This read like a YA novel trying to be a cozy adult fantasy. I remember liking Meg Cabot in middle/high school but it's been a while since then. Her writing is a little choppy and the story line jumps a little bit from place to place. Romance was also a little bit to instalove. Well, most of this book was insta-something. The lead up or lack thereof left little to the imagination. I really wanted to like it but while it is an easy read, I just didn't vibe with the book.

As someone who has read many Meg Cabot books and loved them in the past, this one was wonderful! It was such a fun mix of witchy and realistic elements and really flew by for me. I enjoyed that it didn't drag at all, but was still enough development that I was able to feel connected to the characters. I do think this left plenty of space for sequels, and I am really looking forward to them down the road. This was definitely a set up to get a taste of the characters and their relationships without feeling like their story is finished. There was nothing very deep in this book, but that is not what I look for in Meg Cabot's books. I look for a cute, quick read that is cozy and enjoyable, with enough to keep my interest. Enchanted to Meet You absolutely hit the mark for me!

I was so excited to receive an arc for this book, as I'm a huge fan of Meg Cabot's books, and this one is no exception; I loved this story and its characters so much. This book was funny, had drama and romance, while still focusing on plot and moving the story forward, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This was such a fantastic book!

Magic+Meg Cabot story telling= a good time to be had! This was a quick and fun read that had me on the edge of my seat, simple but interesting from the start. The love interest was charming and easy to like, even if it was a love at first sight type of thing, and the multiple points of view and flashbacks kept the book fresh and intriguing

Jess lives in Connecticut, owns a clothing store, and is a witch.  One day, a stranger shows up and tells her she's the chosen one. She must find the lighter bringer in order to save the town she loves. But as the danger to her town grows, she wonders if she will be able to save it in time.

This book was such a sweet, witchy romance.  It had a lot of enjoyable qualities.  I loved that it had a small town feel where Jess worked and used her magic for good.  She had friends who knew who she was and supported her.  There was a magical book and a rival witch who also wanted it.  It had an epic prophecy and a brooding hero with a secret who shows up in time to help her.  Jess was adorable and likeable and helps a young witch harness her own power.  There's also a debate over the importance of lineage.

My only complaint is the end felt a little anti-climatic. There was a really big build up for things to end so quickly.  I was expecting more of an epic battle.  But, this is the first book in the series so there may be more adventure to come.  I hope the other books are about Jess and Derrick because I would like to see what other trouble they get into. This is the perfect read to scratch the small town, fall, witch itch.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book charmed me! It was truly “Enchanted to Meet” these characters. I hope there will be more books in the series as even the minor characters are incredibly well developed.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC copy of Enchanted to Meet You.

I grew up reading Meg Cabot and an adult version of her writing is a dream come true! This threw me right back to Middle School reading Princess Diaries and Avalon High. This story was so unique and I flew through it. Very enjoyable and can't wait to read more about the Witches of West Harbor.

I'm a long-time reader of Meg Cabot, and I was excited to receive the ARC of this new witchy rom-com from her for review. Jess is a cottage witch running a small apparel shop in her hometown of West Harbor, CT. Derrick is a witch tasked with helping Jess fulfill a prophecy and avert an apocalyptic crisis in West Harbor, as Jess is the Chosen One, foretold to stop the crisis with the Bringer Of Light, a young teenage witch by the name of Esther. From their very first meeting, Jess and Derrick have instant chemistry as they work together to prepare to protect the town from unknown evil forces.
The novel is told from Jess and Derrick's point of view, and there are also chapters that flash back in time to when Jess was a teenager and first practicing magic and sets up the conflict with her arch nemesis in town, Rosalie.
Overall, this has the classic Meg Cabot feel, lots of fun, good strong female friendships, and an enemy you love to hate, and the romance was fun and a tiny bit spicy. The resolution of the foretold apocalypse of West Harbor is honestly very lackluster. I was left perplexed that it was over and resolved so easily.
With that in mind, I've decided to rate this book 3.5 stars out of 5 and am rounding down. It's fun and has good witchy autumnal vibes, but it loses steam and just ends far too easily in my opinion.
Thank you to Avon Books and NetGalley for the electronic ARC of this novel for review.

This book had a fun, fast-paced plot with great twists along the way! It was a classic witchy romance, complete with an end-of-the-world mystical threat, chosen one, and romantic stranger from out of the small town. But while the plot was fun and engaging, the main characters just kind of existed in the plot. I never felt connected to them, and they seemed a little two-dimensional throughout the book. But overall, it is exactly the fun witchy-rom-com that you can expect from the iconic Meg Cabot!

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Enchanted to Meet You was a cute romance with a splash of magic thrown in. Our heroine, Jessica, is very likable and while it is mentioned she is curvy we never hear anymore about it which I loved. It wasn’t what defines her character but rather her love of friends and her town.

Jessica runs a local clothing boutique which she uses her special kind of magic to help the woman of the town feel amazing in their own skin. While preparing for an upcoming ball celebrating the town, a blonde stranger who resembles a Viking god tells her he needs her help to save the town from a darkness that is brewing.

While, the book does have some slow parts, it overall is a fast read. I loved all the female friendships and the romance was sweet with just a touch of spice. Overall, I highly recommend to anyone that loves a little magic and romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for an ARC in échange for my honest opinion.

I was so excited to be granted an arc if Enchanted to Meet You. I love Meg’s Queen of Babble series. Seeing this involved witchy supernatural vibe I was excited. I was not disappointed. This was the usual fun read I can expect with some steam too.

This book is practically begging to be made into a Hallmark movie with its small New England setting, lovable characters, and sweet romance!

Likes:
Lovable characters.
Dual POV.
Semi-spicy.

Dislikes:
Resolution fell flat after great build up.

A small town in Connecticut requires the help of two witches to save it from a supernatural rift. The plot is interesting, and the build-up is all there; however, I felt the resolution ultimately fell flat and was not as exciting as I hoped. It felt as if there were a lot of things happening in the book and Cabot just didn’t care to tie things up.

In truth, I liked the characters enough to read the rest of the series once they become available.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for sharing the title. All opinions are my own.

Great, fun lighthearted book from Meg Cabot! I've loved her paranormal books since the Mediator series, and this adult novel strikes all the right chords for me. Jessica's magical ability flourishes in her clothing store, where she makes all her patrons feel their best. But outside of that, she's banned from practicing due to a mishap from her highschool year. It seems like the tables are finally turning in her direction when a sexy, brooding witch appears to share that she's the "chosen one". Hijinks ensue, both in the bedroom and outside of it. The banter is witty and delightful, there's a reliable cat appearance, and a few brooding love spells gone wrong pepper in some romantic triangle dynamics. Highly enjoyable. I'll read the next installment!

I was enchanted to meet you too.

Okay, now that I'm done crying over an unrequited love of Owl City (Poor Adam Young), let's dive in!

This book was good! I know Meg Cabot is an incredibly popular author and I haven't had much of an opportunity to read her writing up until this point. I really enjoyed her writing style, characters, and plot.

Enchanted to Meet You is a great story for fans of dramatic plots & will-they-won't-they bad-boy romance. It was a bit more on the spicier end than what I would presume Cabot is known for as well which was kind of refreshing. I also thought the humor was pretty enjoyable, but I could see some of it aging over time.

The characters: Let me tell you I felt so giddy inside reading a book featuring a Jessica that wasn't a complete.... should I censor myself here? Feminine dog. It's really rare to see Jessica's portrayed in a kinder light, and it made me feel incredibly happy and spoiled (Because my birth name is Jessica, I'm sure by my previous comments you can see why I hate going by it). I also adored all of the plot twists given by our mysterious bad boy Derrick Winters (A last name so cold, but a personality so cocky, you'll think it's Summers [Extra points for those who thought of X-Men]).

Returning to the plot & story formatting: there were a few minor details I didn't love. It was not always clearly specified when Jessica was a child versus adult towards the beginning of the book (The chapters go back and forth between the past and present). Also the ending felt incredibly rushed for the sake of expressing "There's more in the series". Don't get me wrong, I love a good cliffhanger, but this was more like a Cliff-stair a tiny fall and a feeling of "oh, so that just happened."

Overall, I'd rate it four stars. It was enjoyable, just had a few minor things that I felt really detracted from the book's quality.

Trope Bonus: Who did this to you trope & Slight Enemies to Lovers Trope

Enchanted to Meet You by @officialmegcabot is such a funny and cute story! 🤩

Blurb: It’s Magic When You Meet Your Match
In her teenage years, lovelorn Jessica Gold cast a spell that went disastrously wrong, and brought her all the wrong kind of attention—as well as a lifetime ban from the World Council of Witches. So no one is more surprised than Jess when, fifteen years later, tall, handsome WCW member Derrick Winters shows up in her quaint little village of West Harbor and claims that Jess is the Chosen One.

She’s the Chosen One
Not chosen by West Harbor’s snobby elite to style them for the town’s tricentennial ball—though Jess owns the chicest clothing boutique in town. And not chosen finally to be on the WCW, either—not that Jess would have said yes, anyway, since she’s done with any organization that tries to dictate what makes a “true” witch. No, Jess has been chosen to help save West Harbor itself . . .

As Summer Ends, Her Power Grows
But just when Jess is beginning to think that she and Derrick might have a certain magic of their own—and not of the supernatural variety—Jess learns he may not be who she thought he was. And suddenly Jess finds herself having to make another kind of choice: trust Derrick and work with him to combat the sinister force battling to bring down West Harbor, or use her gift as she always has: to keep herself, and her heart, safe.

Can she work her magic in time?

I have always been a fan of Meg Cabot ever since The Princess Diaries and she DID NOT disappoint!!! This book was soooooo dang good and hilarious. It depicted a small town that needs the Chosen One to save them and it works. Jessica and Derrick were absolutely adorable and the witchy vibes were immaculate!!! Cannot wait for the second book in the series. Thank you to @netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC!!! 😁🔮💜✨

Meg Cabot has been a must-read for me since 2001, when middle-school-me fell in love with "The Princess Diaries." I grew up alongside Mia, and eventually made the leap to Cabot's other series, and not once has she ever failed me. "Enchanted to Meet You" falls right in line with that tradition, supplying no shortage of smiles and laughs as we embark on a journey with cottage witch (and business owner of a boutique) Jessica Gold, the colorful characters who make up her circle of friends and family, and the mysterious Derrick Winters, whose appearance in little West Harbor, Connecticut, only contributes to the chaos that's beginning to bubble under the picturesque surface thanks to a magical rift that's purportedly ready to swallow the town whole. (Think Sunnydale, California, in the "Buffyverse," and its status as a Hellmouth.) I couldn't put this down, and I cannot wait to see what hijinks this crew gets up to next, if the series continues.

Meg Cabot doing a witchy romance is exactly what I didn’t know I needed in my life. I am so glad this is a series and will be sharing on my bookstagram numerous times!

A witchy small-town romance book that's perfect for the fall! Jess is a cottage witch - not affiliated with the World Council of Witches in any way - who teams up with hottie Derrick Winters in order to save her town.

I’m a huge Meg Cabot fan; in fact, my favourite book series ever is The Mediator series. I even forced my fiancé to go to Carmel during our last US road trip so I could see where Suze and Jesse lived in real life! So you can imagine my excitement when I was offered an ARC of her new book. I was promised witches, romance, laughs and major fall vibes, and I wasn’t disappointed. This book is the best romance I’ve read so far this year.

I can’t express how much fun I had reading this book, and felt like I’d been transported back to my early teens when I read Meg Cabot’s other supernatural romances for the first time. The story centres on West Harbor, a small quaint village where strange things have been happening. Picture the town from the Gilmore Girls but with a boutique clothing shop run by a witch (our main character Jess). Everything is ‘normal’ until Derrick Winters comes along, and he reveals that Jess is the Chosen One and that she must work with Derrick and others to save her village and friends.

The chemistry between the couples and banter was *chef's kiss*. I loved every minute of this book and cannot wait for the next one in the series. Until then, I will have to console myself with re-reading the Meg Cabot’s other books.

Thank you again to Meg Cabot and Avon Books for giving me an advanced copy!

This was a delightful book! I really love Meg Cabot's style of writing. Her descriptions bring the settings to life and I loved the relationship of the two main characters. The dress shop was wonderful and so were the secondary characters. I also thought that the idea of having the women convicted of being witches in the 1600's exonerated was terrific. I will definitely give this book a shout out on my social media channels. Thanks for the advance read.
