A delightful paranormal rom-com that I'm excited to see is the start of a new series. Jessica is a confident, plus-sized witch who uses her powers for good in her small New England hometown of West Harbor. When the tall, blond, and handsome witch Derrick mysteriously appears one day, telling her she is the Chosen One to help save her town from a demonic rift, Jessica has to team up with a powerful teenage witch to stop West Harbor from being destroyed. Add in some silly witch politics, a fake dating scenario that turns super-steamy super-quick, a great supporting cast, and you have the start of a really fun new series. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for a digital review copy.

I love a witchy romance. Something about falling in love and magic always gets me. As far as this story I thought it was just okay.

Jessica our main Witch was just a little bit silly for me. Nothing against her, but right away I knew this character wasn’t for me. The tone was just a bit off to my liking.

The premise is easy, she is the chosen one and has to save her town and a cute guy is gonna help her. Doesn’t get more basic than that.

I thought this book was just okay. Thank you NetGalley and Avon for the ARC.

I've been a fan of Meg Cabot for decades, so it makes me so sad when I say that I really could not get into Enchanted to Meet You. The premise seemed really fun, but the book lacked the sparkle Meg *always* delivers. This one didn't hold my interest, but I will absolutely be watching for whatever she releases next.

** thanks to netgalley and harper collins for my first ARC!** this was a plus-sized, paranormal romance that was cozy and fun! i loved the sapphic young couple & the way Meg Cabot gave jessica so much life. she used her magic to make women feel confident and loved & she just felt so genuine and fun. i finished wishing this town was real and i could visit and be best friends with jessica. i think the climax could have had a bit more oomph, but i always love a no-stress fantasy. overall, really enjoyed this one.

DNF at 10%. I just don’t think I’m in to witchy rom coms because this is the third book I have quit reading with a similar beginning. I decided to quit once she put a spell on her high school crash and they started hooking up in her parents yard. Just not a fan sorry 😞

I picked this up because I felt like a little cotton candy for my brain, and this delivers. It is the fluffiest of fluffy novels. Witchy heroine Jessica struggles against her arch-rival Rosalie in their small town lilfe because Rosalie's husband is in love with Jessica and all sorts of heteronormative jealous idiocy happens. Then love interest Derrick shows up and the super-predictable tropey "The Chosen One" plot plays out exactly as you'd expect, as we've all seen on innumerable shows already. TBH I didn't like Derrick, I really disliked his narrative voice in his chapters, and I didn't buy the happily ever after. But I liked Jessica surprisingly a lot -- much more than I expected to. I also liked her friends.

As far as the book overall, I liked the first half, but the second half is kind of a mess and the ending just falls apart completely. The fluffiness isn't the problem; you can write fluff and still have a plot that holds together like glue. It's just that this one doesn't and Jessica's witchy charisma isn't enough to hold things together. The side-couple Ester and Gabrielle are cute, incidentally, but I didn't care about their subplot whatsoever. If I were the editor and there was time, I'd send this back for a complete rewrite of the second half, but I'm not and who knows if there is.

Jessica Gold knows she’s not a great witch. In high school a spell when terribly wrong, and her nemesis has taken every opportunity to remind her of this. So when Derrick Winters shows up and tells her she’s the Chosen One who can save her town of West Harbor, she’s skeptical.

As the date of the looming catastrophe draws near, Derrick helps Jess see how powerful she truly is, even if he isn’t being honest about who he is. Can Jess trust Derrick about the apocalyptic event, even if he doesn’t seem trustworthy of her heart?

I grew up with Meg Cabot so I always get so excited for her releases and I am always a sucker for a witchy read so I was super excited for Enchanted to Meet You. Jessica Gold is a cottage witch with a big heart who finds her small town life upended by the arrival of Derrick Winters and his announcement that she is the Chosen One who will help save her town from its impending downfall. I wanted to love this book so much, but it really didn’t work for me. There was Meg Cabot’s signature charm and the characters were lovely but overall I felt it was a little lackluster. There was a dual timeline that I was really interested in but it dropped off in the beginning and even though it was a dual POV of Derrick and Jessica, I feel like I never really got to know Derrick still. Their banter and grump/sunshine energy together was super endearing and I enjoyed the unique magical talents though. And Jessica is such a warm and positive soul and just has so much love; I really enjoyed her. It’s sweet and heartwarming and overall a cute, easy read.

Listen, when I tell you I've been a devoted Meg Cabot fan since I was a teeny-tiny bookworm, I mean it! Her stories have whisked me away to whimsical worlds, and "Enchanted to Meet You" is no exception. It's like a shimmering potion brewed from pure magic and unicorn sparkles!
Now, picture this: Meet Jessica, a regular ol' cottage witch minding her own business, when bam! a mysterious stranger with silver eyes pops out of thin air. I'm talking surprise party for your senses, folks!
But hold on to your wizard hats, because this stranger drops a mind-blowing revelation - Jessica iS THE CHOSEN ONE! Can you imagine? Destiny handpicking her like a shiny apple from the magic tree! squeals
But hey, this ain't your typical witches-and-brooms tale. Oh no!
This is an adventure with a capital "A"! Jessica's got a date with destiny and an evil entity haunting her town - talk about a creepily good time! This evil has got a bone to pick and it spans centuries, and they're causing a real paranormal pickle.
So, picture this epic quest where Jessica's got to wield her newfound magic, save her town, and seek out the elusive BRINGER OF LIGHT! Oh my stars, it's like the ultimate magical treasure hunt!
Now, let's talk about our boy Derrick - dashing, with long flowing hair and those silver eyes that make your heart flutter. He's quirky, but it's the kind of charming that'll make you grin like a Cheshire cat!
And who's that 16-year-old firecracker named Esther? She's got more spunk than a mischievous fairy, and her teenage enthusiasm is infectious.
Oh, the mystery! The plot thickens like a bubbling cauldron.
Derrick's got secrets, and Meg Cabot kept us guessing like magical detectives till the grand reveal! Bravo, Meg, bravo!
Ah, but wait, there's more - a sprinkle of fairy dust on top!
Jessica and Derrick's love story unfolds with such sweetness, like a candied apple at the county fair. It's a connection that fits like two puzzle pieces - enchanting, but not too cheesy!
Now, I'll be honest - the final supernatural showdown might not be a fire-breathing dragon, but the real magic here lies in Jessica and Derrick's heartwarming romance. It shines brighter than a glow-in-the-dark wand!
Sure, the dual timeline at the beginning had me navigating like a magical maze, but once we got past it, was zooming through the pages like a book-loving wizard in a library!
In the end, "Enchanted to Meet You" whisked me away on a whimsical broomstick ride of adventure, friendship, and love. It's a magical journey where possibilities twinkle like stars in the night sky.

When Jessica gets a rare book of spells as a teenager, she becomes the witch she never knew she wanted to be. As an adult, this has helped her make her customers feel good in the clothing she makes and sells at her shop in small town West Harbor. When a mysterious man shows up telling her that she is the Chosen One and must help safe West Harbor, Jessica learns more about her abilities and those of others to fight the evil at work.

I am a long-time fan of Meg Cabot. This book brought the banter she is known for, great representation, and an overall fun read with a hint of supernatural. I liked that the novel included Derrick's perspective, but wished there was a little more in there. I liked him and Jessica as a couple, but despite the premise of the story, there wasn't a whole lot included about Esther's training and the doomsday at the end was a little bit of a letdown. Still a fun and enjoyable read!

DNFed at 9%

Thanks to the publisher & Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

Enchanted to Meet You by Meg Cabot started off cute with a heroine who comes across as resourceful, witty, & approachable, but there are a couple of early flashback segments to her life in high school—when she flexed some of her witch muscles on a crush—that give me the ick.

She uses a love spell on him & then they become physical, seemingly without his consent. Those chapters made me feel uncomfortable & I decided to DNF.

Cute and fun and cheesy and sweet and I loved every minute of it.

I figured I'd like this because Meg Cabot. And the Taylor Swift title. But I ended up really enjoying it. It has that signature Meg Cabot sparkle about it and I'm hungry for more of these characters. Not only were Derrick and Jessica delightful, the supporting cast of characters were as well!

This book has one of the best first chapters I've read, like, it was so funny and set the tone for the book so well!

This was a fun read, with a lot of witchiness and snark and humor, and I like the narration style as well, the back and forth switching between the past and the present. I was NOT expecting a certain "god-ly" twist in the book (iykyk), it's one of the craziest twists I've seen xD

TWs (lifted from the book) - Some unethical use of magic. Sexual references and scenes. Mild stalking and magical violence. Mentions of the execution of persons accused of witchcraft four hundred years ago. Magic spells (of Northern European origin).

There’s nothing like a good witchy romance to get me ready for fall. I loved the enchanted small town atmosphere (literally). Both the dual timeline and mysterious town magic kept me very intrigued throughout the whole story. The characters and their dynamics were so fun, and of course the romance was mesmerizing. The writing style was funny and charming; I really enjoyed this story!

Thank you Meg Cabot for this enchanting tale. Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This was an interesting book. The voice and tone are not indicative of other Meg Cabot books. Or at least it didn’t feel that way to me. Like many of her recent books you have the love interest. In this case you have a love interest who shows up to town under mysterious circumstances asking for help to save the town. Yet they are not willing to actually reveal all that they know until they must. Jessica herself is an interesting character. She is a witch who really doesn’t do a lot of magic, due using it in the past and messing up someone life. I respect that with her past dealings with magic that she is now more reserved. Yet I don’t really see how she is light that helps savior one save the town. She is a good mentor don’t get me wrong but the savior already seems strong enough to know what needs to be done to save the town. The saving of the town itself really felt kind of anticlimactic. I appreciate the tone and the important ideal that was presented and I fully support what was done. Yet as an ending of a supposedly cataclysmic event that could wipe out the whole town, it just felt like a bit of a let-down. I am still trying to decide how much I liked this book. I love Meg Cabot I have grown up loving her books, but this one just was not maybe my cup of tea.
Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

This book was a quick fun read that’s classic Meg Cabot. I loved the witchy elements, especially the way Esther was so involved in the history of the witches and how it pertains to local and current events (while still being a teen who is embarrassed by adults). Love the tropes of protective, instant love, rug in front of the fireplace, etc. There was a ton of cheese and corny love, but that’s what I want from a Meg Cabot novel for sure.

Let me start by saying, this book would be so much better in the fall! I read this book in the dead heat of a Texas July and this book is set in an idilic New England Town right around Halloween.

Enchanted to Meet You is a really sweet small town witchy novel where the main character gets the really cheesy but works in this cause "chosen one" title. She has to save her small town from something she caused as a teenager. This is such a cute set up. It is a little predictable and doesn't take it self too seriously.

Overall I really liked this book but I really think it would have played out better for me snuggled up under a blanket in the fall with something pumpkin flavored in my mug!

Jessica, a witch, is destined to save her sleepy town with the guidance of a hunky-long-haired-motorcycle-riding male witch Derrick, but will they do it in time? You have to read this book when it comes out September 5th to find out!

If you're looking for something witchy, empowering, and fun, you won't regret this one!

I loved the change of perspective between Jess and Derrick (I always love being able to see both character's thoughts) and the little spells or rules for witches that started every chapter. I really love to see how easy it is to subtly create a diverse cast (something I think Meg has always done a very good job at) and it's just refreshing to have most groups represented (plus also a plus size main character, we love)!!! And I'm a sucker for any Taylor Swift reference so she had me at the title. I'm excited for the beginning of a new series and to get to consume more of her books!

10 word summary: The witches' power will save us from curses and enemies.

I love Meg Cabot's book and this was no exception! As someone who doesn't love fantasy or supernatural books, Meg is the one author that I will explore other genres for and I think I love that most about her work. Her Insatiable series was an unexpected fave of mine and as was the Heather Wells Mystery series (coming from someone who hates anything remotely scary). But I think that's the power of Meg: she is able to take these elements and themes and weave them into a story that explores some deeper and sometimes darker topics, but without letting it devolve too far into the darkness. Her writing often captures my inner monologue and I can relate so much to her style of writing and the thoughts of her characters. Her books are so comforting and engaging in a gentle way. There doesn't need to be anything overly complicated or super realistic about these books, you know you're going to see strong feminist undertones with a sprinkle of accurate history about witches.

Thank you to Meg Cabot, the team at HarperCollins/Avon Books, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!

For long life, vitality, and attractiveness, drink wine. ~ Goody Fletcher, Book of Useful Household Tips

His lips on mine were a promise.

Shall we begin with the fact that Goody Fletcher headlines every single chapter from Jessica Gold’s POV in this books and it is gold (no pun intended😜)? Meg Cabot weaves a cozy yet classic and suspenseful witchy tale in West Harbor, Connecticut when a witch (not to be confused with warlock) comes to town and tracks down store owner/witch Jess and tells her she’s The Chosen One to end a demonic rift in the doomed town that she is now terrified came from a love spell gone wrong between she and her nemesis in high school over a decade ago. And of course, chaos, and romance, and hilarity, and sexiness, and suspense ensue. I absolutely adored the side characters in this, as well as the way Cabot handled the mundane daily part of Jess’s life that Derrick needs to now work around. The wolves and Pye were nice touches. I found myself enchanted with this book, turning page after page and truly unsuspecting of some of the big twists. I gasped out loud and then felt all the warm fuzzies with the way things ended. This story is spell-binding, and I would love to visit West Harbor again for more witchy antics. This is the perfect book to pick up for the fall season. Do it, and you’ll have a spell-binding good time!

You know I love you, don’t you? You’re the only thing my heart beats for.

Cute paranormal story featuring Jessica Gould, owner of Enchantments and a witch, drawn into protecting her town from a cataclysmic rift by a mysterious stranger. While overall I enjoyed the story, I found the beginning and its time switching slightly confusing. More whimsical than scary, as I prefer.
