A Meg Cabot book is like a security blanket. Her voice is so distinct and familiar and comforting that I instantly feel like I’m fourteen again, devouring any and all of her books I can get my hands on. I think someone could hand me a book without telling me who wrote it, and I’d be able to guess it was her because she’s got such a specific humor and her pop culture references are always on point. All this to say, if you’ve been a Meg Cabot fan at any point in your life, you’ll love Enchanted to Meet You.

Honestly, I don’t even know what to say about this book except that it’s classic Meg Cabot goodness, with the perfect amount of witchiness to kick off your spooky szn reading. Protagonist Jessica knows she’s a witch, but still, no one expects a hot guy to show up and tell them they’re the Chosen One and need to save the town. But I appreciated the twist of how the Chosen One has to work to someone else to save the day, she’s not the only solution. Jess is a great lead – skeptical but still willing to work to save her town. Her narration is funny, making this a quick read even when the town is in great danger. I liked the few chapters from Derrick’s POV – I actually wanted more of them to flesh him out as much as Jess and would have personally preferred them to be first person as well.

This is honestly a fun, great book, but my only real complaint is the Billy Walker love potion plot line that comes early in the novel. The love potion thing just makes me a little uncomfortable, and it felt unnecessary once I got to the end of the book. I think the rest of the plot could have happened exactly as it did without any love potions, and the book still would have been great.

A quirky, enjoyable novel from one of the best. It’s like Buffy The Vampire Slayer for adults. Plenty of laugh out loud moments.

Thank you to Netgalley & Harper Collins for the opportunity to read this early and review! This was one of my most anticipated reads on my Netgalley shelf & did not let me down! This gave me “Return to Halloweentown” vibes in the best way - Jessica is a “cottage witch” just minding her business in her small town, clothing boutique when Derrick comes along and springs a huge revelation on her. This is the perfect cozy read for anyone wanting something cute and witchy with romance sprinkled in. If you loved The Ex Hex, The Kiss Curse, or Go Hex Yourself, I think you’ll love this one! I would’ve loved a bit more to the climax and more of an epilogue but overall I really enjoyed this one and hope there will be more to come from West Harbor ✨

Meh. This was fine.

Jessica is a witch back in her home town running her own dress shop. She is a proclaimed cottage witch without being a “heritage” witch so isn’t part of the coven. When Derrick some blonde hottie comes and tells her she is the “chosen one” and is going to save her town, hopefully.

Overall I didn’t connect with or care for the main characters nor feel a connection between them?
A little lackluster but a quick read.
I’d be curious if the series continues, I’d probably check it out with lower expectations.

Thanks to Netgalley and Avon/Harper Voyager for an eARC.

I'll read anything Meg Cabot writes, and she didn't let me down with Enchanted to Meet You! If you're looking for an entertaining, witchy way to kick off fall (yes, I'm aware that it doesn't officially start for a few weeks), this is exactly what you want. Jessica Gold is a magnetic main character, Derrick is a compelling, mysterious counterpoint to her, and the town's eccentric collection of witches and normal folk is delightful. A plot with just enough "the end might be coming" tension and drama? Wonderful.

I received this as an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so fun & fast paced! Character development was light, but believable. I absolutely loved how Cabot played with the "chosen one" trope!

This is a cozy, atmospheric fall read perfect if you love witches.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was pretty good. It felt a bit simple. There was a lot of build up for not much resolution. The characters built good relationships but the actual paranormal storyline was lacking. It felt like a rushed resolution.

Enchanted to Meet You is so much fun. I haven't had this much fun with a witchy rom-com in a long time! Jessica learned about her magic early in her life and made some big mistakes using it when was a teenager. She doesn't have the best track with magic which is why she's so surprised when a member of the WCW come to tell her that she's the chosen one. Jessica is amazed at this news and at the cute man who delivered the news, Derrick. Mr tall dark and handsome Derrick tells her she must help save her town and help a young witch come into her powers. Jessica has a hard time knowing how to trust and if her feeling for Derrick are real. She must decide how she's coming to save the town she loves. This was fun story and I loved learning about the different types of witches.

Thank you to Netgalley, Avon and Harper Voyager, and Meg Cabot for an e-arc of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I love Meg Cabot; her Mediator series was one of my absolute faves in high school. It pains me to say it but I dnf'd this book at 36%. I pushed through as much as I could but I can't connect with this book. Both main characters come across way too immature and I don't understand their behavior. I'm also just not a fan of insta-love so this is just not the book for me.

This was such a fun filled romance with witchy goodness sprinkled in! Meg Cabot does what she does best in this book by bringing lovable characters. There’s the brooding and sexy stranger, Derrick, who comes to town with his tales of prophecies, the fun loving, Jessica, who lives to help other women look and feel gorgeous through her clothing boutique, and other magically adjacent characters who provide comic relief and magical conflicts galore.

Throw in a romance with a bit of spice, and you get the perfect book for the start of spooky season with lots of humor and positive attitudes about inclusivity. I loved everything about it!

Thanks so much to Avon Publishing for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I’m going to DNF at 25%. While I devoured every Meg Cabot book in the early 00s this book felt like it was written in that era. I’m not connecting with the characters and I feel like I’ve read similar plots in other witchy romances. Maybe witch romance is just like hockey romance, none of them are super good but they hit an itch for those who read them. I will still start every book Meg writes, this one just isn’t for me.

I’ve read several of Meg Cabot’s books and enjoyed them. This one just fell very flat for me. Her characters normally sparkle, but here they were dull. It’s almost like someone else wrote this book. Maybe Meg was having an off time. They can’t all be gems, after all. I did enjoy the magical aspects of the story. However, I felt the pacing was slow. Overall, it was just ok.

Enchanted to Meet You is book one in the Witches of West Harbor series by Meg Cabot.
If you are looking for a quirky and fun read with that small town setting, a plus size heroine and brings the entertainment all the way through, this is the one to grab! So much love for this one!!!
I laughed, I swooned, I laughed again!
Meg Cabot delivers an exceptionally entertaining and enjoyable witchy romance that will have racing through this spellbindingly swoon-worthy read.
A wonderful witchy rom-com. I’m so excited to read more in this series.

DNF @ 16% // i was on the fence throughout the first few chapters, but immediately lost interest once we got to the next POV and it was in third person.

I really enjoyed this book. The witchiness and spicy scenes were perfection. Derrick seems like a dreamy witch boyfriend. A wonderful witchy Halloween read. I'm so glad this will be a series.

This was a cute book to get you into the witchy season! Derrick and Jessica are adorable together as they work together to save the town from demons and keep the fact they’re witches a secret from the town.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for providing the ARC.

This was a cute witchy rom-com that started out strong, but finished kind of weakly for my liking.

It can really be summed up into two major issues: the insta-love between the FMC and the MMC that was very, very apparent from their first interaction, and the central conflict that went in a wholly different way than intended and left a lot of things unresolved.

I thought the book had a strong opening - the alternating chapters between current Jessica and her high school diary entries were a very interesting way to give information regarding the characters at the center of the conflict. But that is abandoned around 30% of the way into the book, and the rest is told from the present, even though there was a lot of stuff that occurred in the past that influenced what was happening in the future and it was no longer being explored.

Additionally, there was a lot of lead up to the main conflict that implied that things would go a certain way, and then it just didn't, much to the detriment of the story. It almost seemed like the second half of the book was written for a completely different story and it was not a great turn of events.

Overall, the book is fine. It has some cute parts, the mystery parts were interesting to figure out, and everything turns out okay in the end. But I wish the getting to the end was more structured and cohesive.

Honestly, I couldn't put this book down and had finished it within a few days! This book captures the fun, fall, witchy romance that you're looking for!

Jess is a plus-sized cottage witch who runs a cute, little boutique in West Harbor, CT. She's body positive, funny, and a relatable character when she reaches for the chocolate in stressful situations. (I get it girl!) One day Jess finds herself caught in the middle of a paranormal battle with the help of Derrick Winters and friends. She must overcome her own doubts in order to win this fight while also opening her heart to this handsome man that walked into her life.

It should be noted that the paranormal doom had a lackluster wrap up, but the story overall was satisfying. The humor, romance, and adventure in this book still make it a fun, light read for the upcoming fall season!

A fun and magical story and a delight to read from page one. Evil lurks in wait to destroy a small town unless witches Jessica and Derrick can stop the approaching evil. It doesn't hurt that Jessica and Derrick have a deep chemistry and growing attachment. Love and magic, sigh.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cozy Paranormal Small Town Apocalyptic Romantic Mystery. Holy shit, what a combination of genres we have here. This is absolutely one of those "cozy" mysteries you keep hearing about - there aren't any bodies or even any particularly dark secrets here, and the focus is more on the lighter, almost Hallmarkie, side of things. But there is active witchcraft involved in this small town... and possibly (absolutely) a few other paranormal elements, but that gets into spoiler territory. And the mystery involves an almost Buffy the Vampire Slayer type Apocalypse... but *only* for this particular small town. Yes, it may face annihilation but the world as a whole will be perfectly fine. And of course we have the requisite "Angel" type character for our more grown-up "Buffy", the dark and mysterious dude with serious connection issues yet who manages to "randomly" connect with our female lead. But hey, it all works, it all has a more relaxed yet serious vibe, there's quite a bit of humor and heart here. I mean, really... what more do you actually want? Bodies? Erotica? World wide catastrophe? Well, if you want those last three... as I've alluded to or outright said earlier in the review, this book aint that. But if you're looking for a more relaxed read by the fireplace or while the kids are at yet another practice or some such... this is a great book for that. Very much recommended.
