The Nice Guy by Sarah a. Denzil was definitely a great read. Kind of obvious as to what is going to happen next but the ending was a bit of a surprise. Sarah is a very talented author I always look forward to her new books. Her in depth, descriptive writing had me hanging on til the very last sentence. If you enjoy thrillers don't miss out on the nice guy by Sarah a. Denzil this summer!

My very first read by this author but it won't be my last. 5-star! What a twisty page turner! This book shows the desperate measures that a mother will go to in order to save her child! My heart was pounding. I was chewing my nails. I've never wanted a bad gy to die so badly. It was truly amazing! Thank you for the opportunity to preview this book!

The Nice Guy by Sarah A. Denzil is a thrilling read that had me hooked from the start. The author does an excellent job of building suspense and creating an atmosphere of unease that had me on the edge of my seat. The beginning of the book was particularly gripping and set a high standard for the rest of the story.
However, the middle of the book did slow down a bit, which made it harder to maintain the same level of engagement. That being said, I still found this section interesting, as it helped build the story and set the stage for the thrilling conclusion. It even kept me gripped while in hospital for the day. I was able to ignore all other distractions and read, something I usually struggle with.
Parts 3 and 4 of the book were absolutely fantastic, and I couldn't put the book down. The pacing picked up, and the tension increased, which kept me invested in the story until the very end.
While Laura, the protagonist, wasn't the most likeable character, I did find her journey to be compelling. She was quick to judge, which could be frustrating at times, but her eventual validation made for a satisfying conclusion to her character arc.
Overall, The Nice Guy is a great read that will keep you entertained and engaged. While there are some slow parts, the thrilling ending makes it all worth it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good suspenseful story.

This was an edge of your seat suspense that I couldn't put down! It wasn't as dark as some of Sarah A. Denzil's other books which might be a good thing for some people. Loved the writing, loved the characters, loved it!

The Nice Guy by Sarah A. Denzil was a wild ride. The story follows Laura, who thinks she's found the perfect man in Ethan after he saves her from a chaotic crowd on the Brooklyn Bridge. They have a passionate night together, and Laura finds herself pregnant, which is a miracle considering her past fertility issues. At first, Ethan is everything she ever wanted in a partner and father for her child. However, things take a dark turn as Ethan becomes increasingly controlling and obsessive.

I loved the twists and turns in this book. As someone who reads a lot of thrillers, I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. The characters were well-written, and I found myself really rooting for Laura, who was relatable and strong. Ethan's mother was also a standout character for me, as she had some unexpected actions that kept me hooked.

Each chapter flowed naturally, and I found myself devouring the book in one sitting. If you're a fan of thrillers, I definitely recommend The Nice Guy. ARC provided by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op.

Oh my goodness gracious!!! This was an amazing book. 2 authors joined together to write this absolutely suspensful story. I read a lot of thrillers, so when I say this one had me at the edge of my seat with a racing heart, I mean it LOL !! Laura, our main character, is attending a women's march with her friend Jessa when the crowd gets out of control and Laura ends up on the ground being trampled upon. Out of nowhere comes this nice guy who lifts her up and carries her to safety. And oh boy. She probably would've been better off being trampled. The nice guy is, of course nice for a bit. Then all hell breaks loose. The twists in this story are remarkable. The big twist towards the end had me almost falling on the floor. This one gets five shiny stars without a doubt. I highly recommend it. I totally enjoyed reading this and highly recommend it. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. I truly appreciate it.

A quick paced, unnerving and tense thriller. I wasn't blown away by this, I don't think its the best thriller I've ever read but overall it is a solid domestic thriller and it is worth reading.

THE NICE GUY was a great read! The plot drew me in quickly and kept me interested. It wasn’t a super twisty thriller, but it was compelling, well written, and entertaining. Would read more from these authors!

The Nice guy tells the modern tale of girl meets guy, guy saves girl, all hell breaks loose.
Ethan is not a nice guy. That's not a spoiler. There is actually really nothing to be spoiled as this is mostly a psychological suspense. There is not really any twists and turns as we know the whole time that Ethan is psychotic and won't leave Laura alone. The story kept me interested and it was an enjoyable read. It was pretty straightforward and I think I was waiting for something else to happen. Ethan is so over the top crazy and there really is no explanation for it- I kept thinking maybe something was going to come out as a giant twist in the book. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wow!!! This is a really good book. Very well written. There are lots of twists and turns to keep your interest. I will definitely be reading more by this author. The only negative I have about the book is that I would have liked to have had a definitive ending to the heroines story. She deserved it after everything she had been through.

First time reading a book from either of the authors. And I enjoyed it, couldn't put it down.. Laura meets a handsome to good to be true man called Ethan..

So many red flags from the first couple chapters.. Laura then becomes pregnant with Ethan's baby and things take a bitter turn..
A story of a mother protecting her child and people she loves within her life..

Each page turn kept me wanting more, to know what happened next.

An easy read and a page turner (which I love.) If you enjoy domestic thrillers at a fast pace I highly recommend this book!

I really did not enjoy this book at all. It lacked the suspense and thrill of the author’s previous books. The characters were rather annoying and the dialogue came across as awkward.

Laura is pregnant after a one-night stand with Ethan. After moving to New York from England Laura joined a woman’s march where Ethan saved her from being stampeded by the crowd. After one date Laura decided Ethan was manipulative and controlling. Unfortunately, the pregnancy brought Ethan back into her life. He’s not who she would pick for the babies father, but she decides a few rules might do the trick.

Sarah A Denzil is one of my favorite authors. Anytime a new book is released I’m there to one-click it. I requested The Nice Guy on Netgalley and have to say this one reads differently from her other work. I’m certain it’s because it’s co-written with another author whom I’m unfamiliar with.

The book has a built in curiosity feeling especially since Ethan has a peculiar personality. Sarah mentioned how much she enjoyed writing about a villain. Ethan certainly has villainous traits. It’s quite interesting reading about Ethan’s controlling behavior in this type of situation. Usually when reading romance books men are controlling in the bedroom. This isn’t that type of control. A word of advice take it at face value.

I held myself back on this one. I was in disbelief that Ethan was this controlling abusive man. I kept waiting for a twist to change the outcome. Had I just accepted the concept I might’ve had different feelings about the book. It just seemed too straight forward. I had preconceived ideas of something darker or more sinister. I got my wish a little towards the tale end of the book.

The cover design of The Good Guy is stunning. It’s definitely a show stopper.

When Laura is rescued from being crushed by a crowd during a women’s March by Ethan, she thought that she met the one nice guy in New York. This perfect rom-com meet cute leads to a passionate night, which results in Laura becoming pregnant. Soon Ethan’s nice guy persona starts to slip and is replaced with a controlling, demanding and obsessive sociopath. Can Laura save her baby before it’s too late.
This was a quick paced, quick read that kept me guessing until the end. I sympathized with Laura. I give this book 3.5 red flags/ 5. Thanks NetGalley for giving me an opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for a honest review.

What a thrilling ride. I really enjoyed this book, I was hooked from the beginning, I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. This is a book that will keep you guessing and on your toes from beginning to end.

I don't think I've hated a character as much as I hated Ethan ! What an evil, narcissistic human being he is, oh and his mother. Honestly it made me love the book even more. Laura was a very relatable character and I just wanted everything to turn out okay for her.

It was very well written, captivating and intriguing. The beginning is a little slower as we get settled into the craziness, but bare with it you won't regret it, once the action starts coming it won't stop. There was one thing that felt a little unrealistic to me, but honestly the whole entirety of this book is so worth it.

If you're looking for a gripping page turning psychological thriller with a relatable protagonist and hateable side characters this is one you won't want to miss!

Laura wants her baby’s father to be in the picture and so tries to have an amicable co-parenting agreement with Ethan. But things are about to get a lot worse, and Ethan’s true colours are bubbling under the surface.

My Review:
Loved, loved, LOVED this book! This was one of those books that even part way through reading I already can’t wait to tell people all about it and how much I enjoyed it. It was the definition of a page turner.

I’m a huge fan of psychological thrillers and this one ticked all the right boxes for me. It was tense throughout and I love having a character I can absolutely hate (Ethan) – think psychotic narcissist and you’re on the right track! But what I also found really refreshing was Laura as the protagonist. Her character came across as really switched on and someone the reader could relate to. What I also liked was there wasn’t anything in this book that I thought was too unrealistic or exaggerated, which is what you can sometimes find in thrillers in an effort to build tension and for shock value. It felt very true to life throughout.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I will definitely be seeking out more!

The Nice Guy
With a title like that I was already expecting NOT a nice guy. What an understatement. By the end of this book you will literally hate this person with every fiber of your being.
Laura thinks she meets her knight in shining armor one afternoon when Ethan comes to her rescue. He’s almost too good to be true, and he is. She quickly learns things are not right with him by their second date and ends it. But Ethan does not take kindly to ever being told no. He stalks her relentlessly at first by texting, calls and even showing up at her work. They eventually come to a truce and he seems to back off. Then Laura finds herself pregnant and she struggles with telling him or not. Her choice here will change her life forever.
I finished this book in one day.
I’m afraid I will never like the name Ethan again after reading this book.

Laura meets Ethan when she gets separated from her best friend, Jessa, at a march in New York City. They spend a fun night together but once they go on an official date, she sees another side of Ethan. He’s rude and controlling and she decides not to pursue a relationship with him. He blows up her phone and tracks her down at her office for a grand apology gesture but she’s firm about him staying away. He leaves her alone and she’s glad she’s free of him. Until she discovers that she’s pregnant.

She decides to keep the baby and tells Ethan that he’s going to be a father. He’s overjoyed and they live happily ever after. Ha, of course not. Throughout the pregnancy, he alternately criticizes her and then apologizes for his behavior. He respects her boundaries one day and then barrels through them the next. It’s exhausting just to read, honestly. His attitude isn’t any better after the birth and she fears that he might endanger their child. And then he and his overbearing mother do something that changes the course of all their lives. Laura must prove that she will do anything for her child. But at what cost?

There’s a point in the book where the timeframe suddenly starts jumping forward multiple times in an off-putting way. I know there are two authors and I’m not sure how the writing was divided, but there was a clear shift at this point. I feel like there should have been less narrative before this point and more afterward that instead is mostly skimmed over. Those are parts I’d want to read, not just be told about in a quick summary.

Otherwise, the story progresses as you would expect, with some last-minute attempts at twists that fell flat for me. I much prefer Sarah Denzil’s other books, including her previous collaboration with Anni Taylor for Poison Orchids. So, I guess it’s the other author’s writing that isn’t for me, as I had expected to enjoy this story more. It’s just missing that extra bit to help it stand out from the myriad of other domestic thrillers.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and Sarah A. Denzil for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wonderfully written, capturing and intriguing, The Nice Guy had me on my toes from start to end.
Laura was a superb character, very easy to relate to in every situation she's in. She's realistic, strong, determined, a great mother and in the end a heroine. I loved her character so much. I also loved Ethan's mother. I was able to picture her clearly in my mind and her actions although stereotypical of a villian, were unique and unexpected here and there that made me enjoy her character a lot.
A couple more twists and I would've rated it 5 stars. I absolutely loved it ❤️
