This book gave some good perspective on the foster care system, but needed a ghost writer or another pass through. It just felt like a very amateur writing but the core story was very emotional and thought provoking.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book gave me all the emotions but mostly it made me mad. The process of foster and adoption is badly in need of an overhaul. And of course, that's nothing new. I was surprised that so much information on Mercy's past wasn't given up front but I also see why, because she was so hard to place.
I hope there's a follow-up book written as I'd like to know more and see if she is able to be stabilized and stay on her medication. This book needs a bit of editing as often the first letter of a sentence was lowercase and that was very distracting to me.
