It was a Hallmark movie with a little, (a lot) more spice. And I enjoyed every minute of it! So, so good!
This is book number 12 in the Twilight, Texas, series. Noelle Curry is back in Twilight to work, they call her the wedding whisper, but when she spots her old crush Gil, all bets are off. Noelle is the Wedding Whisperer hoping to plan two Christmas weddings at one time. What a delightful read, the town of Twilight. This is a small-town love story about two people who knew each other when they were younger but this is not a second chance romance.
The beginning seemed a little too Hallmark like but then the tone changed and became more enjoyable. I did like the realistic vibe with the children and keeping the interest of the children while trying to pursue a relationship. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity.
Great ending to the Twilight series! I really enjoyed reading about Nicole and Gil's story. The characters are well developed and offered everything I could want from a cute romance in Twilight!
When the Town of Twilight has a double wedding being planned by Nicole Curry she never dreams she would also find what she is missing in life. Gil is a single father and a lifelong resident of Twilight. He remembers Nicloe from when she spent time there with her grandparents. Nicole has her hands full with this double wedding. Gil does his best to help her.
THis was a good book. I read it quickly and even though I haven't read all of the other books in the series I was able to keep up.
Overall a cute romance book. I enjoyed Noelle, Gil and his daughter Josie. We get to see Noelle in her wedding planning element a lot which was fun. We get a lot of moments with Gil and Josie (who lost her mom and I’d being picked on in school). As a born and raised Texan I didn’t appreciate Gil’s sometimes there sometimes not “accent” and some of the words he used because we don’t use them and it sounded wrong. Other than that I flew through this Christmasy romance.
It is great to be back in Twilight, Texas! The Christmas Brides of Twilight is a quintessential holiday story of this magical town that celebrates love and Christmas traditions abundantly. Noelle Curry is back to plan a double wedding on Christmas Eve and the next six weeks will be busy and she needs to stay focus on the job and her future plans. When she stays at a local B&B she runs into her teenage crush and neighbor Gil Thomas, a single dad and who’s only gotten more handsome over the years. Turns out they will be working together to host the double wedding and run into each other a lot. Noelle is only her temporarily and Gil would love nothing more than for her to stay.
Lori Wilde has done it again in writing a delightful, romantic holiday story. The two main characters have a history and a definite chemistry between them. The snow, the ice skating, surrounded by family, only add to their attraction and these two feel the magic growing between them. The host of secondary characters definitely add another dimension to the story and enriches the romance that is developing between Noelle and Gil. Both Gil and Noelle see what is really important in life and that they have to grab it while they can. I highly recommend The Christmas Brides of Twilight for all those that love small towns and holiday romances.
This was a great festive Christmas read, that I would definitely recommend trying!
I received an e-ARC from the publisher.
I LOVE Lori Wilde! Hands down between the stunning cover and the author I didn't even need to read the descriptor. I loved Noelle, The fact that this was a Hallmark Christmas story with spice. My only downfall is that I don't think I got to read any prior in this series which I will be fixing very soon!
Loved this Christmastime story and reading about Noelle and Gil! Story flowed and was well written!
I loved this one!
I have not read any of the books in the series and it did not impact anything for me while reading this one.
I love all the nostalgia and Christmas cookies. This book is a holiday hug and just rings in the joy of the seasons it’s the perfect holiday pick me up.
Candy Canes and Kisses
Everything you would want in a quick, light-hearted romance, with all the candy cane-flavored schmaltz of a Christmas movie and appropriate numbers of children and singles needing love, plus lots and lots of Christmas bringing everyone together. The whole package is written with skill and humor and provided me a delightful few hours of entertainment, which is all one could ask.
The Christmas Brides of Twilight by Lori Wilde is a super cute and fun read. It is most definitely a Christmas book, but I read it in January and enjoyed it just as much as I would have had I read it leading up to Christmas. It is the story of Noelle Curry, a wedding planner extraordinaire, that has come back to Twilight, Texas, the hometown of her grandparents where she spent many summers, to plan a televised wedding of two sets of identical twins marrying each other. Upon returning to Twilight, Noelle sees her teenage crush, Gil Thomas, and she isn't able to get him out of her mind. The story follows the two of them reconnecting as friends and considering becoming more, but also being aware that Noelle will be going back to Los Angeles in six weeks. This is the kind of book that when I wasn't reading it, I wanted to be reading it, I kept trying to grab more free time to immerse myself into Noelle and Gil's lives. As this is #14 in a series, I look forward to going back to start fresh with the first book, the town is adorable and so are the majority of folks living there.
This was a Hallmark Christmas story with spice. I loved it. Noelle is the Wedding Whisperer hoping to plan two Christmas weddings at one time. Her disbelief in love might be her downfall. How could a wedding planner not believe in love?? Then she sees her highschool crush, Gil. Will sparks fly? Gil is the sweetest cinnamon roll, i just wanted to eat him up. He was just what Noelle needed. I cannot wait to read more by this author. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
A very sweet holiday read! I enjoyed this romantic story. It seemed almost Hallmark-ish. The characters and setting contributed greatly to the story and the ending was very sweet.
Once upon a time, Noelle Curry’s refuge from her famous mother and father was the small town of Twilight, Texas where she could visit her grandparents and experience the life that all kids should have. In that town, she fell for the boy-next-door, Gil Thomas, who had dreams of a music career. Years later, Noelle finds herself back in Twilight as a successful wedding planner (after planning several of her famous mother’s marriages) and comes face-to-face with her crush who has grown more handsome and gallant, but he is now the father of a little girl who must come before anything else. What will happen as Noelle plans the weddings of two sets of twins while discouraging her own heart in Lori Wilde’s The Christmas Brides of Twilight?
Honestly all of the elements that should have made this a stellar Christmas romance were there. A picked upon little girl whose heart was aching to have a mother. A lonely woman longing to have a relationship. Good people reaching out. But I didn’t feel it.
I liked Noelle and respected her. I initially liked Gil but was not a fan of how he treated Noelle when a tough situation arose.
That said, I loved the ending and found it made up for a lot.
Many thanks for the publisher for sending me a copy to review.
Noelle Curry has returned to Twilight to showcase a double wedding of two sisters on national television. She is shocked to see her teenage crush Gil Thomas participating in the polar plunge. Gil is a single father who gave up his singing career to move back to Twilight to raise his daughter in the small town. Noelle will be leaving after the wedding but is falling for Gil and he feels the same. Gil is hoping to convince her to stay in Twilight.
Thanks to Lori Wilde and Harper Voyager for the book
A Fairly predictable Christmas romance. But sometimes you just need a quick read to break of the stress of the season.
A cute holiday read about a wedding planner, Noelle, returning to Twilight, the town that holds fond memories of times spent with her grandparents and of a long-ago crush, Gil. Noelle picks the winners of a contest, a set of twins marrying twins, and sets out to plan their wedding as part of a reality show. While staying at Gil's sister's B&B, Noelle gets to know him as a man, becoming just as charmed with him as when she was a teenager. However, she's only in town for a short time, what kind of future can they truly have?
I enjoyed this quick Christmas read. The characters were fun and warm. Josie, Gil's daughter, was an adorable piece of the love story.
The book The Christmas Brides of Twilight was an enjoyable read. I would recommend any book written by Lori Wilde. Happy Reading!
I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
