Brilliantly written psychological thriller. Loved it. Gripping and intense. I was hooked from the start and couldn't put it down. Fill of twists, secrets and lies. Mystery is engaging until the end. Story is told from everyone's point of view, that makes is more interesting and intriguing. Loved Naomi, Sarah, and Joan.
Highly recommended.
3.5/5, rounded up | Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love a good mystery/thriller so I was excited to dive into this. My Husband’s House was a fast paced, quick read that kept you sucked in thanks to the multiple POVs and cliffhangers. There were plenty of twists and turns, some that I predicted and others that were a surprise.
Pros:
- page turner
- suspense building
- quick read
Cons:
- it felt a bit jumbled - I was anticipating the reveal to unanswered questions, which I got, but it all kind of poured out at once as opposed to a slower reveal which I personally would’ve appreciated more
- the ending (literally the last page) wasn’t as satisfying as the rest of the book
Minor, but I don’t think the cover or blurb match the story as well as it could’ve.
This was my first read by Browne and I’m excited to check out her other works!
Told from a few different perspectives, Naomi has recently moved into a new house with her family, when things don’t go as smoothly as one would hope. As a superstitious person, too many things happen which don’t sit well with Naomi and sadly things start to unravel with her suspecting many of those close to her. With challenging times ahead, who can she trust?…
A slow burner from the start, a few twists along the way, overall a good read.
Moving to a new house in a new location should be a happy thing. But, to Natalie and Ben everything changes for their family. Is the change for the good?
Talk about creepiness going on in the new house! Just reading about what was going on had me thoroughly spooked!
Be ready to go on a twisty, ominous and eerie ride while reading My Husband’s House.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was one of those books which is hard to put down! Told from a few POV but mainly from Sara and Naomi - it starts with a family moving into a run down house. Sarah is the next door neighbour and Naomi is pregnant with her 3rd child!
But the house has a secret - which superstitious Naomi starts to worry about!
There is the usual neighbourhood problems, with Sarah not liking Naomi’s husband Ben, and Ben not liking anyone!
But the secrets don’t stay secret for long and it’s not just the house that holds some dark secrets!!
I really enjoyed it.
A run down house with a creepy past. An overly friendly neighbor with an agenda. A husband going off the rails and lots of secrets.Add in a twist I never saw coming and color me a big fan. Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for my ARC.
3.5 stars. This was a fun read! I admit I predicted a coupe of the twists, but it was still an enjoyable read, with the drama and the creepy vibes of the house. And the last twist was great, I did not see that coming at all!
Thanks to the Sheryl Browne, Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC!
I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
A couple moves into a house that has a past. Unsettling events occur that are connected to the tragedy that occurred at the property.
Thank you to Netgalley, Sheryl Browne and Bookouture for this ACR of My Husband's House. This wicked domestic thriller gives you the chills from the first chapter. The characters are strange yet relatable, and of COURSE there is a sexy divorcee neighbor trying to befriend the family as soon as they move in. ALERT: RED FLAG, RED FLAG!!!
When Naomi is persuaded into moving into a run-down fixer upper house her husband, Ben, found on short notice, things seem to feel wrong from the moment she crossed the threshold. Almost immediately, Ben is distant, unfocused, and even is starting to show outright outbursts of anger. This is NOT who Naomi married. Is this because of the house? Could this be her imagination? The house most certainly has secrets and Naomi is determined to get to the bottom of them, before it tears her marriage apart, or, someone gets hurt.
If you want a quick read with a domestic twist, this is the book for you
While our new house isn’t perfect, Ben has promised to get it as good as new. He’s been distant for a while but I’m desperate to believe this move will bring us back together.
When I meet Sara, our next-door neighbor, I am relieved with how welcoming she is. But the moment she meets Ben things shift and she seems angry.
Have they met before? What is happening? Does my husband have secrets he hasn’t shared?
This is a captivating suspense novel that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The author skillfully weaves a complex web of secrets and surprises, making it difficult to put the book down. The characters are well developed and complex, which allows the reader to connect to them. I did find several twists to be utterly predicable which took away from my enjoyment of the book. I loved that it was written from different points of views – always adds so much to a story. This one was also more of a slow burn pacing wise, whereas I prefer my thrillers to be on the fast-paced read.
If you are looking for a slow burn thriller with some mystery, then grab a copy of this one June 5th.
Thank you so much to Bookouture, @bookouture, and Netgalley, @Netgalley for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
Completely blown away by My Husband's House! It grips you from the Prologue and continues to hold your interest all the way through! They are many twists and turns throughout this psychological thriller that will have you racing through it!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!
When a family move into their new home creepy things start to happen.
The neighbours have some theories about the previous owners but nobody knows what really happened to them.
A thriller with some twists and turns, some predictable and some surprises.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another brilliant read from this author, I was engrossed in the storyline from the very first page until the end which was just unexpected.
All the characters were well developed and I cannot speak highly enough about this book and the author.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I can thoroughly recommend.
Naomi is nervous while touring the house her husband been has brought her to see she knows he wants her to love it but there is something about the house that tickles the back of her brain she will ultimately acquiesce to Ben’s wants and tells him she loved it and with the little TLC it could be a right comfy house for them and the children Maya and Liam she is even happier to learn the lady next-door also has two children around the same ages as her young ones she hopes this will be a new start for all of them especially cents Ben is starting a new job and the kids are starting a new school but not long after Naomi comes up on things that cast a shadow over her new home Sarah is a divorced mom living next-door and she is dating Paul Paul takes an instant dislike to been but he will not share with Sarah why he dislikes him so much Naomi and Ben suffered a tragic event and when Sarah goes over to all for comfort due to her previous abusive relationship Naomi takes it the wrong way and tell Sarah she doesn’t know her husband is that he is an abusive and keep her comments to herself with someone on the street does no been they also know why he moved to that house he also has been lying about going to work but when an older woman name Lily shows up at their house and then gets angry Naomi doesn’t know what to think she’s only known been to be kind and considerate and a good dad so who is this new been and why is he acting distant? I never know what to say with these twisty thrilling books and it seems the better they are the less I know how to review them just know this is a thrilling book. Twist in secrets that blew my mind I absolutely didn’t know how the author was going to bring it all together but bring it all together she did an OMG what a great compelling read. I received this book from NetGalley and Bookoucher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
My Husband's House by Sheryl Browne is a cleverly written psychological thriller with fantastic characters and lots of twists.
Browne has written another edge of you seat story.
The tension kept building until the ultimate climax.
Cleverly written she has created this slow build tense and sometimes dark thriller that is so engaging that I could not put it down until I turned the last page.
Strong and complex characters, brilliant writing I found this to be a very entertaining read.
I never pass up the amazing opportunity to devour a Sheryl Browne novel!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

I’m always super excited to read any of Sheryl Browne’s new books, so was delighted to read this new release.
It certainly didn’t disappoint and is a great domestic thriller. There were plenty of twists and dark secrets in this book. A great read and one that I’d recommend.
Thank you Bookouture, NetGalley and Sheryl Browne for Another FANTASTIC book!!!! My heart Always gets excited when I see a new novel from this author. She DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Such a GREAT read, the women characters were awesome, I felt that I was right there in their conversations. I figured out one of the twists early but the other ones kept coming, the ending was verrrrrrrrrrry creepy, WOW!!!! Can’t wait for her next book, thank you again.
This was such a brilliant read full of twists, lies and dark secrets that dragged me in straight away with THAT quote about an empty rocking chair and held me to the shocking end. I loved the way the story was told from multiple characters' viewpoints, and enjoyed learning both Naomi and Sara’s story, and all the intrigue surrounding Ben, Naomi’s husband. Sheryl is brilliant at characterisation and the story was heartbreakingly emotional at times. She is also the master of writing a tense, scary scene that leaves your heart racing. Read this with the lights on!
Brilliant, a really really good read, it had me from page one and it didn’t disappoint, I can’t wait to see what’s next
A very creepy book. The story was a slow one to start but got alot of twists and turns in it. I enjoyed it and would recommend this title to others
