Elisha, the MC is so interesting. I think Vale did a great job creating her and then a complete opposite with the male MC. Their adventure is funny and heartwarming. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Four stars.
3.75 out of 5. This book is an ode to Christmas movies and how can I not love that. A girl obsessed with movies living in the backdrop of a famous Christmas movie? sign me up. There is less tension and more just friendliness throughout but it was super cute. Also the red scarf - too cute. I have to admire her movie choices. Her favorite Christmas movies are some of mine: Love Actually and The holiday (the British have just done it so much better). Also I Was obsessed that on her trip to NY she wanted to revisit all the places in her movies: Breakfast at Tiffanys, serendipity and Enchanted, I mean those are some seriously beautiful NY moments and great movies in my book too.
This one is for the Hallmark with Spice lovers!
Wrapped with a Beau is packed with Christmas joy and plenty of delicious sounding sugary sweets. Opposites attract in this small town romance. I liked the dynamic between the MMC & FMC. It was adorable and funny. I especially loved how these two met (it was hilarious). The small town holiday vibes were strong here and made me wish I was there.
Definitely recommend if you are in the mood for holiday romcom with some spice!
This was my second book by Lillie Vale and I loved it as much as I did the first one! If you read and enjoyed The Decoy Girlfriend, chances are you will like Wrapped with a Beau as well. It takes place in the same universe but follows different characters. It had a lot of the tropes I love in romance books- witty banter, small town charm, and characters that know right off the bat that they’re into each other. Vale does a great job of writing realistic characters, even though the storylines still contain the fluffy and spicy content most romance readers look for as well. This is a perfect read for the holiday season, as it takes place in December and references Christmas a lot, but it’s a fun read no matter when you choose to read it. I received an ARC through NetGalley and read the book in July and still found it such an enjoyable read.
Wrapped with a Beau
I loved this story! I loved it from the very beginning with Elisha thinking someone was breaking into the house across the street! You couldn't help but fall in love with her. Everyone in this small little town loves Elisha! Her beloved neighbor Maeve passed away and her great nephew inherited the house. From their first meeting, things don't go as planned. Elisha being a romantic and Ves not believing in love or that is life with ever end in a happy way. Ves was never shown much love growing up with his parents nasty divorce and being sent to boarding school. The only love he remembers is the one Christmas he spent with Maeve in Piney Peaks.
Lillie Vale does a wonderful job creating a beautiful Christmas story in the small town. You will fall in love with almost all of the characters. Of course we have one we don't like but you will soon know why!
Grab a hot cocoa and curl up with a blanket and enjoy reading Wrapped with a Beau.
I DNFd this book at 65% I was buddy reading with a friend and they finished before me and confirmed it didn't get any better so I decided not to waste my time with the rest. Unfortunate because I really enjoyed the authors last book!
Disregard star rating as I didn't finish the book
Give me a Lillie Vale book, and I know I will enjoy it. And that goes double for this one, because I'm a huge fan of holiday romances. So one of my favourite authors writing a Christmas romance was a recipe for success. And I enjoyed this SO much! I loved the small town setting, the humour, the holiday vibes, and especially the dynamic between these characters, which was so much fun to read. I saved this book for a (literal and figurative) rainy day, and it was the best treat I could have asked for and really cheered me up!
In the beautiful town of Piney Peaks, a beloved Christmas house was made famous by the Sleighbells under Starlight, a romantic holiday movie... but now fifty years later a new love is going to take place in that house and it's going to take place between the city boy who inherited the famous house from his great aunt and the hometown girl who is set on getting the rights to film the sequel to the beloved movie for the same house and put her hometown back on the map! Elisha Rowe loves her hometown of Piney Peaks, she adores Christmas, and most of all she loves the movie Sleighbells under Starlight and she adored Maeve, the woman who owned the house before she died and left it to her great nephew... the same great nephew that Elisha might have assumed was an intruder in the house and attacked with a giant candy cane... whoops. Elisha's job is to secure the authorization from the owner of the house for the filming of the sequel to take place in the same house as the original movie, something she promised she could do and she did in fact have Maeve's signature before she died... but now that said great nephew owns the house the signature is void and she'll have to convince this grinch of a city boy to sign. Ves Hollins is not a Christmas person, in fact he is the ultimate grinch, and he wants nothing more than to sell the house his great aunt left him and return to the city. Ves has always had a really bad family life, his aunt Maeve was the only person to actually care about him, but opening that can of worms means facing his feelings and thats definitely not something he wants. Yet the moment he steps into his aunt's home he is nearly attacked by a very cute but slightly unhinged woman in elf pjs and when he realizes that he cant get the house appraised until the New Year, it means he's stuck in Piney Peak all Christmas... and stuck getting to know the irritating but very cute woman who lives across the street from him. Elisha and Ves are opposites but the more time they spend together the more their feelings grow, yet they both know that anything that happens between them is bound to end since Ves is going to return to the city and Elisha would never leave her hometown... it would definitely take a Christmas miracle to get these two together. This was definitely a very Hallmark Christmas movie type of read and I enjoyed it overall! It did have some spice which was great and overall, would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a cute Christmas romance read!

Wrapped with a Beau by Lillie Vale is the perfect holiday romance story!
I adored this cute little rom-com and it had everything you would expect in a holiday read.
This was a perfectly light, funny, tender-hearted rom-com that has all the Christmas feels.
A sweet small town vibe, extremely likable characters, opposites attract and if you love the grumpy/sunshine trope you’ll love WWAB.
The descriptions of the scenery were stunning. The setting was picture perfect. And the writing was captivating.
The author has written these characters with depth that shows throughout the story. Both main characters have some really solid character development. I really loved their individual personalities.
Overall, a great book to cuddle up with and get lost in the pages as you devour every word.

"Wrapped With a Beau" by Lillie Vale is a delightful rom-com that would be absolutely perfect to read during the winter holiday season. It's set in a quirky small town full of charm and atmosphere, and filled with a variety of colorful characters. Our leads, Elisha and Ves, were fleshed-out well and had believable emotional arcs over the course of the book. This book made me laugh and gave me butterflies; it felt like I was watching a fun, fizzy holiday romance movie. Such a delight!
I was obsessed with Lillie Vale’s “The Shaadi Set-up” and couldn’t get enough of it. Inhaled is an understatement. Unfortunately, with this one, it was not the case. I read it before bed three nights in a row. Each night, I didn’t remember what I had read the night before, and it wasn’t drawing me in when I woke up in the morning. A bummer, for sure. Stopping at 21%.
Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin for the ARC.
This book had everything I’d usually want in a little romance. It was super Christmas-y and cutesy small town Hallmark movie. But there was something about it I just didn’t care for. I felt disconnected from the characters and didn’t feel any real chemistry from them. I think that was my main issue with it.
The bones were there for a perfect Christmas story though!
I absolutely loved the cover of Wrapped with a Beau, which is the main reason I requested an arc of this. I also liked the premise, but the execution wasn't the best. While there are some funny moments between Ves and Elisha, I had some issues with the way the dialogue is written--it's stilted and weird in some places, and I didn't feel like their relationship was developed enough, but overall it was cute.
I’m fully embracing Christmas in July right now, and this book was a great addition to my festive bunch. It’s one that should definitely be on the radar of anyone looking for a Hallmark movie-with-spice vibe in their holiday reads this year.
Ves inherits his great aunt’s home, which was featured in a beloved Christmas movie, and plans a quick in-and-out of town to deal with the estate while avoiding any kind of emotional attachment. Elisha lives across the street and is responsible for securing the rights to use the house in the upcoming sequel film being made. After a bit of a meet-disaster that involves a candy cane lawn ornament, Ves and Elisha find themselves tangled up in a whole lot of ways neither of them expected.
I really loved Ves and Elisha and their relationship development. There was a lot of fun, flirty banter between them, and the way Ves almost immediately starting opening his heart to her was adorable, even if he was in denial cover it. He’s the grump to her sunshine, but his ‘grump’ is really just his fear of emotional attachment after so many rejections that began with his own family. Elisha was a fun, upbeat, charming ambassador for her town. I really loved how she saw Ves and didn’t try to force him into anything that made him uncomfortable but gave him a person he could trust and rely on while warming up to change.
My only real complaint about this book is that it felt like there were quite a few underdeveloped secondary storylines that didn’t feel necessary, particularly the ex-moving-into-town. There were scenes driven by that plot, but I think the book would’ve been perfectly fine without them and wouldn’t have lost any emotional value.
Overall though, I thoroughly enjoyed this one and look forward to rereading it during the holiday season this year.

If you're into Christmas books then this book is perfect for you. I absolutely loved Ves and Elisha's relationship there was a ton of chemistry and their banter was fantastic. Also Elisha's family is fantastic as well.
It did take me a little bit to get into the book though. It took till about 20% until I was fully invested in what was going on.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4
I loved all the Christmas feels in this book! It is full of small town Christmas vibes. I want to visit this town!
This book follows Elisha, who has just moved back to the small town she grew up in, and Ves, who lives in New York City but has inherited a house in the small town so he arrives there to go through it and get it ready to sell.
This book is packed with Christmas spirit and cheer. I loved all the little details of Christmas, Elisha’s nutcracker nail art. It definitely read like a hallmark movie but with some steamy moments as well.
I also loved Elisha’s family, especially the grandfather. They were so friendly and welcoming. Their little Christmas candy shop sounded amazing as well.
The romance was cute, though they weren’t my favorite couple ever. It was still fun to follow them both as they are very different from each other.
The one thing that didn’t really work for me was the third person present tense. That’s not the book’s fault; this tense is my least favorite and I almost always have difficulty with it.
But other than that, this was a fun read sure to make your spirits bright!

I felt E V E R Y T H I N G in this book. Now I am ready to sell my house in Virginia and find a Christmas town like Piney Peaks. Elisha Rowe is working on getting a sequel to Sleighbells when her neighbor, the homeowner of the beloved house featured in the movie, passes away and leaves the house to her distant relative, Ves. Ves just wants to get rid of the house, get back to his life, and get back to New York. The first time Elisha meets Ves goes ... less than optimal and he does not want to let her use the house for the movie. As she's commiserating at the bar with her best friend ... guess who strolls in with his new wife - yep, her former fiancé, who didn't want to live in Piney Peaks when they were together. As the two (Ves/Elisha) spend more time together, they realize they actually do have a lot in common and enjoy each other's company - they agree to date but with a deadline (when Ves goes back to New York / the house sells). However, as time passes, Ves starts to see the magic of Piney Peaks and falls he and Elisha fall for each other. But what to do when the Christmas season and magic is gone?
4.5/5 stars, would recommend to a friend.
Thanks to Netgalley and the author for the ARC
Christmas season has to be the best season and a Christmas town is something I always dream of visiting. What’s better than that is love at Christmas. This book has it all. I really loved it and am now impatiently waiting for Christmas to arrive. This should be made into a Christmas movie!
First off, can we just take a moment to appreciate the title alone? I mean, that’s one AMAZING title! It gets a whole 5 stars all by itself. The cover, too, is absolutely gorgeous. If I saw this in the store, I wouldn’t even read the blurb, I would just snatch it up off the cover and title alone.
This book is absolutely incredible. The characters are lovable and well developed, which I absolutely adored. Literally every character in the town added something to the story. The small town of Piney Peaks was so cozy and perfectly complimented the plot. I mean, it’s June and I’m reading a Christmas Book but it made me FEEL like I was reading this in December. Absolute perfection.
The plot is so unique and entertaining that I couldn’t put this book down once I started it. From the not-so-meet-cute of the main characters to the drama with Elisha’s ex to Ves’ resistance to let go of his protective emotional barrier, the story is jam packed with everything I could ever want in a contemporary romcom! And the banter between Elisha and Ves was SO good. I could read their dialogue forever and never get tired of their amazing chemistry.
As a Hallmark Christmas movie lover, this book was everything I wanted. It was cute and cozy... exactly what I wanted to read in June....(sarcasm)...but that didn't mean I didn't absolutely love it.
