Jessica was just great. Her strength and little comments were just so on point. I fell in love with her story and couldn’t put it down. I loved Jessica and Derrick together.

This entertaining paranormal romance completely captivated me from start to finish. I found myself eagerly diving into the pages during my writing breaks, unable to resist the allure of Jessica's story and the enigmatic silver-eyed Derrick. The book's enchanting purple cover only added to its allure, beckoning me to delve deeper each time I reluctantly put it down. (I must commend Meg Cabot for earning the adoration of Swifties by cleverly choosing "Enchanted" as the book's title.)

This one took a while to get going and seemed to be all over the place. The plot never really seemed to come together and the story was difficult to find a connection to until the last few chapters. I really wanted to like it but I couldn't get into this one. I have read other books by this author and had hoped that this one would be along those same lines but was disappointed. The ending feels rushed and hurried.

Unfortunately, this book didn’t do it for me. I was looking for a cute seasonal romcom, and in that sense, it delivered. However, the resolution of the main plot point was incredibly anticlimactic, the plot was pretty convoluted, and the characters lacked depth, not to mention the immaturity throughout—like being hung up on high school feuds well into your thirties. I hope this book finds its readers; it just wasn’t meant for me! 2.5 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my review.

I absolutely love this book! It’s such a sweet story that’s perfect to get you in the Halloween spirit.

Jessica is a young teenage witch learning to use her powers when a spell goes very wrong and she earns a lifetime ban from the World Council of Witches. But when a mysterious man from the WCW shows up on her door requesting her help to save the town from impending doom, she decides to save the town herself. Derrick explains there was a long ago mystery that will affect the future of the town. To fix this she must work along with a baby witch who is still in HS. And on top of that, it’s a busy time for Jessica as it’s West Harbor tricentennial ball and she owns a boutique in town. Can she stay focused on saving the town and not distracted by how handsome Derrick is? Or wonder why she is the chosen one?

This story was adorable. Jessica was a great main character- she was genuine, hilarious and a great small business owner. I loved that she was plus sized herself and she helped her customers find clothes that in which they felt their best. She and Derrick had great chemistry and fun banter, although I wish Derrick had been a little more honest with Jessica. She shared more than he did.

Thank you @avonbooks and @megcabot for my gifted ebook. Enchanted is out now!

I enjoyed reading this book and loved the witchy fall setting of the book, however the story itself was a bit simple and I was disappointed with the ending as it felt very rushed.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐
SPICE: 🔥
Jessica Gold is back home in Connecticut. After moving away to forget a childhood incident that involved magic gone wrong and banishment by the World Council of Witches, she is trying to find her forever-home, looking to embrace a lifetime of singledom and cat motherhood.

Enter Derrick Winters. He comes bearing news that Jessica is the key to saving her small town of West Harbor from a magical threat, a task that will bring back the WCW and other entities she has long buried in the past. But Derrick is not forthcoming with all of the details.

As he comes in and out of her effort to save West Harbor, she finds herself drawn to the mysterious man. Having experienced heartache from when she was younger, is she willing to put herself out there not just for love but also for magic?

This was a frustrating read. I love, love, love Meg Cabot, and the premise of the story had so much promise. Looking forward to this read was certainly an understatement. I had wanted to love the body positivity aspect of the read, but the incident involving Jessica when she was in high school just gave me pause. Listen, we all thought we were in love with someone who was out of our league when we were young, and I can certainly understand the desperation of getting their attention. But that spell? Sigh, I was not too keen about the read going there.

I pushed through the read, hoping that I would find redemption in my patience, but the plot was just all over the place and the chemistry was just alright for me. Derrick's mysterious charm and Jessica's fashion sense were the bright spots of this book, which is why I am giving it three stars.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Meg Cabot, Avon and Harper Books, and NetGalley for providing an ARC. **

I wanted to love this more than I did. I felt it read so much more YA than adult, however it was a fun, spoopy, fall read. I thought this was a case of packing too much into a romance novel. While I'm for suspending disbelief in romance, I felt that there was so much packed into this, I never really got a grasp on the magical world enough to really sink into it. The same goes for the heroine and her love interest. The plot of this book takes place mostly over a week, and the insta love trope really did not do it for me. I think this book could have used more character development and a little less plot to really make it a solid read.

Thank you so much for giving me a chance to read this! I had very high hopes for this one and unfortunately, it didn't quite deliver. I thought it was cute overall, but I definitely would've loved to have seen more of the romance development before the I love you was dropped. It seemed very insta-love to me and after seeing the fake dating trope, I wanted to actually see it on the page. I will probably pick up the other books in the series, not sure if this will be a series of standalones or not, but a standalone would be good.

I liked the premise overall, and the end was pretty fun, but the big issue I had with the book was the relationship. It didn't feel earned, if that makes sense. They didn't talk much, but suddenly there was cunnilingus on the carpet, out of nowhere.

Honestly, I read everything Meg Cabot writes. After discovering her Mediator series as a teen, I've devoured her books like coveted Halloween candy. Enchanted to Meet You was the perfect witchy rom-com to kickoff my spooky reading season. Mortal danger, sizzling romance, a quirky cast of lovable characters and a cozy small town, what could be better?!

𝑬𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖 by Meg Cabot was an absolute delight to read! The book had everything I love – small-town romance mixed with magic and fake dating. The setting was perfect for the spooky season, with a small coastal New England town vibe that was enchanting. The humor, hijinks, and magical world Cabot created were fantastic! Moreover, there is a high school nemesis who you'll love to hate that amps up the action-packed story, keeping you on the edge of your seat.

Jess and Derrick were such an intriguing couple, and their slow-burn romance added an extra layer of emotion to the story. I couldn't get enough of Derrick's mysterious background and nature. Jess's creative outlet for her magic through fashion was also very cool. It was amazing to see how she empowers women through her boutique and helps them feel good about themselves.

The entire cast of quirky characters added to this cute story, and I can't wait to see more of them in future books. 𝑬𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖 was a fantastic book, and I'm already counting down the days until the next book in the 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙒𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙤𝙧 series comes out! Make sure to grab a copy of this one!

Thank you, @netgalley and @avonbooks, for the eARC of this wonderful book!

🥀Enchanted to Meet You Review 📖✨

3.5/5 ⭐️
🌶️

I thought this was a cute read. I was a little confused on what powers Jessica really had, but enjoyed the story. The love story felt bit insta love and I didn’t relate to any of the characters.
I thought it was odd how the FMC POV was in 1st person and the MMC POV was in 3rd person. It was different take and I wasn’t entirely sure how I felt about it.
Some scenes skipped around a little bit without much of a transition, but I liked the plot!
Also, who calls spaghetti sauce - gravy? 🍝That’s a new one to me. 😂

Summary:
In one week, the rift will open in West Harbor. Jessica Gold must team up with a high school witch, Esther, to help save West Harbor from doom. Will they be able to succeed and save the town?!

🥀Dual POV
🥀Witches
🥀The Chosen One
🥀Strangers to lovers
🥀Fake dating

I've read and loved so many of Meg Cabot's books but the newer ones continue to fall flat for me. The plot just isn't there and the romance continues to be lacking. Not sure if this is a me getting older problem or what but they just are not working for me.

Thank you to Avon, NetGalley and Meg for allowing me to be an early reader.

This was cute and reminded me why I’ve loved Meg Cabot books for so long.

Set in a quaint seaside town in CT, Jessica is informed she’s the chosen one needed to save her town from demon forces. Derrick is the leather wearing, motorcycle riding bad boy who comes to town to inform her of her role and train her before the big show down.

There’s some mean girl vibes, forced proximity, teenage spells gone wrong, fade to black romance scenes, and an ancient grimoire.

I enjoyed the cottage witch elements and the magical system. This added to the cozy, fall vibes of the book. The romance between Jessica and Derrick is what I expect from this author - sweet and easy going. But I wanted more from the magical battle at the end.

I felt a little let down that the plot about getting ready for the big magical battle just fizzled out with barely a bang. I was hoping for magical spells flying all over the place with people ducking and sending back a spell of their own.

I’ll definitely keep reading the series because the entertainment factor is there.
