Enchanted to Meet You definitely had all of the typical Meg Cabot banter & sparks w/ a magical element that reminded me of Bewitched. I’ve read a lot of her YA books with a more magical element so to see her doing it in this spicy adult rom com was just the perfect blend! I loved the story, the characters & the pacing!

This is a really cute, fun rom com with a fresh take. The witchy plot is not something I've read before and I really liked the added dimension it gave the story. Of course, Meg Cabot has such a great author's voice and it was refreshing to read something by her again, since it's been awhile for me. I think this will be the perfect romance for the fall and around Halloween.

If you like witchy romance with strong female main characters, this book is for you!

I adored this book all the way until the ending. I loved the characters and relationships and the witchy romance going on, but then all of a sudden it was just kind of, wait what?!

No spoilers, but even with the ending being what it was, I still enjoyed the book. 🤪

I loved how Jess's character formed over the course of the book and we got to know her through her magic and spells in her youth. A love spell on her crush that went WAY too well and her arch enemy in her youth and as an adult, Rosalie.

When demons are prophesized to come to her small town and erase it from the earth, Jess finds out she is "The Chosen One" and she must work with "The Bringer of Light" to save their town. Esther, a 16 year old girl, is "The Bringer of Light". Esther also happens to be a witch, with a quirky fun girlfriend.

Overall, I'm glad I read it. Super fun premise and great character development. I just wish someone would have read the ending and been like...hmmm. let's keep thinking on this one! 😉

Absolutely loved this book by Meg Cabot. It felt a bit like Buffy, a bit like Jinx, and so true to Meg's unique style. Really excited to see who else we meet in this world!

Thank you Netgalley for an advance copy, all opinions are my own.

The author reached out to me via Instagram and asked if I would be interested in reading this book. I have never read anything else by her, but it sounded cute and I was intrigued!

I enjoyed the story a decent amount - I love the idea of everyone being able to perform magic and there being different types of witches in the universe, and it felt unique that the situation was about the fate of the town and not the world.

I also think it is cute that the town has to be saved by two people, which play off each other, and together they bring peace to the town. Two people pure of heart and willing to help others, no matter what is thrown their way. The characters are well written and I liked their interactions, and there were definitely some wholesome parts throughout the story.

There is quite a lot of build up toward the end too. The author really leaves us hanging on how the town will "end" until way late in the book, and it felt like we were gearing up for a totally crazy fight. Especially since we see the characters perform actual magic throughout the story (I mean, there is a whole scene about exploding pumpkins).

But then......the town is saved due to a speech. No big fight, just a character speaking their heart and wishing for change in the world. Wishing to right the wrongs of the past. Which, I guess, is not a terrible way to end the book, I just felt like it was a bit anticlimactic. There were a few points throughout that pointed toward "compassion being the answer," but there were also points where they practiced their powers and it really felt like they were gearing up for a Big Bad.

Even the "mean girl" of the story felt a little lackluster in the end, like she gave up on trying before the going even got tough.

Other than that, there is a romance aspect too. It was a little too insta-lovey for my tastes, and then there is some miscommunication near the end (gotta have that third act breakup), but I did like the middle parts where they were together.

So, overall, I thought this was a cute story but I am a little disappointed in the way it ended. The romance is a little insta-lovey and there is a moderate amount of spice, but the story is interesting and I like how the magic system was detailed out. I would be interested in reading another book in this series, but I will admit that I might not have read this book if it was not offered to me.

The first thing that comes to mind? WOW! What a book! I was expecting something that focused a little more on the "witchy" aspect which made me think it was going to be more serious but BOY was I wrong! This wonderful conglomeration of romance, comedy, plus MYSTERY was absolutely astounding! I'm not sure I can even put into words how much I enjoyed this book! Honestly, I was a little concerned starting out because I was like "this isn't seeming very rom-comish..." BUT the part of the book before the MMC shows up is equally as great as the rest of the book!
This book includes a dual timeline for the FMC, Jessica Gold, in the beginning so we can understand some of the things happening in current time! These flashbacks are happening in the early 2000s, while Jessica is in high school and I feel like that gave Meg Cabot room to bring in readers who have only read The Princess Diaries series (like myself)! I also love that Meg Cabot has something in her books that I would like to call her "voice"! There's almost always an aspect of strong independent females and feminism that is so refreshing to see, whether it be in an adult romantic comedy or a YA series about a teenage princess! I don't often talk about things so "abstract" but I just feel like this needed to be pointed out and celebrated!
I can't wait for this book to be published because I NEED some people to talk to about the movements this book takes because DANG! I mean it had romance and comedy but it also had an element of suspense! I never knew what turn the book was about to take and I always LOVE a big plot twist and might I say, Enchanted to Meet You has quite a few!
I'm picking up/hoping that there may be some more Witches of West Harbor novels coming out, based on the last chapter and am DYING to return back to West Harbor! I mean c'mon I need a West Harbor merch STAT! I could probably go on and on about this book but to summarize I loved this so much, cannot wait for more, and hope that SO many people check this wonderful fall/Halloween book out (or before... it's good anytime!)!

Enchanted to Meet You was a cozy small-town romance wrapped in a touch of magic.

I struggled to get into the story at first because there is an awful lot of info dumping happening in the dialogue between Jessica and Derrick, then Jessica and her group of friends. Yes, I wanted to know more about the story's setup and magical world, but no, I didn't need to consume that information all at once before I even got to know the characters.

The story jumped back and forth between current and past events, which tended to take me out of the moment. While this ploy did draw out the story of the ill-fated love spell, I would have rather a different literature tactic been used.

However, once we finally get to the actual storyline, a mixture of old vendettas, impending disaster, and using your voice to right old wrongs, the story was much more entertaining.

"'You know this is basically the beginning of every supernatural horror film ever made, right?'" - Jessica

Jessica is fun and quirky, and we as readers know this because she wears a yellow jumpsuit and rambles a lot. Just kidding, but man did the author lay it on thick in the first couple of chapters! Thankfully the personality trait exaggerations settle down a bit and we get to know Jessica more for her generosity and genuine helpfulness towards others rather than her wild fashion choices and speed talking.

Derrick was an odd character to pin down, he was very protective of Jessica off the bat but also guarded. He fell quickly for her, and also the small town of West Harbor. I wouldn't call it love at first sight, but within a day or two they were more a couple than not.

Since the storyline took place over a short time, the chemistry between Derrick and Jessica didn't have enough time to build up. Despite the graphic sex scene, I wouldn't consider this book particularly steamy. There are more fade-to-black and mentions of sex than anything else descriptive.

I loved the West Harbor community, all of Jessica's family and friends, and the world-building of magic being something anyone can harness. However, the end was rushed and anti-climatic considering the high stakes and continued hype of demons. I would have loved to have seen Jessica actually mentor Ester in magic instead of just showing up everywhere she was to keep an eye on her.

With all the witch and magic books out there nowadays, this one was just an okay read for me.

This book was so fun! This was the first book I've read from this author and I really enjoyed it. The story was different from anything I've read recently and really captured my attention. It was so well written and the characters were fantastic.

I received an early copy of this book in exchange for a review. The overall feel of Enchanted to Meet You is cozy with some heat and a bit of mystery. I enjoyed feeling like I was in the middle of West Harbor getting to know these characters and then feeling like I was part of the town.
The characters feel mostly grounded with just a touch of exaggeration and I enjoy the little glimpses of the past that give context to relationships. However, even with that context there seems to be some missing pieces. I see it as the result of being dropped into the middle of a town so there's some things you don't know but some people might find it distracting.
Nothing shocking happens in the plot but there are enough turns to prevent it from being stale.
There is a bit of romance with spice but nothing more than what you would get on network tv.
This is a good book to read on the beach or a rainy day.

This was such a fun and sweet story. The characters are well thought out and multi-faceted. There's a whimsical element that will make you smile and feel happy. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This book is PEAK Meg Cabot (in the best way). Sweet romance, quirky antics, laugh out loud humor, simple yet effective magical world-building, and a healthy dose of feminist commentary about witches.

Jess and Derrick were great leads. I was intrigued by Derrick and all his secrecy, but Jess and Esther really stole the show. I loved Jess' passion for fashion and how she weaved magic into her work. Esther was a fascinating character and I'd love to see her explored more in later books!

The setting was also really lovely. Small, coastal New England town feel with impeccable spooky season vibes! This will be a perfect read for autumn!

Although the stakes were high, there was something cozy mystery-esque about the plot. It never felt too serious or dangerous. Instead the setting and plot felt very comfortable and familiar, with the small town shops and people doing each other favors. More sweet than salty.

All in all, I loved this book and I'm really excited for the rest of the Witches of West Harbor books. There are a lot of supporting characters I would be interested to explore.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for allowing me to read the arc of Enchanted to Meet you. This novel was such a fun read. I remember being a teenager and believing I had magical powers. Jessica Gold is a character we can all relate to when it comes to adulting and dealing with being a women who is independent, vulnerable, and strong minded. I loved her relationship to Derrric. Derrick is a workaholic but he’s the gentalment, and he couldn’t help but realize who he wanted and his drive to protect is what our witch needed in her life. This novel is full of adventure and Meg gave us a great book. I hope there’s more books to come as I’m obsessed with Jessica and Derrick.

“I’m fairly certain the powers of evil are resistant to pepper spray”
This paranormal romance has ties back to when many of us went through a phase when we were younger where we wanted to be witches and for magic to be real. Jessica finds a way to turn this fantasy into a reality where witches are integrated into everyday life. Not only has Jessica figured out the key to magic, but one day a gorgeous male witch shows up on her doorstep to let her know that it is up to her to save her hometown. The story then takes off as Jessica has to figure out how to save her town from destruction and whether events from her past have come back to haunt her. On top of all this Jessica and Derrick try to figure out what is going on between them. Plus Pye is the black cat familiar we only wish we could have!

Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. I honestly loved both Jessica and Derrick, and their interactions were wonderful to read. I felt instantly drawn to Jessica and I really identified with her. This book does include both the chosen one trope and faking dating, but I loved how Meg put a twist to both tropes that kept the reader on their toes. There were many times I found myself laughing out loud because of Jessica’s witty retorts. I also love the concept of magic being a part of nature and it comes to fruition through good intentions and work.

I grew up reading Meg Cabot and this novel certainly did not disappoint as it had all of the pieces that have made me love her work. For anyone already a fan of her work this is an automatic pick, and for anyone looking for a solid romance with a little bit of witch craft then look no further! I highly recommend this book and I will be picking up a physical copy to add to my Meg Cabot collection!

Thank you to Meg Cabot, the team at HarperCollins/Avon Books, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!

This had a fun premise with a man coming into town and proclaiming Jess Gold the chosen one or at least the chosen one to help the actual chosen one who will save the whole town from a rift forming from a unforgivable act in the past that needs to be forgiven. It definitely read more YA sometimes then adult and I really enjoyed her best friend Dina and Mark. This was a good fun, cozy, witchy read and perfect for fall to put you in a spooky mood.
Thanks to Avon Harper Voyager and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

Jessica Gold is a witch who might have accidentally cast a really bad love spell in her teenage years and ever since has been banned from the World Council fo Witches yet 15 years later a handsome stranger from the WCW shows up and tells her that she is the Chosen One and that she has to help save the city... except someone is trying to kill her. Jess is a witch, she accidentally cast a spell that had a fairly bad turn out... and made her a lifelong enemy in another witch in town. Now, Jess is just trying to run her clothing store and stay out of everyone’s way... until a handsome stranger shows up saying he needs her help in saving the town. Yet the more time Jess spends with Derrick the more she falls for him... but the real question is, can she trust him? Why is someone after her? This was an okay witchy rom com, it just felt like it was missing something. Overall if you enjoy witch romances definitely give this a go.

*Thanks Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

Absolutely loved this magical witchy story. The characters were so lovable and I would love to see their stories continued. Several plot twists I didn’t see coming and an ending that just tied everything up nicely.

I was thrilled to be given a chance to read an advance ebook of Enchanted To Meet You. It was everything I love about Meg Cabot books: witty and fun! Plus, it's my favorite color (purple), and the title reminds me of one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs.

This witchy, sa-woony story captivated me from start to finish. There's magic, a hot love interest, a mean girl villain, a heroine you can't help but cheer for, and a cat! I loved the focus on body positivity and female friendship.

Enchanted To Meet You is a great combination of Practical Magic and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I highly recommend it!
