The Love Match is a reality dating show much like the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise and I am loving the perspective of this book. Emily is thrust into the main role of her favorite reality tv show thanks to the campaigning of her mother on national television! The only problem with this scenario is she is still in love with her ex from seven years ago and she has stood frozen in time since he left in the middle of the night.
Jake left thinking he was letting Emily live her best life and follow her dreams so when he sees she is the lead of the show he works for he jumps into stranger mode to give her a fighting chance at happiness. Emily is shocked and angry but ultimately steels herself for the journey ahead...too late to back out now! He works tirelessly to avoid her at all costs and takes active steps to give her amazing experiences. He knows he doesn't deserve her so he does everything he can to encourage her to move on except she sees it as the opposite.
Two kindred spirits who only want the best for each other but only one knows they are what the other needs! Great storyline, a wonderful ending, and a teaser into a new book which is all a reader can truly ask for to fall in love with a book!

This Book is A five star for me
Totally loved it<3
Everything was perfect down till the end💌
Highly recommended ❤️
This book was super heart warming and perfect for lovers of reality TV dating shows.
The protagonist, Emily's, life takes a very unexpected turn when her mother's plea on national TV to find her daughter a boyfriend goes viral. In a matter of hours Emily goes from small business owner to the the star of a reality TV dating show. What she doesn't know is that her ex-boyfriend Jake, who broke her heart, is set to be the producer on the show. To Emily, this is perfect revenge as he has to watch her date 30 different men. But she still hasn't gotten the closure she needs to move on, and she doesn't know but Jake is still in love with her.
Emily's relatable and loving persona steal the spotlight of the book. Her journey unfolds as she navigates her way through fame, love and second chances.
The author has put great effort into the depth of the characters and they each have their own quirks and motivations making the story captivating and engaging from start to finish.
The dual POV are significant in captivating the reader. Unlike other dual POV books, the author uses this technique extremely well and offers deeper insights in both Emily and Jake's past, thoughts, feels and perspectives on the scenes that take place. This definitely enhanced the emotional connection between the reader and the character.
Even though it is a rom-com in it's own right, the book dives deeper and explores emotional struggles and heartbreaks. It's not all fluffy romance, it's real life. Kay Marie is very talented to be able to balance humour and light-hearted moments with some raw and gut wrenching truths.
From the get go the chemistry between Emily and Jake is palpable. From watching them interact for the first time in years and also interacting more intimately further into the story, we see vulnerability, growth and unresolved feelings tug at the readers heartstrings and egging them on to admit their feelings for one another.
This book is definitely suited for romance and reality TV fans. It was amazing!
Whatever drugs that are in this book, I am ADDICTED. Just wow. This book is hilarious, heartwarming and just overall highly entertaining. I stayed up way past my bedtime reading this. Sam was easily my favorite, I love all the drama and honesty she brought. Also I’m a huge sucker for dual POV
I could not have loved this book any more than I did, it was soooo good! I stayed up until 3:30am to finish it. I laughed, I teared up, I could not put it down. I loved everything about it, highly recommend!!
I was excited to read this book and liked that the main romance (if that’s what you call two reunited lovers with a whole host of miscommunication and longing between them) was not on-screen and instead between the star of the Bachelorette style show and one of the producers. Having this as a second chance romance gave it more grounding and intrigue than an insta-love romance would have if it was between the female main character and one of the bachelors. We were teased throughout by what happened between this pair that clearly had a lot of history and a mysterious end to their relationship which is built up to as the story progresses. Their past is dipped into as memories inspired by their new interactions on the set and so the mystery very slowly unravels, and perhaps was a little anticlimatic at the end. I also found Jake to be super frustrating with all his raging jealousy, kind deeds and how he was ingratiating himself with Emily but kept talking himself in and out of interacting with her. He was so hot and cold it was killing me but I was glad to see how the book ended and it mostly kept away from the common miscommunication trope that causes drama at the end of a romance so bonus points for the creativity!
I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.
Just finished this one in two nights and had dreams about it last night after. Loved it! KM’s unique take on the bachelorette with a little second chance at love. It had plot twists that i didn’t see coming and was a sweet read.
I really really enjoyed this book! The second I read the blurb of this book I knew I was going to love it, but wasn't sure just how much. It was a beautiful second chance romcom which had me routing for the main characters from the very start!
I do have one tiny detail that personally would have made me love the book even more, but due to spoilers I can't mention it!
I would definitely recommend this book and cannot wait for more!
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and read it voluntarily :)
Emily is completely mortified when she wakes up to her mother on live television telling America, "Emily Ann needs a man." Soon, Emily goes viral, captivating the attention and curiosity of people everywhere.
Emily is not happy being in the spotlight. However, within these unexpected circumstances lies an opportunity for her to finally move on from her ex and showcase her jewelry business.
Unfortunately, one of the producers of the reality TV show she's participating in is none other than Emily's ex, Jake. Jake is the only man she's ever loved and the one who shattered her heart.
His sudden reappearance only brings back memories and the pain she thought she had left behind years ago.
Will Emily be able to move on, or will having Jake so close make her heart flutter once again?
✨Thoughts✨
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with an ARC of The Love Rematch.
This is my first time experiencing a book by Kay Marie, and I found it to be quite an adjustment to read a romance novel in the third-person point of view. Personally, I feel that the third-person perspective acts as a barrier, making it challenging for me to fully engage with the characters. However, as I continued reading, I gradually became invested in Emily and Jake's journey.
The author didn't shy away from delving into the emotional and sometimes painful aspects of love and relationships. My heart truly broke for Emily and Jake as they navigated through their own personal struggles.
Despite the heavier themes, The Love Rematch maintained an uplifting mood and wrapped up beautifully.
Overall, if you enjoy second chance romances and are comfortable with a third-person perspective, I believe The Love Rematch will be a great read for you. The book is set to release on October 16th.

THOUGHTS:
I want to thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for giving me the opportunity to read an e-arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Wow! What a fun book! I sat down and read this book from front to back and was so sad when it was over. Absolutely adorable storyline/plot and the characters were well developed and written as well. I loved watching Emily and Jake through this book. I loved Emily’s character right off the bat (she is absolutely adorable). We walk into some miscommunication through this book with the two of them which sometimes frustrates me but I worked with it and in the end loved it all. This book had it all —banter, tension, the happy sad fuzzy belly feelings. The ending for me did it for me (so many feels). I love how the author also touched on some topics that could be a trigger for some but written very well. Check your triggers always when reading books. Such a fun sweet light romance read that I think is perfect for any time!
You HAVE to read this book if you love :
- Forced Proximity
- Second Chance
- Dual POV
- Reality TV Setting
Race and put this on your TBR NOW! This book releases October 16!
This one felt a little insta-love to me since they dated for 10 months in high school and 7 years have passed.. but it was cute and heartwarming nonetheless! There were quite a few heavier topics involved, but I think they were well done and the ending didn't feel rushed. One complaint I have is with the writing style - the flashbacks to their memories in high school weren't always clear and I found myself getting confused how we jumped back in time and having to re-read. I think just a page break would help make it more clear what was happening, but the way it is now, it did not flow well. I liked having both POVs, though Jake's back-and-forth was a little annoying. The characters did have good growth throughout and I am excited for the second book about Sam/Cooper (if that is actually a thing haha)
Thanks to NetGalley and publisher for the ARC! Review live now on Goodreads and StoryGraph.
4.5 Stars
If I become a second chance romance girly I’m going to be so mad at myself and this book for putting me in this position. I had such a good time.
I really liked Jake and Emily, I liked watching him realises the massive mistake that he’d made. The jealousy, the guilt, and oh the pining!! The pining was fantastic!!
It was a short, fun read — despite not really being a fan of reality television. And although some of the details of Emily’s past threw me a little as they seemed a bit out of the blew, I really enjoyed this book.
This was amazing. Truly amazing.
Emily gets thrown under the bus by her mother on national television, painting her as this lonely girl who needs a man. She ends up on a reality tv-show where her ex happens to be a producer. Now I love a good second chance romance, but the character development these two went through? My god. I was rooting for them so hard. I loved this. Infinite stars
This book reminded me of The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren, but different. I love that the MC was a twin and that she was exposed by her mom on national television (I feel like we can all relate to that on some level). I also enjoy that it was second-chance romance that dealt with some deeper subjects but that overall the book was light and fun to read. I will definitely be reading more by this author!
The Love Rematch - Kay Marie
Emily Peters is dumbfounded when her mother announces on live tv that she needs help finding a man, and pitching her as the lead for the hit dating show, The Love Match.
After she agrees to go on the show, with the hopes of getting her jewellery business some much deserved attention, she comes face to face with the one who broke her heart 7 years ago, the one who is her new producer.
After a conversation with her twin sister, Emily has her mind set on revenge, and making Jake regret the day he ever walked away.
What Emily doesn't know is that Jake has regretted his decision all along, and when he comes face to face with Emily, all the history comes rushing back. Will he be able to help her find her new fiance while keeping his personal feelings to himself? Will Emily finally let go of the past and open herself up to love again?
I was on the hunt for something light and fluffy and I found it with The Love Match. This was the perfect beach read that made me chuckle a few times as Emily and Jake kept finding themselves in odd predicaments. It's everything a great rom-com should be. I rooted for the main characters from the beginning and felt their pain as their history is laid out. This one got ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 from me. Comes out October 16th, so make sure you add it to your TBR list!
Thank you Netgalley for the awesome ARC!

THIS. BOOK. I was so pleasantly surprised by The Love Rematch-the description drew me in, but I was completely blown away by how much I adored this story. Easily one of my favorite ARCs I've gotten this year!
"He'll never be her hero. But that doesn't mean he has to stay her villain."
It's been seven years since Emily's high school boyfriend, Jake, climbed out of her bedroom window and skipped town without a goodbye. It was a love that she has yet to get over, which prompted her mom to go on national TV and nominate Emily to be the lead for a popular dating show. She reluctantly agrees, seeing this as an opportunity to finally put her old relationship and the devastation it caused her in the past. This plan is great, until the first day of shooting where she finds out Jake is a lead producer for the show and is in charge of finding Emily a fiancé by the end of the season.
I could not put this book down! It was an easy page-turner that did an incredible job of taking the reader through high school love/ heartbreak and being reunited years later. If you enjoyed The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren or are a fan of The Bachelor/ Bachelorette, you will LOVE The Love Rematch!
- second chance
- first love/ high school relationship
- forced proximity
- taboo (work romance)
- reality TV
- the sweetest sister relationship (identical twin)
- it's always been you
- dual POV
Second-chance romance meets Bachelor-inspired rom-com? Yes, please!
Emily Peters, an up-and-coming jewelry designer, finds herself as the new lead of a dating show after her mom's plea to find her a boyfriend goes viral. #EmilyAnnNeedsAMan. However, her dream for a fresh start quickly turns into a nightmare when she discovers her high school boyfriend, Jake, is the producer. Emily and Jake's tumultuous relationship keeps you invested throughout as they navigate their past, love, heartbreak, and the cutthroat world of reality television. As they clash on set, old feelings resurface, leading to a page-turning tale of revenge, attraction, and countless unspoken secrets. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!
Thanks to NetGalley, the Publisher, and Kay Marie for allowing me access to this book. All opinions are my own.
Love it
The characters were hilarious.
This book reminds me of the Love Connection (dating show from the 1980s) meets the Bachelor/Bachelorette.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and or the author for giving me a chance to read and review this book.
Loved this novel from the beginning! The banter and angst between the two main characters was...*chefs kiss*
The storyline flowed well and kept me entertained throughout the novel. The similarities to the bachelor made for an enjoyable read for viewers of the show. Definitely pick this up if you are looking for a great second chance romance novel.
Thank you for allowing me the chance to receive and ARC of this novel.
The Love Rematch is a second-chance romance that takes place behind the scenes of a reality TV show. It's The Bachelorette, but with a good twist. In this hilariously witty and amazingly heart-warming novel, we follow Emily Peters when she wakes up with a call from her sister telling her to open her TV, only to find her mom on national TV, telling and begging the whole of America to find her a boyfriend and as America falls in love with Emily, she finds herself the new lead for a reality TV show called The Love Match. What shocks her to her core is finding out that her ex-boyfriend, Jake, the person who broke her heart all those years ago, is the producer of the show.
I just love thr angst, the banter, and the tension between the two main characters; to be honest, at some point, I almost cried. Another factor for my rating of this book is the humor, it's just so funny! Also, I loved the dual POVs. I also enjoyed Sam as a side character and I would love to read a book about.
Overall, this was a great read for me and I highly recommend The Love Rematch for those who enjoy the second-chance-romance trope. ♡
