This is the 3rd book in the “Denver Men Series”. Chance is a sexy single alpha ex-FBI agent and working part with his brother’s security firm as a private investigator. Rachel is still mourning the death of her military husband who was killed and busy raising twin boys and not really looking for romance. Chance is looking for information on a kidnapped newborn baby and lands on Rachel’s door step. Rachel’s sister is somehow involved in the kidnapping and Chance thinks Rachel may have some leads on his case. Chance has no idea why he seems to be so drawn to Rachel and her twin boys and now he is thinking about raising a family and that is Rachel and her twin boys. Rachel brings something out in Chance that makes him want and need to be there for her and help out with the twins and if that means being a family so be it. He is game since he wants Rachel and the boys in his life.
Can Chance convince Rachel to open up her heart again and let him be there for her and the twins, what does Rachel’s sister have to do with the kidnapped newborn, will Chance find the kidnapped newborn, is there a chance for Rachel and Chance to have an HEA?
I received an ARC via NetGalley and Relay Publishing and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
This third book in the series, is more like a continuation of book 2. If like me, you have not read it, you might feel you’re missing important information. At least, that was the case with me.
The story centers on two characters whose siblings were the main characters of book two.
Chance Jacobsen, former FBI agent, works as a consultant in his brother’s security and is determined to find out if the sister of the woman who saved his brother’s life, was involved in a kidnapping.
He never expected to be enchanted by widow and mom of twins, Rachel. From the moment he meets her, the attraction is evident, but Rachel lost her military husband and has no interest in getting involved with another man that puts his life on the line.
The plot felt more like “spending two months in the lives of these individuals”. Sweet but not much more.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
FBI Agent Reluctant Lover, is book three in this series. It felt like a filler. No suspense what so ever just the closeness between Rachel and Chance. The bond that they grew in a short amount of time between the two of them and her twin sons. It was okay but not what I came to expect from Leslie North's books.
Another brilliant story from this author. I loved this book, the plot, the characters, everything about it was perfect.
It was okay, I felt the story was very fast paced, the heroine was a bit immature for me. The writing was great.
This was a fast and fun read. I like the tie in to the others in the series. I think she does a good job making them content while still allowing for them to be stand alone books.
I received an advanced reader's copy of FBI Agent's Reluctant Lover (Denver Men #3) by Leslie North from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Overall, I quite enjoyed this novel and it made for a quick, easy read.
The main characters - Rachel and Chance - were an interesting match. Chance, an ex-FBI agent turned PI, and single mother Rachel were pretty adorable. They were brought together through their siblings’ adventures in the previous novel of this series, connected from first meeting, and just had scorching chemistry from the start. All in all, this novel was well written and the plot was engaging.
