A pretty good entry into the small town witch sun genre. I liked both main characters and there were interesting side characters. The climax was somewhat anticlimactic. It felt like a lot of build up for a pretty simple solution.

I haven’t picked up a Meg Cabot book in probably over a decade. I knew I’d read a few of her series growing up and loved them but I didn’t realize how many I’d read until I did a quick scan of her works. Though the memory of a Princess Diaries themed Christmas box probably should have tipped me off…

Anyway, it’s safe to say that I love Meg Cabot.

Enchanted to Meet You was a fun New-England-in-the-fall magical (literally), chosen-one, fake-dating-to-not-so-fake romance. It packs in a lot and sets it up well.

Sadly it didn’t have a great execution of what it set up and it lost me a little. I feel like this book was too short for all it was trying to do, and therefore we got surface level development and resolution. I would have gladly read another 200 pages of this story if we got to hash things out more thoroughly.

Would I read another story with these characters in this world? Sure. But I would go into it for a fun traipse, not a world building adventure like I expected.

This book was magical, it elicited so many emotions from me throughout the entire book, but the biggest one of all was simply joy. It’s the perfect cozy, witchy read. I can’t wait to read more from these characters and this world

This was such a cute, cozy, witchy romance. The dual POV worked well and this would be a perfect read for fall/Halloween. I enjoyed all the witchy-ness and magic but the rift that was going to be the end of West Harbor was disappointing. The plot was them getting ready for a battle but when it came time, nothing happened. There was no big event, no battle. It just went away. Besides that, I really enjoyed the story and Jessica and Derrick were adorable together.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars

This reads like a cozy romance with a little spice. I loved Meg Cabot's YA books when I was younger and I would definitely say that this book has the same feel and tone as those.

Jessica is a witch who doesn't trust the main society of other witches and meets Derrick, the MMC who is a witch that informs her that the town is in danger and that she has to help fix it.

I wasn't a fan of Jessica when she chose to believe her nemesis over Derrick, when her nemesis literally tried to kill her a few chapters earlier. Also, I felt so bad for Billy, who was just screwed over and over again.

If you’ve been following me for a while (or even just look at my profile picture lol) you know I love Taylor Swift’s music! So when I was scrolling through NetGalley and saw a book with a TS lyric for a title, I had to request it!

I’ve been loving fantasy romances set in the real world a lot recently. They are so fun to read about because they aren’t dense like normal fantasies, and they tend to have more of a focus on plot than most romances.

CHARACTERS: This is a dual pov book from Jessica and Derrick’s perspectives (mostly Jessica). Their romance was good, but I really think that the side characters Esther and Gabby stole the show! Every character served a purpose and had just enough page time for me to remember all of them.

PLOT: This book was really interesting! I feel like the magic system could have been more fleshed out, I don’t really know what the different types of magic are. The plot was great, but it all sort of led up to… nothing. I wish there was some giant battle or something else to make it a big finish. However, there was a plot twist where I literally put down my book for a few minutes because I was in so much shock.

There were occasional flashbacks to Jessica’s past during high school, which provided context for a lot of Rosalie’s actions throughout the story. I liked those a lot because it made sure there were no info dumps. We found everything out gradually.

I enjoyed reading this book a lot! I would love another book set in this universe! I’d love to go on more adventures with Derrick and Jessica, or maybe even a spin off with Esther and Gabby!

Will forever and always read anything that Meg Cabot writes. This was fun and funny and only a little bit spicy (which, to be clear, is the level that I prefer my spice). Apparently, this is going to become part of a series, and I would definitely continue reading more from this witchy world. Dual POV and I liked all of the little rules and spells that were included in the beginning of each chapter.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cute, witchy rom-com. I liked the characters. The story was interesting, although a bit different than what I was expecting. I enjoyed the now and then timeline at the beginning. I love a good fake dating trope too. Overall it was a cute story, though there were a few things I wanted to know that never got answered.

Meg Cabot's writing is seriously amazing. This book had the right amount of humor, magic, romance & fun to it.

Jessica & Derrick were the perfect pair to have navigated this journey together & I loved their banter so much.

Overall, it was a good witchy whimsical book!

Jessica started casting spells when she was a teenager and many went sideways. It has been fifteen years since she was told she could never join the World Council of Witches, yet Derrick has come to her small town to tell her she is the Chosen One. She must help the Light defeat the darkness that is about to arrive. Who is Derrick? Does Jessica have what it takes to save her town?

Enchanted to Meet You is the first book in the Witches of West Harbor series. This supernatural rom-com is light and funny, but it does have one very descriptive intimate scene … but only one. I almost felt as if the story went too quickly and I finished wanting more. This story is complete (not a cliffhanger), but the story arch has been created for an entire series for Jessica and some other characters. A fun witchy story in a world full of dark novels.

So cute! Loved the witchy and New England small town vibes. Perfect for the fall. It made me laugh out loud. Esther stole the show.

Sorry - but Meg Cabot can do no wrong. This is a perfect, lighthearted rom-com read under the soft witchy genre. I do hope this is not a stand alone book and we get to ride along for some more adventures of Jess and Derrick

I have been a fan of Meg Cabot books since I was a child and they are such a comfort read for me! Like her other series, the characters are charming and draw you in. I found myself caring about them, and gasping or laughing out loud several times. There were lots of twists and turns and I liked how they wrapped up the story. This is a cute, witchy, romantic comedy that everyone can enjoy.!

This is a book that will make you feel like it’s a crisp 60 degrees out, leaves are on the ground, and you’re bundled up in your favorite rustic colored blanket.

Enchanted to Meet You is a quick, cute story to follow and the character banter was really fun! I enjoyed Ester and Gabriella’s storyline so much! I thought they were adorable and couldn’t get enough of them! I’m so glad Dina & Mark were the voice of reason in this book because Jess seriously needed it! I’m also scratching my head as to why Jess trusted Derrick without verifying who he is LOL

The ending felt rushed and there needed to be more scenes that supported the plot (mentor/mentee), but overall it’s a good cozy autumn book!

As an elder millennial I squealed at the site of this book! Not only was Meg Cabbot the writer of one of my favorite characters; Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo (Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi in the Movies), Princess of Genovia while I was in high school but now she’s written about a novel about a curvy witch?! And as a curvy witch myself, I could not resist the urge to request this ARC and she did not disappoint! But could Ms Cabbot ever?
This easily captivating paranormal romance was charming and fun from start to finish. With the main character, Jessica Gold, being a self taught witch, it is no surprise that she would have messed up big time as a teenager while dabbling in the Craft. Enough so to find herself banned from the World Council of Witches for life.
After traveling once she graduated and opening her own boutique back in her hometown, she’s visited by Derrick Winters who sweeps into her life telling her she is “The Chosen One” and must work alongside a high school witch (“The Bringer of Light”) to protect their town from demons.
There is some over-shadowing of the love story that is brewing between Jess and Derrick by all the magic going on but it’s still a sweet unfolding of their own story within the mystical mess around them.
This is the perfect fall read, who doesn’t love magic and romance in a tiny coastal east coast town?

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to NetGalley and Harper Collins for graciously providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What can I say? I absolutely adored it! I had a fantastic time reading this book. Right from the first few chapters, it had me grinning like a fool and even bursting into laughter. This is a delightful and charming romantic comedy, and I couldn't help but fall in love with Derrick from the moment I met him. The tension, the build-up, and the series of events were all skillfully developed throughout the story, leading up to a satisfying conclusion.

However, I did feel that the major disaster that was anticipated didn't quite live up to its potential. I wasn't entirely sure how Jessica was truly "the chosen one," except perhaps in matters of the heart, and I found the resolution of the impending doom somewhat lacking in explanation. I wished for a more detailed or extended confrontation.

Nonetheless, I must admit that I found the ending incredibly endearing. The fact that everyone was safe, new friendships were forged, and Derrick and Jessica became a detective duo on a mission to save the world was simply heartwarming. This book was wonderfully charming and cozy, offering a perfect antidote to the epic high fantasy novels that often leave me feeling heartbroken and stressed.

Thank you Net Galley and Harper Collins for the ARC,

One of my favorite Meg Cabot books growing up was Jinx, another witchy book. I loved it so much I kept borrowing for the library. So it feels very full circle for me to pick up a Meg Cabot book as an adult and it’s also a witchy book!!!

We follow Jess who got banned from the World witch council from doing spells when she was younger to years later a member from the council telling her he needs her help in saving her town because she is the “chosen one” this book was fast paced, funny, charming and very whimsical if you love Practical magic, the small magic town vibes of Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown, grimoires, small cats and prophecies you will eat this up. I felt like this book gave me a warm magical hug! Add this to your fall TBR.

I’ve been reading Meg Cabot’s books since I was 13 yo, there’s something about her books that feel almost like magic, the way she pulls us in from the very first chapter and keep us entertained throughout the whole book. It happened with The mediator series, Queen of Babbles, All american girl, and now it happed with Enchanted to Meet You.

From the very first page I was pulled in and I couldn’t stop reading until the very last page, I loved Jessica and Derrick, I loved the small town of West Harbor and I loved the story.

Jessica is a self taught cottage witch, she uses herbs and spices to make smalls spells that bring good fortune, wealth and even love, she’s the proud owner of a shop called Enchantment, where she works her special kind of magic selling all types of clothes for the people of West Harbor.

The book starts with Derrick showing up at Jessica’s shop and telling her she’s the Chosen One, the person who’s going to help the Bringer of Light, who just so happens to be a teenager girl, to come into her powers and save the town from the forces of demons.

Enchanting to Meet You was a very captivating book, I’m glad I gave it a chance, and I can’t wait to find out if Meg’s going to write more about West Harbor, I definitely wouldn’t mind finding out more about Jessica’s brother, Ethan.

Thanks Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review

Can you imagine being a teenager and casting a spell on your crush? Only to have it come true 15 years later? This was such a cute read that had a great balance of love, comedy, and magic! I loved the banter between the characters and I often found myself laughing out loud. There is something about magic and witchy books that gets me so excited for Fall!

This was my first Meg Cabot read in a looooong time, and it was just as charming and fun as I remember her writing being. This was a quick and fun read with magical and witchy elements that make it a great choice for this upcoming fall. While there was nothing particularly groundbreaking, or that really stood out to me about this one I would recommend it to those who are fans of Meg Cabot or are looking for something cute with a witchy/paranormal touch.
