This was fun and reminded me of how much I loved Meg Cabot's books when I was younger. I really enjoyed the romance, it was sweet with a tiny bit of spice (only one semi-explicit scene) which I honestly preferred in the case of this book. It's definitely a witchy rom-com type of story. Very good vs evil, black and white, mean girl versus good girl narrative. It reminded me of a Hallmark movie, but in a warm and comforting way that I like as an adult woman who enjoys cheesy stories. I'm curious to read future books in this series! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy!

Super cute book with all the fall witchy, small-town, romance vibes.
I enjoyed it, but thought the overall story was a bit slow and the love between Jessica and Derrick was definitely insta lovey. Overall, I think this is a cute witchy book that is perfect for the fall cozy vibes.

Okay, this book? I LOVED IT. The romance is a delightful potion of fun and magic. The book's witchy and fun vibes, coupled with the enchanting world-building, make it a really exciting read. If you're looking for a light-hearted and enjoyable escape into the world of love and enchantment, this book is the perfect choice

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books, and Meg Cabot for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I’ll be truthful, I have always LOVED Meg Cabot so to read a book in a new series by her at 33 was such a treat! This book was the perfect balance between magic, witches, and real life and I just loved it! My only complaint was trying to follow along with some of the names of the characters (definitely a me thing)! It was fun to read a new spin on witches that didn’t mirror the norm! I can’t wait to see where this series goes!!
This one is available now and I hope you consider adding it to your TBR!

‘Enchanted to Meet You’ by Meg Cabot is a seasonal foray into a world of witchcraft and romance, blending lighthearted humor with a dash of magical intrigue. The story centers around Jessica Gold, a self-taught witch, and Derrick Winters, a natural-born witch from the World Council of Witches. Their journey in the charming village of West Harbor is filled with magical challenges and a budding romance that seeks to bloom amidst chaos.
Cabot crafts a world that is cozy and inviting, with her signature humor sprinkling charm throughout the narrative. The magical elements, including Jessica's grimoire and the enchanting setting of West Harbor, add a delightful layer to the story. The humor shines, especially in the interactions between Jessica and her quirky friends, which are a highlight of the book.
However, the portrayal of Jessica, a plus-sized witch, feels lacking in depth and nuance, and at times even a hurtful stereotype. The book misses the opportunity to present a fuller, more empowered depiction, often overshadowing her character development with other plot elements. The chemistry between Jessica and Derrick is somewhat lackluster, with their romance feeling rushed and lacking the spark one might expect from a rom-com.
The narrative is at times overburdened with too many plot points, leading to moments of confusion and a feeling that the story could benefit from a more focused approach. Derrick's character, while central to the plot, lacks the charisma and depth to make him a compelling romantic lead.
Despite these shortcomings, ‘Enchanted to Meet You’ has its moments of charm and wit, with Cabot's writing style providing an easy and quick read. The small-town magic vibe and the cozy atmosphere make it a pleasant book for a casual read, especially for those who enjoy a blend of magic and insta-lust.
‘Enchanted to Meet You’ is a sweet, if somewhat superficial, addition to the witchy rom-com genre. It offers a light-hearted escape into a world of magic and mayhem, but falls short in delivering a fully satisfying romantic journey; it's a book that entertains but doesn't quite cast the spell it promises.

A darling little novel about a cottage witch who owns a charming boutique in a small, walkable New England town...the Sabrina the Teenage Witch vibes abound. It's perfectly escapist and low stakes, has several memorable characters (Dina, Jessica's best friend, is my favorite) and Cabot's signature quirky writing style. I've been in a reading slump and this helped drag me out of it.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

I love Meg Cabot, but this ultimately didn't work for me. The heroine was really grating, and I felt the whole book to be a bit disjointed. There were too many things happening, that I found myself not really caring about any of the problems as they all seemed low stakes due to the fact there were so many and focus was being pulled all over. I find Meg's work to be so fun and charming usually, but this left me wanting.

The Taylor Swift references were so so fun to me! I loved both the main characters and thought it was a very captivating read. Thank you to NetGalley for the arc of this book!

This was an interesting and enjoyable story about finding your identity, your own self-worth, and love. I love the witchy elements and enjoyed the overall premise of the reluctant chosen one.

This is an enjoyable read! Full of interesting and likeable characters in an (almost) familiar setting.

This was such an adorable witchy read! It felt like an adult Halloweentown. This book included an older witch helping a young witch discover and hone her powers in order to save the town and a very sweet budding romance. The build up to the conflict was great but the climax and the resolution fell a little flat and was rushed through. I thoroughly enjoyed this book but it was too easy to get to the HEA.

Meg Cabot does it again! I've loved the familiar voice she uses for all of her main characters since the Princess Diaries days, and the warmth shines through yet again in Enchanted to Meet You. As always, Cabot created a fleshed out world in her small town and the FMC, Jessica, feels very relatable, despite her magical powers. The FMC, Derrick, feels mostly realistic, although he can be somewhat obtuse. The only minor quibble is that the ending felt a bit rushed, I would have liked either for the book to be a bit longer or the beginning a bit shorter to give the ending a little more time. It was so well written leading up to it and I was looking forward to the climax, but it felt like it was over too quickly. Overall I loved the book and if NetGalley would let me give 4.5 stars, I would!

✨ 2.5 stars ✨
i wanted to love this so bad. the potential was there but it just wasn’t enough to deserve more.
west harbor is a witchy town that is going to experience a rift that will destroy the city. a random man shows up and tells jessica that she is the chosen one who can help save said city with the help of some random teenage girl who is the bringer of light.
the story lacks chemistry and a solid foundation. parts of it were fun to read but it was insanely hard to power through and it didn’t have the wow factor or substance that it needed.

This was a cute, frothy read. Nothing felt too high stakes, the inevitable misunderstanding was quickly cleared up, and I never once felt the need to yell at the female mc to stop believing the woman who had lied and mistreated her since high school. I did feel bad for Billy, though. I would have liked to see him finally move on.

Bestselling author Meg Cabot returns to the romance field with a new novel to kick off a brand new series: The Witches of West Harbor. Releasing on September 5th, Enchanted to Meet You is full of supernatural hijinks and adventure.
This supernatural romance started off a bit rocky and made me confused as to how the past and present connected, but eventually this book found its groove and I was interested to see what was going to happen next in this small town romance.
Honestly, this book is just a light and fun read about some witches trying to save their town, so if you’re looking for something profound or emotional, you’re not going to find that here. But if you’re looking for a cutesy binge read to pick up during spooky season, then this is a great choice.
Fans of cozy spooky season reads will definitely want to add this romance to their TBRs!
*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

Unfortunately struggling to find anything I enjoyed in this book.
The main plot was messy the resolution was rushed and unsatisfying
The romance was unbelievable
The spice was cringey
This book may have been better as a y/a book that spent more time in the conflict then the forced romance.

Two things about me: I love a good HAE, and dose of witchy magic! So, Meg Cabot delivered BOTH! I thought this book was cute cute cute! Jessica is a witch who gets pulled into a mission to save the world. Though the chemistry between Derrick and Jessica felt a little confusing at times, I loved experiencing their teamwork to help train the new witch and basically prevent total destruction. I am looking forward to book 2!

Magical! I absolutely loved this read. Meg Cabot has been a favorite in the past, but this is my most recent read of hers and it did not disappoint.
The characters were all likable and well developed. The story flowed and felt extremely fast paced. I love a good story of magic!
I definitely recommend this one.
Thanks so much NetGalley for the ARC.

It took me longer to finish this book than I was expecting. When I saw the title and author, I was excited! Meg Cabot was a pillar in my taste of books as a younger child. While reading Enchanted to Meet You, I was excited....until I wasn't. I loved seeing plus-size representation in Jessica Gold, the witchy FMC. She's flourishing. What irked me about her was her tendency to eat her feelings. It felt a bit stereotypical, that she automatically turns to chocolate when things go bad.
Then there's the MMC, Derrick Winters. Strong, dark, and mysterious. He could have been the perfect secret bad guy, or a guardian turned lover. While there was a bit of the latter, it felt rushed. One minute he's telling her that her town is in danger, the next they're sleeping together. I wish there was more substance to their relationship timeline.
I also felt like the ending was rushed. They spent the majority of the book in domestic bliss, talking about the impending danger and evil.," but when it came time to face said evil, I was underwhelmed.

This is a: magical realism/romance, it's was a departure for my usual reads and was a breath of fresh air. Thank you for the opportunity to read and recruit this fun book.
