I thought the premise of the book was interesting - a supernatural mystery/thriller, but it could've been executed slightly better. The book definitely captivated me in the beginning, I liked the how we were able to read about Val's "dreams" and how the author describes the scenes and the characters! However, I found the ragg storyline a little difficult to follow and the middle of the book does seem to drag on a bit (though it does pick up in some places). The book also seems to have mini-plot holes, which don't interfere a lot with the storyline but do make you wish they were answered.

There is a mix of genres in this unusual book - mystery, sci-fi, thriller and even skirting on the edge of horror. The author’s experience in the medical field shows in the realistic descriptions and insight into how things were done - not always in a nice way, but it does add a sense of realism to the book.
