This was a cute enemy to lovers holiday romance but the steamy scenes in this one were not up my alley. This book follows Elisha a movie liaison for a Christmas movie that is remaking a movie shot in the small quaint town years ago. As one of Elisha’s favorite movies she is set on getting the Christmas house as the filming location. One issue is preventing that Ves, the Christmas house owners nephew who was recently left the house after his aunt. Ces is wanting to sell the house and get back to his life that is until Elisha comes into his life trying to convince him to let them use the house.
I started out really enjoying this story I liked the enemies to lovers banter the premise seemed interesting and the characters were relatable. My only issue with this book was the last fourth of the book it felt like it went from a pretty fast paced romantic comedy to just straight sex scenes and it completely threw the pacing off for me. Now I am not a prude when it comes to romance but the writing on these scenes felt cringy to me for some reason. There were a few places where I skipped ahead otherwise I really like this book it would have been a 3.5 if not for the last fourth. I would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for a chance to read this book for an honest review.
I think this was my favorite holiday romance I read this season. It was cute and fun and had all the hallmark and holiday romcom joy you’d want.
This was an adorable holiday read, just what I was looking for. I don’t know about a lot of other people, but when the holiday romance mood hits, it hits hard. While there are plenty of choices out there to choose from, I wanted a sweet story that would hit me just right. Wrapped with a beau was that book for me.
A huge thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for gifting me a copy of this ARC!
If you're looking for a typical cutesy Christmas vibe, look no further than "Wrapped with a Beau." This was my first title by Vale that I read, and I did definitely enjoy it. I will say some of the writing felt a bit surface level at some points, but it wasn't anything that turned me off to the book or bored me. A great palate cleanser in my opinion - I'll be lending this one out next holiday season!
I loved this holiday romance!!! It puts you in the holiday spirit and honestly was so stinking cute!! Highly recommend!
The Christmas House in Piney Peaks was the setting of a classic Christmas movie. When the sequel is planned, Elisha (the town’s film liasion) is determined to get the new owner, Ves, to allow filming, but Ves is only in town to sell his great-aunt’s house. The holidays have always been tough for Ves, and Elisha is overflowing with holiday spirit.
I really liked this! This is my third Lillie Vale book, and each one has been so different but so good. (Also, I do think the title would have made more sense if Ves was named Beau - but no one at Penguin Group Putname asked me.)
This book was so freaking cute! It had total "Hallmark Movie" vibes + a little bit of spice. The Grumpy/Sunshine trope was done very well and it was an all-around feel-good read. A great holiday book full of heart and banter and coziness. It was a quick and easy read and put me in the holiday mood. Plus - the cover is so totally adorable! Thanks to the publishers for this advance review copy. All opinions are my own.
Small town, interracial, instant attraction - perfect holiday romance! All the Christmas book musts are included and I liked the dialog/rejationship. Didn’t feel overly sweet/unreal!
This was a fun holiday story, and I really enjoyed it. It was quite engaging and entertaining. Overall, I had a great time reading this story and would recommend it to any fan of the holiday genre.
Fairly predictable rom com but it was still a good read that I enjoyed it. It was also a quick read.
Cute Christmas romance with a grumpy x sunshine narrative. Written in dual point of view. Hallmark movieish with a little bit of spice!
Thank you Penguin GROUP Putnam for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own!
This is the story of Elisha Rowe a successful film liaison. She wants to one thing and one thing only, to put her hometown back on the map. There is an opportunity for a sequel of a beloved holiday movie to be filmed in her hometown. However, the catch is she needs a historic Christmas home to be available for filming. How hard could it be to get the owner to allow them to use the house for the movie? Extremely hard, when the hot new owner denies her.
Ves Hollins is a City boy who is only back in Piney Peaks to sell the house he inherited from his great-aunt. He has always found the holidays to be tough for him, and his neighbor Elisha is not making it any easier by bringing back memories from a Christmas long, long ago. Will Elisha be able to melt Ves's frosty heart, or will they just have to film the sequel somewhere new?

Lillie Vale's book is a heartwarming and joyous holiday romance story. The characters and plot were very festive and fun. It's a must-read, and I recommended it for sweet holiday love stories fans.
A bit too much Christmas in this novel; felt a bit like every Hallmark movie was all thrown into one and it was overwhelming at times. The grumpy sunshine trope was the only thing I truly enjoyed but there was not enough grumpiness compared to what I normally like. Overall it was a decent read, not my favorite, but also not my least favorite and I rated it 3 stars.
This was just so cute! I love when an author successfully makes the town a character and I think Vale did so perfectly in this book. If I could visit Piney Peaks tomorrow, I'd be there in a heartbeat. It was sweet and heartwarming and everything I want in a holiday romance.
There is something so incredibly cozy, warm, and almost nostalgic feeling when it comes to small town holiday romances. Wrapped with a Beau is one of those reads that just hits all the marks. With a dual POV narration, a splash of steam to warm you up, and all of the warm fuzzy feelings of small town quirks and workings- this is honestly a great read no matter time of year for someone itching to read something smile worthy.
A classic grumpy v sunshine trope, our main characters ebb and flow together really well. They break down walls and barriers each have built up and have some beautiful and vulnerable moments of growth. The relationship blossoms in a believable way. This was essentially Hallmark in a cup and pure holiday magic.
Read if you're a fan of opposites attract, sunshine v grumpy, holiday small town settings, cozy winter dates, and a happily ever after that leaves you smiling.
In trying to jog my memory I went looking at Goodreads reviews and found this one that said "This was cute and silly but so forgettable that I forgot I didn't mark this as read on goodreads. It basically vacated my mind as soon as I was done." Which, yes, same. The cover doesn't even look familiar to me anymore, which really says it all. If one does not remember a Christmas book does it even exist? A question more interesting to explore than whatever the mediocre and forgettable plot of this book was.
This is an adorable small town grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, girl next door romance. It was fun holiday read. Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.
This was sweet enough and a very easy story to dive into. It won’t be a new favorite but it was enjoyable for the holiday season
This is a lovely holiday romance set in a small town. When Elisha returns to her hometown, she hopes to boost it by rebooting the Christmas movie that made it famous. The catch is the new owner of the house that starred in the film is creating an obstacle. Will Elisha get to accomplish her goal and will she find love while she's at it?
