Let me start by saying, this book would be so much better in the fall! I read this book in the dead heat of a Texas July and this book is set in an idilic New England Town right around Halloween.
Enchanted to Meet You is a really sweet small town witchy novel where the main character gets the really cheesy but works in this cause "chosen one" title. She has to save her small town from something she caused as a teenager. This is such a cute set up. It is a little predictable and doesn't take it self too seriously.
Overall I really liked this book but I really think it would have played out better for me snuggled up under a blanket in the fall with something pumpkin flavored in my mug!

Jessica, a witch, is destined to save her sleepy town with the guidance of a hunky-long-haired-motorcycle-riding male witch Derrick, but will they do it in time? You have to read this book when it comes out September 5th to find out!
If you're looking for something witchy, empowering, and fun, you won't regret this one!
I loved the change of perspective between Jess and Derrick (I always love being able to see both character's thoughts) and the little spells or rules for witches that started every chapter. I really love to see how easy it is to subtly create a diverse cast (something I think Meg has always done a very good job at) and it's just refreshing to have most groups represented (plus also a plus size main character, we love)!!! And I'm a sucker for any Taylor Swift reference so she had me at the title. I'm excited for the beginning of a new series and to get to consume more of her books!
10 word summary: The witches' power will save us from curses and enemies.
I love Meg Cabot's book and this was no exception! As someone who doesn't love fantasy or supernatural books, Meg is the one author that I will explore other genres for and I think I love that most about her work. Her Insatiable series was an unexpected fave of mine and as was the Heather Wells Mystery series (coming from someone who hates anything remotely scary). But I think that's the power of Meg: she is able to take these elements and themes and weave them into a story that explores some deeper and sometimes darker topics, but without letting it devolve too far into the darkness. Her writing often captures my inner monologue and I can relate so much to her style of writing and the thoughts of her characters. Her books are so comforting and engaging in a gentle way. There doesn't need to be anything overly complicated or super realistic about these books, you know you're going to see strong feminist undertones with a sprinkle of accurate history about witches.
Thank you to Meg Cabot, the team at HarperCollins/Avon Books, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!

For long life, vitality, and attractiveness, drink wine. ~ Goody Fletcher, Book of Useful Household Tips

His lips on mine were a promise.

Shall we begin with the fact that Goody Fletcher headlines every single chapter from Jessica Gold’s POV in this books and it is gold (no pun intended😜)? Meg Cabot weaves a cozy yet classic and suspenseful witchy tale in West Harbor, Connecticut when a witch (not to be confused with warlock) comes to town and tracks down store owner/witch Jess and tells her she’s The Chosen One to end a demonic rift in the doomed town that she is now terrified came from a love spell gone wrong between she and her nemesis in high school over a decade ago. And of course, chaos, and romance, and hilarity, and sexiness, and suspense ensue. I absolutely adored the side characters in this, as well as the way Cabot handled the mundane daily part of Jess’s life that Derrick needs to now work around. The wolves and Pye were nice touches. I found myself enchanted with this book, turning page after page and truly unsuspecting of some of the big twists. I gasped out loud and then felt all the warm fuzzies with the way things ended. This story is spell-binding, and I would love to visit West Harbor again for more witchy antics. This is the perfect book to pick up for the fall season. Do it, and you’ll have a spell-binding good time!

My hometown was sitting on the precipice of an apocalyptic disaster, and I was eating stuffed artichokes with the mother of my [redacted]-fake witch boyfriend?

You know I love you, don’t you? You’re the only thing my heart beats for.

Cute paranormal story featuring Jessica Gould, owner of Enchantments and a witch, drawn into protecting her town from a cataclysmic rift by a mysterious stranger. While overall I enjoyed the story, I found the beginning and its time switching slightly confusing. More whimsical than scary, as I prefer.

When I tell you how loud I screamed when the Arc of this landed in my inbox. Meg Cabot is one of my all time favourite authors and this is me peaking with my bookstagram. And it's witches! And a plus sized MC! The buffy/charmed vibes are immaculate and I love the cozy feels of the town and its eccentricities. I do think perhaps the ending could have packed a little more of a punch but I am so excited to see what happens next in West Harbor 💜

I think Meg Cabot's style of writing works better in her YA novels, but this was still cute and fun and would be a great pick for a fall weekend read.

Absolutely enchanting!!!!
Thank you soooooo much netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced review copy if this book💗
"I voluntarily read and reviewed the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

If you love Buffy the vampire Slayer and Meg Cabot's books, this will be a dream. I fell in love with this new world she created and cannot wait to dive into book two!

What a cute book! I loved Jessica and Derrick (as well as Esther, Dina and all the other side characters). This book is perfect for the fall and to get you ready for spooky season. The flashbacks to teenage Jessica added so much to the story.

One of the best books I’ve read this year, I love Jessica & Derrick, Esther. Everyone. Another favorite by Meg Cabot. Can’t wait to read more in the series. Thank you to HarperCollins publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.

Enchanted to Meet You, the newest adult book written by Meg Cabot, publishes in September. It features Jessica, a thirty-something cottage witch who discovers she’s the Chosen One. She’s found by Derrick, a super handsome witch, who tells her that, as the chosen one, she has to find the Bringer of Light to heal a demonic rift that threatens to destroy her town. Of course, there is her nemesis Rosalie Hopkins, another witch in town who is out to make Jessica’s life difficult.
This is the perfect read to get you ready for spooky season! There’s witches, magic, romance, a quaint Connecticut town, among other fall-ish things. I highly recommend you add this book to your TBR!

4.5
This book had it all. It also reminded me why I love Meg Cabot's writing so much. This book was a full dose of witchy campy romance along with quirky antics and feminist witches. I loved that the witchiness was on the sweeter and lighter side. Jessica was a fantastic FMC and I really liked that she used her powers to make women feel good about themselves. She was also plus sized and possibly Jewish which I loved to see! Derrick Winters was her perfect contrast. He was skeptical, a little stormy, and just the perfect amount of swoony. I couldn't put this one down—the friendships were done so well, and I thought every piece fit together nicely. I absolutely adored this book. Thank you to Avon for sending me an e-ARC to read and review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was pretty predictable other than one twist I didn’t see coming. It was a cute story overall. I would recommend it to fans of cozy witch stories.

No one writes quite like Meg Cabot and "Enchanted to Meet You" further proves that tenfold. Told in back-and-forth points-of-views, we get to see the first-person accounts of witches Jessica and Derrick as they team up to save her Connecticut town from supernatural demons. The writing is so compelling, which is just *chef's kiss* and keeps me very interested in the story. The characters (not just Derrick and Jess, although, they do) have such a quippy banter with each other, that has me screaming. The story combines the supernatural mystery (that I was dying to uncover, TBH) with a truly delicious fake dating trope. Honestly, I'm not a big spooky book gal but I really enjoyed this one because there's, like, an element of realism too.

This was a fun and quirky, low-stakes paranormal rom-com.
Our FMC, Jessica, is the Chosen One and has to help save her home town from the forces of evil before Halloween. How amazing is that?! I don’t want to spoil anything; however, I think this book will really appeal to adults who enjoy YA (especially those of us who grew up in the late 90s/early 2000s and loved The Princess Diaries).
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced readers copy to review!

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for this Advanced Readers Copy of Enchanted to Meet You by Meg Cabot!

I was really excited for this one, since I grew up with Meg Cabot (as I'm sure a lot of us have). Unfortunately, there was something about the writing style of this one that didn't really do it for me.

This is such a beautiful and romantic story, with a supernatural twist. The main character is a delight, and her relationship with her body image is another important factor. I highly recommend it to all those enjoying a good witchy read!

Thanks NetGalley and HarperCollins for providing this ARC!
Enchanted to meet you is a witch rom-com that focuses on cottage witch Jessica Gold and her love interest, Derrick Winters, who announces Jess is the Chosen One to help save her small town of West Harbour. Misunderstandings and witch rivalries ensue. Will Jess save West Harbour from destruction?
I have read almost all of Meg Cabot's work and, while a quick and entertaining read, I found this book to be subpar to her previous work.
The positives: the main characters are likable, there are romances and rivalries, and there are secondary characters that are well developed and would make great spin-off main characters.
The negatives: the story needs a bit more development, there are several unresolved plot points, and the resolution was anticlimactic.
Meg Cabot has a long list of great books, but this one missed the mark for me. I will not be reading any following books in the series.

Meg Cabot wrote a book about witches???
HELL YES.
This was such a fun read, and it was sooo meg cabot in the absolute best way.
The magic in this world was so fun and charming, and I loved Jessica a lot. This book gave me all the cozy book vibes. I felt very ready for fall and its like 107 degrees Fahrenheit outside.
I also LOVE Derrick, i need to protect him!
