Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have been a fan of Meg Cabot’s since I was in high school which was quite a few years ago now. In fact, her The Mediator series is still one of my favorite book series so I was was super excited when I got approved for this ARC!

I loved this book! It totally put me in the mood for fall! This book gave major cozy witchy autumn vibes and I loved every second of it!

This story follows Jessica who is a cottage witch. She has been practicing witch craft since high school and is now a thirty something adult running a very popular clothing shop in her little town of West Harbor, CT. Life is going by as usual until a very sexy witch named Derrick shows up and tells her that she is the Chosen One and that she has to train another witch who is the Bringer of Light and together that they have to save the town from demonic forces.

Like all Meg Cabot books, the romance in this story was superb! The chemistry between Jess and Derrick was undeniable. I also loved that it was very much a grumpy/sunshine romance.

The plot of this book was also great! I loved all the characters and thought they all were really well developed. The twists toward the end of the book took me totally by surprise which I really enjoyed! My only complaint is that I felt like the end conflict was resolved a little too easily. I would have liked just a bit more action, but otherwise I really loved this book!

Definitely get yourself a copy of this book when it comes out on September 5th if your looking for a witchy romance to get you in the autumn spirit!

I am a Meg Cabot girly. I have been one since I was a preteen, and I will be one as long as she keeps writing books. Literally, she can do no wrong for me. Her most recent series Little Island was delightful and some of my favorites rereads during Covid. I have also been really enjoying the trend of witchy rom-coms that have been published a lot recently, so I thought Enchanted to Meet You was right up my alley! There were so many really cute parts of this book and the writing was really well paced but it just didn’t pull me in like her previous books have. Just because it wasn’t my favorite book ever doesn’t mean I’m not going to continue to read the series because I will (and everything she writes going forward!)

When I heard Meg Cabot was writing a new paranormal novel, I found myself hoping for something along the lines of her Insatiable novels. Instead, we got a romance with a witchy-ish twist.
I have unfortunately, not too long ago, already said this about a Meg Cabot book but there was absolutely no reason for these two characters to be together other than "the parts fit." Girl meets guy, it's been approximately 24 hours, why fight the non-existent tension any longer?
Also non-existent, for the most part, was any paranormal aspect. Other than a few witchy-ish moments it really didn't have much going for it, probably because it was too busy focusing on the main characters lusting (rather blandly) for one another and trying to convince themselves it didn't mean forever despite that that's what they both want, because why not?

A great wholesome witchy romance. I enjoyed the twists and turns we took with Derrick and Jess through their journey, it was nice that the story kept you guessing! I also really enjoyed that Derrick and Jess are basically regular people despite being witches. This made them much more relatable as characters!

This was an overall cozy fun and fast paced magically adventure.Lots of excellent banter, magic, Adventureland spunky side characters. Loved the plus sized witchy fmm and endearing protective mmc.

This was a fun, witchy book - perfect for Halloween season coming up! I liked the setting and the relationships between Jessica and Derrick and Jessica and Esther. I really liked Esther and wished she had been featured more. The climax felt a little too easy - I wish there had been some more meat to it. Overall, this was enjoyable and I would recommend it to those who like witchy reads!

Thank you to the publisher - I received a complimentary eARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a cute Halloween book! I liked that it had a little suspense, but wasn’t scary at all! I love books that can get me into the holiday spirit and this is definitely one of them! Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for allowing me to read this ARC in advance for my honest opinion.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager. I'm voluntarily leaving a review, and all opinions are my own.

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Romance
Spice Level: High (Full sex scene on the page.)
Representation: LGBTQ+ (two lesbian couples)
Tropes: Plus-sized MFC and a handsome stranger
Content Warnings: Mild stalking, references to witch trials and deaths, unethical usage of magic, sexual references and scenes. Some magical violence. (These are listed at the beginning of the book.)

I'm always torn when it comes to a Meg Cabot book: I love her writing and find it so engaging, but I also don't like sex scenes and know I will skip a few pages around 50%. That was true of this book too. There were also some crude sexual references that I didn't think were necessary. But I may be in the minority on that.

The town of West Harbor, Connecticut is fun and has that small-town feel. This is a fast-paced, plot-driven story with lovable (and hatable) characters. Jessica is incredibly relatable and has a fun posse of friends. Derrick has bad-boy vibes with his black clothes and brooding expression. He's got a *secret* too. But I won't let the tea spill on that one. I loved both Jess and Derrick. Esther was another character that was interesting—I'd completely misjudged what she was going to be like.

Magic is also fun in this book because there are a select few who are aware of it. The magically gifted try to keep their powers hidden from the regular humans.

I had a lot of fun reading this book and couldn't put it down.

If you love Cabot's books, this one is something not to miss.

I recommend this book.

Happy reading!

It's good to know that Meg Cabot, one of my very first favorite writers, is still out there writing delightful books. Enchanted to Meet You is equal parts goofy, lovely, fun, and witchy, which is pretty much everything I'd hoped it would be.

Jessica Gold is a self-taught witch who mostly uses her magic to help people find the perfect outfits at her clothing store. She learned her lesson about meddling any more than that in high school when a love spell situation went horribly wrong. So, since she's minding her own business, she's a little surprised when sexy, broody Derrick Winters shows up and tells her that she's the Chosen One and it's up to her to train the teenage witch who will save their town from the forces of evil.

Jess and Derrick had great chemistry from the outset, and Jess's other relationships - with her friends, with her nemesis, with the teen Bringer of Light - all have that trademark Meg Cabot charm. The dialogue was snappy, there were shenanigans, and, of course, there was magic. Basically, this book was super enjoyable.

It did, at times, feel a little rushed, though. I would have liked the tension between Jess and Derrick to slow burn a little more, since the fake dating element was so fun. And the climactic battle ended up feeling... a little anticlimactic after so much build up. The solution felt so simple - if earnest - that I ended up wondering what all the fuss was about.

Still, I had a lot of fun reading this book, and gobbled it up in just a couple of sittings. What more can you really ask for?

This was a delightful paranormal romance.

It had all of the lightness and joy that Meg Cabot brings to all of her books. The town of West Harbor had all of the small town vibes you would expect and you really felt like you knew what kind of town this was.

The romance was very cute and it definitely had some great banter in it. And I loved the body positivity that this book had.

I will say that I was really hoping that it would delve more into the magic system and we could learn more about the classes of the system itself. I do know that this is only the first book, so maybe we'll get more of that in later books.

It's definitely a very fun start to what I hope is a very fun series.

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for an arc of this book.

The last time I read Meg Cabot was 5th grade, The Princess Diaries. Although, it's a brand new release, reading Enchanted To Meet You felt very nostalgic. This is the first book of Witches of West Harbor series. Jessica Gold is a witch who made a few questionable magic choices in her youth. To her surprise, Derrick Winters, is a witch that claims Jessica is the Chosen One who will save her small town of West Harbor. They join forces to find & guide the "Bringer of Light", a teen witch named Esther to stop the evil from destroying the town.

This book is the perfect read for people from my generation. There were so many pop culture references that made me reminisce to my teen years. It's a fast-paced & sweet book with a few surprising twists. I loved the relationships with the characters. The banter was fun. Jessica is a plus size MC, but unlike other books it's not something that's constantly brought up, which was nice. This was a great start to the series & I'm looking forward to reading more from this world.

(This review is based off of an uncorrected e-galley of this novel)

I grew up reading Meg Cabot's books and was super excited to see this one come across my NetGalley feed. Unlike most of Cabot's other novels, Enchanted to Meet You is a novel for adults which was also exciting. However, despite the characters being in their 30s, they read much younger than that. I feel like this novel may be better suited as a new adult novel with some slight editing. Overall, a must read for fans of Cabot's past novels.

Thanks to NetGalley, Avon, and Meg Cabot for an e-ARC of this novel.

I thought this was a cute spooky season read. I did like the first half more than the second half. It had an interesting plot that at times was a little out there for me. But still a cute read.

This quick and delightful read was the perfect pre-fall treat. While romance isn't the central focus, it adds a touch of sweetness to the story without overshadowing its enchanting plot.

Exploring the different types of witches one could be was such a refreshing aspect. Although, I must admit, I wished for more development in terms of the magic system. I found myself yearning to delve deeper into the intricacies of this enchanting world.

The chapter headings as "spells" from the Grimoire were a delightful touch that added a whimsical element to the narrative.

The ending took me by surprise, yet I couldn't help but find it a bit lackluster considering the build-up. And speaking of mysteries, the notion of the other towns left me puzzled. Is that the ultimate solution for them all? If so, the vagueness surrounding the "Chosen One" discovery left me scratching my head.

Overall, "Enchanted to Meet You" is a delightful journey into a magical world, a perfect read to usher in the fall vibes. While a few elements left me wanting more, the book's charm and creativity shine through. If you're up for a light-hearted escapade, give this one a try!

Thank you to Meg Cabot, Harper Collins, and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

We could’ve had it all…

This was a cute read. Unfortunately I found the plot to be incredibly confusing at times, somethings started to piece together at the end but overall I didn’t understand everything that was happening. The Romance was also very scarce*cue the crying* Derrick was so cute and Jess was so funny, I loved them both but I felt as though they had zero romantic chemistry and I just couldn’t picture them together😭

Thank you to Avon for my review copy, I’m very thankful!!

This magical book gets a 10/10 rating from me. In my opinion, Meg Cabot is one of the very best writers in the last 20-ish years, and this newest addition does not disappoint. Jessica is a thirty-something “cottage witch” living in the small town she grew up in, surrounded by her best friends and high school enemy, running her own fashion boutique when a gorgeous man walks through her shop doors and declares her the chosen one, the only one who can protect the bringer of light and save the town. Sounds crazy, right? It is, but in the best way.

Derrick Winters is in West Harbor specifically to look for Jess. He was sent on a mission to find Jess, save her town from forces of evil that could destroy it, and be on his way to the next rescue. Of course, he didn’t quite expect to find someone so interesting in Jess, nor to become tied up in some long-lasting events from her past.

This was an epic Meg Cabot story, and will make an excellent series. Jessica reminded me of Heather Wells and Lizzie Nichols, Derrick was a mashup of all my favorite Meg Cabot book dudes (John Hayden, Cooper Cartwright, actually a lot of Rob Wilkins), and Dina had the perfect best friend attitude. And, of course, you need to have your mean girl/enemy, and Rosalie Hopkins certainly didn’t disappoint. The story in this book felt a little bit familiar (think the Melissa Joan Hart Sabrina the Teenage Witch) but also super different, and it was really pleasant to have a new slightly supernatural romance to read, with a smidge of real life witch history mixed in. I would definitely recommend reading this book to anyone, and if you don’t do spooky or Halloween (I don’t do either), this is an excellent witch read to pretend you’re in a Halloween spirit!

Meg Cabot & her books hold a special place in my heart. Her stories have been a significant part of my adolescence. Her main characters are always well though-out people who are a little quirky but also undeniably weird. They are confident in themselves (or grow confidence in themselves, like Princess Mia), which was empowering for me.

No one reads Meg Cabot books expecting a Pulitzer Prize-winning story of literary fiction: they read it because it’s a good time. The plot was a bit weak, with a vague premise of saving not the world but the singular small town. And Cabot’s endings are always rushed and lackluster - this one especially - resulting in a lot of buildup for very little payoff.

Overall, the book is cute and the worldbuilding is very interesting. I’ll definitely keep reading the series because I’m a Meg Cabot stan until the end.

Thank you to NetGalley, Meg Cabot, and Avon Publishing for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

MEG CABOT HAS DONE IT AGAIN! I loved this book - the witty banter, the blossoming romance, the hilarious friendship (and many, many text messages between them)!

Step into a world where magic and romance collide in Meg Cabot’s delightful rom-com “Enchanted to Meet You.” With her signature wit and charm, Cabot weaves a tale of a plus-size witch named Jessica Gold who finds herself tangled in a web of enchantments, otherworldly forces, and unexpected romance.

From the very first page, “Enchanted to Meet You” casts a spell on readers, drawing them into the quirky village of West Harbor, where Jessica resides. Once an impulsive teenage witch who dabbled in a spell gone awry, Jess now lives a quiet life, having been banned from the World Council of Witches. Imagine her surprise when Derrick Winters, a dashing WCW member, arrives with news that she’s the Chosen One destined to protect her village.

Cabot’s storytelling prowess shines through as she navigates the ups and downs of Jess and Derrick’s interactions. The chemistry between the two protagonists sizzles with each encounter, adding an extra layer of enchantment to the narrative. As Jess discovers her newfound powers and learns to trust her instincts, readers are taken on a journey that’s equal parts magical and heartwarming.

What sets “Enchanted to Meet You” apart is the way Cabot seamlessly blends the supernatural elements with relatable real-life challenges. Jess’s journey isn’t just about battling sinister forces; it’s also about discovering her own strength, breaking free from societal expectations, and embracing her true self. Her chic clothing boutique adds a touch of modernity to the story, making her a character readers can easily root for.

The book’s pacing is well-crafted, keeping the reader engaged as the mysteries unfold. Just when Jess and Derrick’s connection seems to be taking a magical turn, Cabot introduces twists and turns that keep the pages turning. The reveal of Derrick’s true identity adds depth to the story, forcing Jess to confront her own perceptions and biases.

“Enchanted to Meet You” is a delightful blend of humor, romance, and magic that will captivate readers of all ages. Meg Cabot’s skillful storytelling brings the characters to life, making them feel like old friends. If you’re in the mood for a heartwarming and whimsical read that explores love, self-discovery, and the power of choice, this book is a must-read. Prepare to be enchanted from beginning to end.
