A house full of secrets and lies….What happens when the truth is revealed?
Get ready for a psychological thriller that is so atmospheric and unsettling! There are so many shocking revelations throughout the book and I was so immersed in the story. It will have you questioning everything and everyone. The building suspense throughout really kept me interested and I was so curious how all of the pieces would fit together. Things get really intense and there are so many twists and turns.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Bookouture for the arc!
This was a new to me author, but this title had me stalking her backlist! Told in multiple points of view, MY HUSBAND'S HOUSE was a tense psychological thriller that had me thoroughly invested.
When Ben and Naomi move to a new home for a fresh start, it’s not quite what she imagined. She's pregnant with her second child and is eager to begin renovating and freshening up the neglected property. The dynamic between husband and wife soon became strained as Naomi is very superstitious, while Ben is a non-believer. Ben's job takes him away from the home quite often, and when he is there, he doesn't seem fully present.
This book was a study in red herrings, from the next door neighbor, to the rumors surrounding the house, and the old woman that Ben has a visceral reaction to. Nothing is as it seems, and the less you know going in, the better. I think I stress-ate during the entire last 50% of this book!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bookouture for this early read. This title will publish June 5, 2023.
Another great psychological thriller from Sheryl Browne.
It’s hard to describe this story without giving too much away but it’s definitely got a few surprises in store.
Naomi and Ben move into a house that needs a lot of TLC and their neighbour, Sara is there to say hello and offers to look after their children for a bit as she has two of a similar age.
Ben is a bit off towards Sara but Naomi can’t understand why and he just brushes this off.
When he meets Sara’s partner the animosity is clear for all to see but again Naomi doesn’t understand why.
This is a gripping psychological thriller that will definitely have you racing through the pages.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
Whew! I need some oxygen after reading this thriller. I am breathless and chilled to the bone. There are mind games amongst the characters, and trust me, it will play mind games with your mind as the reader. I am so blown away that I cannot even think about exactly what I want to write.
Naomi and her husband, Ben, along with their children are moving into a new home. Naomi is hesitant about this move as she feels something about this house is just not right. This house has an unhappy history (although she does not know this at first). When they move in, they are greeted by their friendly next door neighbor, Sara. Sara has a boy and girl as well, and the kids are immediately drawn to one another. Everything seems to be falling into place for this family, then the weird stuff starts happening.
This was a brilliantly written thriller by a very talented writer who loves to take you down one rabbit hole after another. The chills begin from the moment Naomi finds a lonely, empty rocking chair and a threadbare teddy bear in one of the bedrooms of the house. Cue the creepy music. The tingles started from that point forward and then the goosebumps and chills just kept building. I was so absorbed and captivated by this book that I slipped into the pages for a few hours today and lived there. Yes. I read it in one sitting. Sheryl Browne is a master manipulator in her writing, and she misled me from the start to finish. This was a gritty psychological thriller which will play with your mind and give you goosebumps. I like the way that the chapters were told from the point of view of the characters which allows you to delve into the minds of the characters.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
With it's peeling wallpaper and overgrown garden I know our new home isn't perfect. But my husband Ben promises it's the fresh start we need. I remind myself that he's an amazing father to our two children and we have years of happy marriage behind us. He's been distant for months but I'm desperate to believe the move will bring us back together. When I met our next door neighbour Sara, I'm immediately relieved. She's so welcoming and full of local gossip. But the moment she meets Ben I'm sure an angry frown flickers across her smiling face. Later he says I'm imaging things. Why is my husband lying?
When Ben, Natalie and their two children move into their new home, life changes for everyone. I was gripped from the prologue. There were so many twists and turns that my head was spinning. It will make you question if you really know the person that you love. The characters were well fleshed out and I never knew which character I believed, there were so many lies. I love Sheryl's writing style, she never disappoints. The ending was very creepy.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #SherylBrowne for my ARC of #MyHusbandsHouse in exchange for an honest review.
Sheryl Browne never fails to come up with a new addictive read, and her latest book is no exception. My Husband’s House, written from multiple viewpoints, is a definite page turner. When Ben and Naomi move to a new home, it’s not quite what she imagined. Pregnant with her second child, she plans to spend her time renovating this run down property. It seemed odd to me that her husband had purchased this place, especially as he didn’t appear to be very interested in giving her any help with the work, nor did they appear to have much money with which to carry it out. As a medical photographer, he always appears to be on call and stressed out, which begins to cause friction within the marriage. Added to this, Naomi is superstitious and when unexplained events begin to happen it makes their relationship even more tense.
It’s a journey where things aren’t what they seem, and you the reader, begin to have your suspicions. There are many false trails laid in this story and it’s difficult at times to work out who’s the hero and who’s the villain. It’s a tale of tragedy, family trauma, secrets and lies. And, as usual with Sheryl’s books, the characters are given a pretty tough time before the story finally comes to an end. Recommended.
I would like to thank Netgalley, Bookouture and Sheryl Browne for an ARC of My Husband’s House in exchange for an honest review.
I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘My Husband’s House’ by Sheryl Browne in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Naomi Felton and her husband Ben move to another house in a new area and she’s worried that she and their children Liam and Maya won’t make friends. She’s pleased when she meets their new neighbour Sara who’s friendly and welcoming but as soon as Sara meets Ben she makes it clear she doesn’t like him and tells Naomi he’s controlling her. For some reason Sara’s boyfriend Paul doesn’t like Ben either and appears to have a grudge against him. When Naomi learns the history of their house she wonders if Ben is keeping secrets from her and fears that moving there could be a big mistake.
‘My Husband’s House’ is an exciting thriller of secrets and lies that’s kept me immersed in the characters’ lives from the beginning. The plot is well described and becomes increasingly chilling as Naomi learns the history of their house and it becomes clear that Ben isn’t being truthful. This novel is one of those page-turners that has an abundance of tension, suspense and intrigue so you have no alternative but to keep reading for fear of missing one of the many twists or turns. It’s an exciting thriller that’s easy to read and I can recommend.
This book was creepy, twisty, and full of suspense.
At first, you read it and it all seems normal. Just a story, no big deal. But then it picks up speed and some unexpected twists and turns show up, and it gets weirder and creepier with each page. There was so much nerve-racking suspense! And in the very end, it feels like a huge fountain of truth bombs going off all at once.
Complex and complicated thriller, who is the bad guy? Lots of twists, an intriguing take but a bit drawn out.
This is a well-written, entertaining, intense and gripping, psychological thriller. It is fast paced with a likable female protagonist, murder, mystery, suspense, tragedy, twists and turns, and an unexpected ending. Many thanks to Ms. Sheryl Browne, NetGalley, and the publisher, Bookouture, who kindly provided me with an ARC of this outstanding novel. This is my honest opinion.
A family moves to a new town and the wife discovers her husband has been keeping secrets from her.
I wanted to love this book, and did in fact love much of the plot and especially the twist towards the end. However, all the good parts of the story did not equal to a good book. The main issue is the dialogue between anybody and everybody. Almost none of it felt real or even plausible at times, too much conversing with the small children who are not a pivotal part in most of the drama, Naomi and Ben seemed bi-polar and nonsensical most of the time, and Joan appeared senile at times, completely lucid at other times. A more developed and intricate plot and less talking would have worked better for me.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Wow what a book loved it, very addictive. It makes you think, do you really know someone who you love and have put your complete trust in, obviously not. The characters were brilliant which makes the book so good.
This is the first book I have read of this author and now can’t wait to read more.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC
This is the very definition of PAGE TURNER. I blasted through My Husband's House in less than 24 hours because I could not stop.
A new family moves into their dream home, but one of the homeowners starts finding mysterious....things. Are they being haunted or is it something more sinister?
Sheryl Browne seems to be a master at world building and I'm now on the hunt for everything else she's written.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review.
This is another great book by Sheryl Browne. It’s full of unexpected twists. The ending left me with a lot of questions since it’s open to interpretation. Throughout the book I felt like I knew what was going to happen only to find myself wrong. Overall this is a great book.
This story gripped me from the beginning. It entails a family moving to a new house with a dark history. A lot of dark, twisty twists in this story that maintain your interest throughout. A theme of the story is "Do you really know people?", and "Can you trust people you think you know?" A great read. Highly recommend.
I quite enjoyed this book and there were lots of twists and turns . I must admit I am a fan of this author but I didn’t think this was the best I’ve read . Very interesting story and great characters and definitely worth a read though . I would still recommend it but I’d only give it 4 stars
This was a roller coaster ride of emotions and unexpected twists. This gripped me from the first chapter and kept me desperately reading for answers to the very end. Clever and thrilling!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this advanced copy. This book played with my emotions and kept me hooked. I had to know what was going to happen!
‘My Husband’s Secret,’ instantly gripped me. I loved the premise of a family moving into their dream home, only for superstitious new home owner, Naomi, to start finding things to feel uncomfortable with. Some of the descriptions were almost haunting to the point I got a shiver up my spine. I enjoyed the introduction of Little Buttons. The toy brought with it as much intrigue as the house’s past did.
The children added to the layers and I loved their interactions with the neighbour, Sara’s children. Then the two families, entwined by their proximity and at similar life stages brought the drama. So many questions popped up and the answers were coming at a high price for the characters. There were tragedy, tears, danger and twists - everything needed to make a great psych thriller.
I found this book to be a real nail biter with a WOW ending. Another cracker and definitely a must read!
