This was adorable. I love a good girl bad boy love connection, it's somehow so satisfying.

I think it's a little fast paced, but I enjoyed it regardless. I like how different the two characters are from each other, and how both of them have underlying things about them that get discovered. The addition of a competitor for the love interest (or seeming competitor) is giving me major Nana vibes, and I'm here for it. And I LOVED the ending. So cute. I definitely am gonna keep my eye open for this series, I'd love to add it to my collection.

How cute is this manga? I fell in love at first sight! Will I also have Red Cross Syndrome? Because I too always have a bag that weighs a lot, with a thousand things that could be useful...
In fact I find myself very much in the protagonist, that she has never been able to make friends, yet she always has everything she needs in case someone asks her for something.
Finally feeling "seen" by someone is a good feeling.
A great start to this shoujo, which I will definitely keep an eye on and hope to continue reading!

Thanks Netgalley for letting me read it!

4.5 🌟
This is so cute and such a fast paced read! The trope is a bad boy x nice girl. Risa is such a nice girl and she's smart and willing to help anyone. One day, she sees Zen who gets beaten up by delinquents and from that moment, they become strangers to friends to hopefully lovers!

"Love, That's an Understatement" is about a high school girl, Risa, who saves a delinquent high school boy, Zen, after witnessing him get beat up one evening. After that Zen repeatedly shows up to save the day even when Risa doesn't want his help.
Normally I don't care for shojo manga where one of the characters, usually the guy, is pushy about the other dating them. Risa, however, is very strong willed and straight forward so I don't mind it much.

Such a cute story. Risa is a high school girl who is always prepared for everything and socially awkward. Zen is a bad boy from the neighbouring school who isn’t so bad after all. She helps him once, which brings her the unwanted attention of a gang after Zen. The two stirke a mutual helping pact, which for him means a chance to get to know her better and for her a total confusion.

I really liked Zen, as did everyone else, because he turned out to be a nice, helpful guy. He’s totally unfazed by Risa’s social awkwardness and finds her cute because of it. Risa came across as someone on the autism spectrum at first, but it turned out her oddities were learned behaviour of a child who always has to manage alone.

The first volume ended with a kiss, so there’s a romance to look forward to. And the gang after them hasn’t eased out either.

I am obsessed! This is a bad boy, good girl romance and it's so cute and swoony. Risa is walking home in the rain and runs into a guy who is beat up on the street. Always prepared for things, Risa hands him a towel, her extra umbrella, and writes down the nearest emergency room that he can get to but then walks away. Little does she know, she saves Zen's live and now he feels indebted to her. This starts the cycle of their unending need to pay each other for saving one another in unexpected situations. Their love is so cute and fresh. I can't wait for the rest of the series.

Highly recommend if you like romance mangas!
Thank you NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for letting be read this ARC! I loved it.

A sweet story, with humour to it. Nice artistry, and interesting to see the story develop. Only wish there was colour to the scenes but it isn’t necessary, would just be a nicety
