It Had to Be You by Tracy Solheim was a lovely, quick, thoroughly enjoyable read.
The setting of Chances Inlet was warm and lovely, providing a pleasant backdrop for this tale.
The characters are very likable each of them were well-developed and it was great being able to get to know them all a little more as their stories progressed.
Tracy Solheim’s writing was inviting which kept me engaged.
A heartwarming story about love and family.

This was the first book by this author that I have read, and it is always interesting being introduced to a new author. I thought this book’s premise was interesting and had a lot of potential, and this was by no means a bad book, but ultimately it isn’t one I loved or would reach for again. The main character, Paige, was a woman who wrongly lost everything and ended up in the same small town where her estranged father and his new family lived. She was very distant and rude and I just didn’t quite understand her animosity towards her father, especially when he had been nothing but good to her. She had sworn off men, and we were repeatedly told about it which grew old really quickly. And for a 28 year old woman, I just felt like she came across on page as quite petulant and personally, I just didn’t take a liking to her. Tanner was the male lead and he is a pro golfer who had this little girl dropped off on his doorstep, with his name on her birth certificate. He was a previous playboy, and a little selfish before Paige came along. I again didn’t take much of a liking to him either. The star of the show, was little Whitney. I adored her. And all the side characters - and there were many - were pretty great too. I believe they are all part of previous books by this author, so if you liked a couple, be sure to check the authors others works for their stories. Overall, this was a nice small town romance, with a cute kid and a big close knit family.
I enjoyed this book very much. Paige Hollister loses her teaching job because she was dating a married man and the parents and school board were outraged. She gets stuck in Chance Inlet after her car breaks down. Unfortunately it is home to her father who is the sheriff and has another family and thinks he doesn’t want anything to do with her. She feels like they don’ t have a relationship except his new family wants one with her but she is embarrassed about how she lost her job. So she tries to keep them at arms length. She also meets Tanner a professional golfer, who has just had a little girl dropped off on his doorstep. She won’t speak and he needs a nanny to take care of her You will get caught up in Page’s life and her new step siblings who help her. Plus her steamy romance with Tanner. Thank you to NetGalley and Sun Home Productions for the E-ARC. This is my own opinion.
