I love to read about puppies. This is good for a beginner readers. I work with preschool age and they would enjoy this story
This book was so adorable, I loved everything about it, the illustrations were so well done, they suited the book perfectly, the story was amazing as well, even thought is very short I could really connect with the characters.
I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was.
I will definitely recommend!
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy
Pleasant message of positivity, love and kindness, as a brief poem tells us of a dog called Happy and the message it brings to its young owner's family. The rhymes are fine enough, the meter not always there but not ever unreadable, and the visuals suitably colourful, without being kitsch. It's not something I would ever buy, but Happy wouldn't want me to be unkind, and I'm not going to be.

Thank you NetGalley and MK Author Marketing Services for accepting my request to read and review Happy Makes Me Happy.
Wow. A beautifully written love for a dog and friendship with its little girl. Happy the dog exudes goodness and the story works on the belief that kindness can be learned by means of a pet.
The illustrations are cute. I loved the facial expressions.
This is giftable.
This was a short and sweet book about a dog. It rhymed and it would be good for early readers. The illustrations were fine, though a little simple.
This is a story about a puppy that makes his girl happy.
MK Author Marketing and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has been published and you can get a copy now.
The dog loves his little girl and when he gets tired he sleeps on her lap.
As time goes on, The girl learns to be happy, too.
It's not a long book but your child will enjoy reading it!
I love the message this book teaches to kids about animals, specifically dogs. They love us unconditionally and are always so happy. We really do learn a lot from them and it’s great this book focused on that. I also like the illustrations and how simple they are.
What a cute children’s book! This would be a perfect book for any age child. I read this to both my 1.5 year old son and 3 year old daughter. I love children’s books that aren’t too wordy so it holds their attention. There were great lessons in this book like sharing and being kind to others. My 3 year old was able to ask questions and was happy to see the photos of the dog. I would buy this for my next children’s birthday gift!
Happy Makes Me Happy is a sweet, heartwarming picture book that would be appropriate for preschool or kindergarten-aged children. The story is narrated in short, rhyming phrases by a young girl who is talking about her dog, Happy, and how he inspires her to be kind to others. Brightly colored, full page illustrations depict the girl playing with Happy, along with her friends and her family. Although the illustrations are sweet and joyful, I don't think they are anything special. Neither is the story/writing itself. It would have been nice to see a small specific example of how Happy is kind to others. Overall the book is just kind of a generic story with cute pictures.
Thank you NetGalley and MK Author Marketing Service for this ARC. I read this book to my daughter and she enjoyed it! I really enjoyed the illustrations and thought this story flowed very well. I really enjoyed the lesson of being kind to others this story teaches. It makes a great addition to the shelf. 🤍
Thank you so much to MK Author Marketing Services and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
An adorable rhyming story of a little girl and her love for her dog Happy. This was really cute and shows exactly how much dogs can mean to people and to children. Happy plays with her all day and makes each day happier for the girl.
I really enjoyed the rhyming of they story and I enjoyed seeing their friendship and how the dogs behaviour being so gentle and kind guided the girl in that very same direction. I love that this story is a beautiful tale of true friendship and a true connection that someone can have with their dog.
It’s an easy and sweet read and I’m certain any young dog lovers out there with want to read this story and look at the illustrations of happy the dog over and over again. It was very sweet.
This is a cute children’s book which is perfect for early readers in preschool through first grade. The illustrations are very simplistic, but nice.
If you've ever been owned by a dog, my hunch is you'll find yourself smiling as you read this book. Illustrated by Blinky, Michael Barnes' story of Happy and his girl made me smile. The colors used add to that soothing, happy sense as they're of the earth with touches of brighter colors and, oh, that beautiful blue sky with the birds and butterflies. In fact, the repetition of the sky art, neatly coupled with the next picture of the action, is somehow soothing, I decided after pondering the why of it. In a rhyming narrative, repetition adds to the sense of peaceful, all is right with the world while preparing us for the next scene.
Happy the dog appears to be a spaniel type and, yes, he's a smiley, happy dog. So is his girl. Interesting that Happy is the only character named in the narrative, a hint on where our focus should be. Happy is seemingly a gentle, loving dog, always ready for adventure or to share a lick or smile. Oh, that tongue. His girl and her friends are diverse, both male and female, I'll note. When the parents enter the scene the woman/mother is wearing a dress of sunny yellow as the man/father seems to be grilling their meal. The friends and, of course, Happy, remain. One nice, subtle scene shows the children and adults holding hands and forming a circle around Happy, again making that happy dog the focus. Great interaction.
That night, after her friends have left and it's time for a last cuddle and bedtime, we see Happy without his blue bandana for the first time. It's hanging from the girl's bed's headboard while Happy, well, happily snoozes in his comfy bed beside it. We even get a peek at what he's dreaming about via a thought bubble. I bet you can guess it was a happy dream.
As someone owned by a dog, albeit mine claims whatever percentage of my bed that she so wants, I thoroughly enjoyed this lovely children's book dedicated to the author's own daughter. The message is simple, love others and treat them with gentleness. The illustrations and rhyme of the story makes it a delight to read. Thank you #NetGalley and #MKAuthorMarketingServices for letting me enjoy my lovely day with Happy and friends.
“Happy Makes Me Happy” made me happy after reading it! This is such a sweet rhyming book about kindness. We can learn so much from animals and this book shows learning love and gentleness from a dog.
Thank you, Netgalley and MK Author Marketing Services, for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Happy Makes Me Happy is a sweet story about the pure joy that a dog brings to a little girl's life. Happy is a puppy who gives unconditional love and lots of doggy kisses. This is a beautifully illustrated book that will show young readers the value of love and kindness.
Thank you to MK Author Marketing Services and Netgalley for a chance to review Happy Makes Me Happy by Mr B's Books for my honest review.
I think Happy Makes Me Happy is such a sweet story for children. The story is about all the wonderful and positive lessons we can learn from man's best friend.
But I do wish the artwork had more variety.
