I have mixed opinions about this book. I have really enjoyed this author’s work in the past but this book came up lacking. What I enjoyed: The characters were endearing and funny. And of course, fell in love in a matter of days, which I guess I can overlook. What I did not enjoy: She hit the now-popular checklist of cultural hot topics - ethnicity, homosexuality, sexism, misogyny, pagan beliefs, to name a few - but I find it annoying when author’s throw those topics in their book seemingly just to check the boxes. Furthermore, the storyline builds to this big demonic fight that was to happen and it was the biggest letdown, lackluster resolution I have yet to read - and was wrapped up in only a couple pages. It left more questions than it answered and was disappointing.

Amazing!!! Meg Cabot’s novels have been in my life since middle school and I’m
So happy to have her in my life now as an adult. Her writing is pure good, funny, smart sexy and endearing. Body positivity and witches?! Sign me all the way up!

Delightful. As all Meg Cabot's books are. She has such a way with dialogue, and even when you think you're going to read it in the character of a prior book, she comes right out of the gate with fabulous, original voice and persona. It's always a joy to spend time in her worlds. It's a fast read, just flawless.

"Enchanted to Meet You" by Meg Cabot truly cast a spell on me with its enchanting blend of witchy romance and small-town charm. From the moment I delved into the pages, I was completely swept away by the magic of the story. This book is like a warm hug of supernatural delight that I didn't want to end.
I can't help but gush about how much I adored Jessica Gold, the relatable protagonist who finds herself in the midst of a whirlwind when Derrick Winters steps into her life. Their interactions are nothing short of magical, and the way their relationship unfolds had me rooting for them from the start. As I explored the quaint village of West Harbor alongside Jess, I felt a genuine connection to the characters and their world, making it all the more difficult to bid farewell when the story reached its conclusion.
Meg Cabot's storytelling talent shines brilliantly as she introduces a mix of humor, heart, and intrigue. The mishap-filled past of Jessica and the unexpected arrival of Derrick create a tapestry of emotions that kept me engaged throughout. As the story unfolded, I couldn't help but be charmed by the way Cabot effortlessly intertwines themes of trust, self-discovery, and the allure of the supernatural. "Enchanted to Meet You" is a captivating journey that left me with a contented sigh, and I happily award it 4.5 stars. This book is the perfect potion for anyone seeking a generous sprinkle of magic in their reading adventure.

THOUGHTS:
I want to thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for giving me the opportunity to read an e-arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.
YOU GUYS! This book! This book was what set off my spooky autumn ready vibes. This was one of the cutest witchy rom-coms! This setting in this book is LIFE! Small little coastal town in England and SCREAMS ATUMUN! Can we get a HHEEEEYYYY to a plus-size witchy FMC annnnnd she has a black cat (love it).
The MMC is also charming and handsome and has silver eyes that and witchy powers too! I related to Jessica’s and adored her character! The characters in this story are so well written they felt real to you. The storyline/plot here is perfection and I wanted to just jump in and live in this story. The author throws in some fun history, some fun facts, twists/turns and secrets along the way that keep you turning the pages. So much fun! I didn’t want to put this book down.
You HAVE to read this book if you love :
- Enemies to Lovers
- Fake Dating
- Slow Burn
- Witchy Rom-Com
- Dual Timeline
You HAVE to have this book on your TBR. It comes out September 05, read it right away, save it for Halloween, read it multiple times! You will fall in love with this author and her writing right away.

Oh wow! I found this book randomly on NetGalley to review and I am so so glad I was selected to read this. I loved this. I felt like I read this quickly. I couldn’t put this down and I needed this after the emotional read I read prior. Thank you so much!

This is my first time reading one of Meg Cabot’s works and wow I will definitely be checking out more of her books! Her prose is lovely, and her characters are so engaging and delightful. I loved how quirky and witty Jessica was, not to mention how much I appreciate the plus-size representation! Derrick was swoon worthy, I’m a sucker for a man on a motorcycle who also loves cats. West Harbor has the perfect small-town New England atmosphere that had me wishing I could visit in person. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a witchy and “enchanting” romance that will have you laughing!
Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager for providing an eARC via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me this ARC! Let’s just say you can’t go wrong in my book with a Meg Cabot book but if your looking for a witchy rom com with a pinch of nostalgia to it. This is for you. This book made me feel like I was reading a classic rom com movie that you watch where you live the characters, the banter and the fluff! I just felt so cozy reading this and it was perfect to read during this upcoming fall season!

I have been a HUGE fan of Meg Cabots for about 15 years. Being able to read this is a huge honor. As usual, Megs writing is pure perfection. This was such an entertaining paranormal romance and I could not put it down! I loved the body positivity and I love the chosen one trope. I cannot recommend this book enough and I am so excited for the next one!
This is a dream come true, thank you thank you thank you.

This book wasn’t for me, but I can appreciate that the book is well written. The characters have a lot of personality, the book is atmospheric (I can almost smell the fall leaves), and I think it’s a nice that there’s just a touch of magic. I can definitely see this being a fun read around Halloween. However, I think the plot is a little campy and takes too long to get moving. Jessica feels a little exasperating as our main character and I unfortunately lost interest because I couldn’t feel a connection to her.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance review copy in return for an honest review.
Meg Cabot is a longtime favorite of mine so I was really excited to receive this ARC. It was a fun lighthearted book that got me into the fall spirit early but it kind of just fell flat for me. I liked the parts from the past and I wish there was more of it so there was more background on the characters.

I have always loved Meg Cabots writing since reading the Princess Diaries as a kid. This book continues that streak. It was the perfect cozy, witchy, small town book I was hoping for. The characters and plot are fun and I have a great time reading this book!

Love the writing style overall and the premise is cute, but the dual timeline didn't quite work for me.

It was a cute cozy read for a fall weekend! I wanted to read this when I noticed one of my favorite childhood authors wrote it, a rom com with witches is always a good time for me. Is it the best romantic comedy I’ve ever read? No. But it serves some cuteness.
My biggest issue is the plot needed to be laid out more. I felt like at times I was reading two stories that were meshed into one. There’s a chosen one but also another bringer of light? We have a witch society that is mentioned but really not explained well. A mystery love interest who has a secret but also instantly cares for the main character for no reason. The spice is started but then fade to black which I know some look forward to.
It’s a decent read and a good palette cleanser.

🦇 Enchanted to Meet You Book Review 🦇
Rating: ⭐⭐
❝ I didn't care. I didn't care because I was the Chosen One. Chosen by him. ❞
❓ #QOTD What type of witch are you (cottage/kitchen, storm, hedge, green, cosmic, crystal, sea)? ❓
🦇 Small-town witch Jessica Gold teams up with a handsome, mysterious stranger to protect her quaint village. As the Chosen One, Jess must find the Bringer of Light, and together, they'll save the town from a demonic rift. While on this magical adventure, tall, grumpy, and handsome witch Derrick harbors a secret from Jessica, despite the instant spark between them—a dangerous distraction from their dire mission. Can Jessica, Derrick, and the Bringer of Light work their magic in time, or is the little town of West Harbor doomed?
💜 This spooky season read is bound to enchant and delight many readers. If you're looking for an easy, troped-up "Chosen One" plot just in time to drag out your Halloween decorations, this is it! Meg Cabot creates a cozy, small-town witchy romance that has all the potential of fueling your Buffy the Vampire Slayer or OG Charmed nostalgia...except it doesn't.
🦇 I'm surprised this was categorized as Adult Fiction / Women's Fiction, because Jessica came off as juvenile in the present and her high school flashbacks. Unfortunately, many of the other adult characters didn't come off as mature either. Rosalie still comes off as an elitist snob, and when she doesn't get her way, she breaks down in a childish tantrum. Jessica's ex (now Rosalie's husband) Billy has a bland yet innocent childlike nature as well. The weird, heteronomative jealousy that occurs seems awkward and misplaced. Honestly, the token queer teens, Ester and Gabrielle, come off as more mature than most of the adults. While I love a confident, curvey MC, labeling her as such doesn't make her an instantly loveable character. Unfortunately, the entire cast is very two-dimensional. Our so-called villains crumble at the first sign of...I wouldn't even call it conflict, because the would-be "showdown" scene was resolved with a speech. Cute, and maybe progressive, but a complete let-down for a resolution. The story begins with a dual timeline that suddenly dissolves, secrets are revealed too quickly, and every source of tension or conflict was too short-lived to matter. There's barely any use of magic; it's far too subtle. The characters and plot all lack the magic that truly would have made this story enchanting.
🦇 Recommended for fans of the Princess Diaries series (the maturity level of both MCs feels similar), Sabrina the Teenage Witch, or some quick, cute spooky season vibes.

🦇 Major thanks to the author and publisher for providing an ARC of this book via Netgalley. 🥰 This does not affect my opinion regarding the book. #EnchantedtoMeetYou #NetGalley

Thank you to Avon Books, Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for this early copy of Enchanted to Meet You by Meg Cabot!
Although I rated it two stars, I didn’t hate this book. It’s fun, quirky, and cute with witches and drama and a few spells.
However, when I first started reading it, I was confused. I guess this is the first rom com fantasy book I’ve read, and I just didn’t understand what “the rules” were. Like some people were aware of witches, and some still didn’t believe in them. There are different kinds of witches and some of them believe in a council, yet some don’t. I just couldn’t get a full read on the whole concept.
Throughout reading books, I can normally tell where it’s going or guess who the “villain” or the antagonist is, but that’s not the case with this book. I feel like the plot took random twists and turns that didn’t feel wrapped up in a roundabout way. I don’t know.
This book just wasn’t for me.
I can see the appeal for some readers, but the central theme and ending were anticlimactic in my opinion.

Another homerun from Meg Cabot, except this time in the form of a paranormal romance. I wish the romance between Jessica and Derrick was a little hotter, but the worldbuilding makes up for the shortfalls of the romantic aspect.

Meg Cabot's Enchanted to Meet You, was an absolute DELIGHT! A complete 5 star read for me!
I was engrossed by this book from the start. The nature of this book creates a gratifying aura while reading, from the coastal small town life, genuine laugh out loud writing, the magical world-building, and grumpy-sunshine feels! This book is filled with my favorite things, Grumpy-Sunshine, small town romance, and MAGIC! Think Practical Magic meets Halloweentown-esque.
The book follows a Jessica Gold a local cottage witch who owns her own boutique 'Enchantments.' During her fall into fall sales event a HOT mysterious man who introduces himself as Derrick Winters shows up looking for her, he divulges in a prophecy in which she is chosen to save her hometown with the help of the bringer of light. She must then seek the help of 16 year old to help save West Harbor in a matter of a week!
The characters are unquestionably lovable. Derrick Winters proves that chivalry isn't dead while being a grumpy man next to Jess who radiates sunshine energy. Esther is a fun quirky 16 year old who love astrology (an instant favorite for me as a fellow Scorpio myself), and is wise beyond her years. I will not stop recommending this book to people who enjoy RomComs as well as witchy spooky vibes. I am excited to see if there is more to come from the Witches of West Harbor!
Thank you to HarperCollins for the ARC approval, I cannot wait to own a physical copy!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publishing company and or the author for giving me the chance to read and review this book.
Love how the main characters interact.
Sweet magical romance.

Cute little town with witches? You already know I'm there! This was a fun little romantic witchy romp. Cute characters, cute chemistry, snarky LGBTQ teens, fun little familiar. Hope book 2 is about the besties bro & sis :)
