An entertaining mystery featuring an Ivy League trained astrophysicist who happened to be psychic. An old friend on the police force calls her in to consult on a case. Narration was good but a couple of places I got a bit confused about who was speaking.

Heaberlin is quickly becoming a favorite of mine! Her writing is rich and beautifully crafted with thought. I fell in love with Vivvy, our astrophysicist psychic heroine and the slow burn mystery she finds herself caught up in. I would loveee a sequel starring this character again. The pacing was great, the premise was intriguing, and completely understand why rights have already been sold for adaptation! Can't wait to see it on screen.

The audio version of this title was well-narrated - the reader did a fairly good job making voices distinct, though there were a couple of occasions when I wished there was something to make the voices a bit more unique (ex: more heated convos between Vivvy & Joie sometimes became difficult to parse out who was saying what).

I enjoyed the plot and the character development of the story, as well as the setting. The pacing was solid, and I liked the way the paranormal aspects were included in the storyline. I was not able to guess who the kidnapper was until just before it was revealed.

My only wish would have been to have some resolution on the charm bracelet girl. We found out who she was and (allegedly) what happened to her, but it still feels like a loose end. Perhaps that is going to be fodder for another story? I do love series & companion novels where we get to engage with the same characters again, but I'm not sure that's what the author intends. Maybe we're just supposed to sit with the discomfort of not knowing, since that it what her loved ones have done for years, and is a more realistic portrayal of what happens in most cases like these.

I will definitely be reading/listening to more books by this author.

This story features twenty-eight year old Vivvy Boucher who has a PHD from Harvard is an Astrophysics; in fact, is currently working on a prestigious Grant. However, is known in her home town of Fort Wayne, TX as her psychic mother’s daughter. She has been back home by detective Mike Romano as he needs her help as her mother just died of cancer and he needs helping in finding Lizzy Solomon who went missing when she was three years old. Years ago when Vivvt and Mike were children she saved his life and he became a believer that a psychic can help.
Only problem is he is not the lead on the case and recommends her expertise to Det Jesse Sharp a nonbeliever. There cat and mouse relationship is predictable; there is no doubt they are attracted to each other but neither trusts the other.

When young Lizzy went missing, her mother thought she was just hiding in their big Victoria home but with help in searching Lizzy couldn’t be found. Her mother Nicolette was accused of killing her and sent to prison however, Nicolette claimed she was innocent and still makes that claim; she believes her daughter is still alive!

Narrator Karissa Vacker is one of fav audiobook performers and she once again did a great job in this story. Even her performance of the nasty mouth unlikeable characters!!! Yikes Bubba Guns.

I loved this story~ I am a big Psychological Thriller fan and fine with dark and creepy so the paranormal in this is an added bonus to me. I however and not a fan of profanity but found this story so good that it challenged my tolerance.
I seldom give 5 star ratings but I though this was GREAT!
Looking forward to Ms. Heaberlin's next Thriller!!!!!

This book was fantastic. I was captivated from the very beginning. Right away we know there's a mystery. Vivvy is an astrophysicist whose brother-in-law convinces her to return to her hometown to help as a psychic in a missing person's investigation. Enter the mysterious, rugged cop, Jesse, who is a skeptic. The two have a lot of chemistry throughout the story. With the exception of her brother-in-law, I really liked all of the characters in the story. Jesse maintains this mystery about his past throughout the story and it makes you question him the entire time, while he's questioning Vivvy.

I did not guess the twist at the end. It definitely kept my interest and kept me guessing.

The audiobook narrator is great. She really did a great job switching back and forth between Vivvy's standard accent and the Texas accent of the other characters. Highly recommend this audiobook.

This book is written for the nondiscerning readers, who can suspend disbelief and plausibility to just immerse themselves in drama and mystery for kicks alone. Not my thing. The plot moves along quickly but the holes are a mile wide. Not much to discuss about the story in a book discussion group except the concept of psychics as police informats and that's not enough to warrant book choice.

I liked this book, but didn't love it. It kind of felt like there was too much going on and there were four points in the story that felt a conclusive ending, but it JUST KEPT GOING. Listening to Vivvy deal with Bubba Guns (the Alex Jones adjacent character) was equally infuriating and fascinating.

Vivvy Bouchet is a brilliant astrophysicist and a reluctant psychic. She comes by the psychic tendencies via her mother, Astra Bouchet. Her 'gift' revealed itself at the age of 10, when her premonition that saved the life of her childhood friend Mike. Fast forward to today, Mike is a Texas police officer who asks Vivvy for help in a high-profile cold case of a missing three year old girl.

I am obsessed with this book! As a reader, when you become so immersed into a story and the lives of the characters that all you can think about is what will happen next or where will this go....that's a sign of a fantastic novel and a talented author. The writing is superb, the characters are very well developed as the story switches from the past to the present and the overall plot is just so engrossing,

Publication day is June 20th and this is in my auto buy basket on Amazon! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for mystery, suspense, psychological, thriller, cop procedure readers!!! 5+ stars!!!

This was a spectacularly read audio that sucked me in from the first chapter and kept my attention throughout.

This story has a wonderful combination of scientific explanations mixed with mythical ideology. I actually loved the combo of the two and how well they balanced the mystery that was unraveling on the pages.
This was an excellent psychological thriller with twist and turns galore!

This was a book that did okay as a book but I’m glad to hear it’s being made into film as I think that will do it justice.

Our main character is a bit of a psychic and also a scientist. She has her own philosophy when it comes to these two things meshing and it works for her. She’s asked to be on a famous podcast and work a new case with her brother-in-law (her sister’s husband and also the boy she saved when they were kids).

Yep, that goes as well as can be expected when there’s a history between them, a grumpy cop on the case, a lot of angry people at her and ghosts following her until she solves their case.

It’s a fast paced book for those who like that . And for those who, like me, enjoy strong characters I truly enjoyed some of Vivvy’s quirks. She’s sensory sensitive and that endeared me to her. Overall a decent read -

I loved this book beginning to end. About an absolutely brilliant Dr who came home to clean up her mother's property after her death to face memories/terrors of her early childhood.

Her mother was a psychic and she too has some of the same "qualities" that she has had to deal with her whole life. She not only comes home to clean up the estate, but to fix broken relationships, and help solve the disappearance of one ... maybe two missing girls. I liked the writing, the narration and the characters.

I love the concept of a psychic helping the police solve murders–it was such a fun plot device in the Booking Agents series, so I knew I’d like it in a “more serious” thriller too.

“But Caroline, I thought you hated magical realism in your thrillers?” Only when the author uses it as the “twist”. In Night Will Find You, the reader knows from the first page that Vivvy has some kind of unexplained power. When I know about the magical realism up front, I’m able to take off my detective hat and just enjoy where the story takes me, believable or not.

I was completely hooked from the start by Heaberlin’s writing, and listening to this audiobook made a long road trip fly by. Vivvy was a great main character: complex, multi-dimensional, empathetic, and with a well-thought-out past. I loved the glimpses into Vivvy’s unusual childhood. The one thing I could have done without was the romance: Vivvy was caught in a bit of a love triangle with an extra leg (not quite a square). I found it confusing and was eager to get back to the cases of the missing girls.

I added some more spoiler thoughts in my blog post. Overall: recommend.

Karissa Vacker is one of my favorite narrators, so of course the audiobook was amazing. I highly recommend listening to this one!

Julia Heaberlin delivers an excellent suspenseful novel featuring Vivian Bouchet, an astrophysicist with psychic abilities who refuses to call herself a psychic. Vivvy is as tough as she is fragile and when the cop she saved from a near tragic accident when she was 10 asks for help in closing an old case on the disappearance of Lizzy Solomon from her Ft. Worth home we see first hand the emotional toll these abilities exact. Although still grieving the recent loss of her mother, who also had psychic abilities, Vivvy will do anything to solve the case no matter the cost.

All of the characters in this book, including Jesse the detective who insists on handling her assistance into the disappearance of Lizzy, her sister Brigid, and Mike the cop she saved all those years ago, come fully alive as complex unique individuals. Narrator Karissa Vackers brings all this richness smoothly to life in audio and is also one of the most adept narrators at portraying male voices I've heard. I was drawn into the story from the beginning. There is so much more here than a simple missing persons story (an exploration of the relationship between sisters, the sometimes fine line between best friend and lovers, the place for mystery in a universe explained by science, how to weigh who to trust when lives depend on the answer) and kudos to Heaberlin for keeping me guessing how all the various parts of the story turn out until the very end.

Night and darkness will always find you. If you have little bit of it in you, it will always find a way to find other darkness around you. While Vivvy was looking for opportunities to shine light of stars over us as a genius astrophysicist, her psychic abilities covers her in a dark shroud. She hears dead girls, she gets messages from missing ones. The scientist and psychic in her are always in a fight.

Everyone cannot be involved in this mystery, right? Not every one plays an active role on disappearance of a girl yet only mother is behind the bars. Sure, she is not mother of the year. However, really there is no one else?! Also, why Vivvy's mother was involved in this. These are the questions burning in Vivvy's mind. How are we so helpless in protecting a child? Not only this one, but also the one with charm bracelet....

I loved how podcasts, current events, true crime, and science found their individual spots under spotlights in this book. Manipulative impact of social media, lacking police work, and unimportance of women's words are masterfully weaved into the story. I'm so glad that I have been introduced to Julia Heaberlin's work!

Julia Heaberlin does not disappoint! Mystery, suspense, slow burn to a surprise ending. A dash of occult keeps the vivid imagery on point throughout the book. I have found a new favorite author.

This is my 2nd book from Julia Heaberlin, and both have been wonderfully written with original and deeply woven storylines. This one, not even out yet, is already being developed as a TV series. I have other books by her that I need to bump up on my tbr, obviously—she’s a great storyteller! I enjoyed the scientific tidbits in this one, and loved that it included a quote from Carl Sagans Pale Blue Dot. I recommend this one. :)

I'm conflicted on this one because while I thought the concept of this book was so good, I don't know if I feel the same about the execution. There were some things I LOVED. I loved the setting, the conspiracy podcast, and the supernatural aspect the most. I wasn't a huge fan of the revelations towards the end of the book though. Overall it was a pretty satisfying read. In the description of the book it says this will be made into a series and I think that will be really cool! I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for that.

This audiobook gripped me from start to finish. I was so certain at first that an astrophysicist that is also a psychic would be too convoluted- I was wrong. The story works so well!

Vivvy Bouchet is the astrophysicist/psychic that the book centers around. She is a second generation psychic. Her mother had the gift.

When Vivvy was young she saved a boy’s life with her psychic ability, and now he is a detective asking for her help on a cold case.

The case is about a missing girl, the daughter of 2 lawyers that mysteriously disappeared.

We get the same info that Vivvy does about the cops, the suspects, etc. Those who are seasoned novel sleuths might figure this one out on their own - but the journey to certainty is excruciatingly delicious!

I highly recommend this book to people who love a good mystery, and those who have always felt unsettled about open cases around missing children.

There are emotional triggers in this book. So, please be prepared for that - such as death, ghosts, kidnapping, murder, etc. The types of things you’d expect to pop up in a missing person’s case currently being investigated by a scientist/psychic and a cop.

This book is being developed for a tv series - I hope it gets made!

wow i absolutely loved this! i was hooked from start to finish and i had no idea how this was going to resolve.

this was such a well rounded story with the cold cases, the bubba guns podcast/radio show, everything between vivvy, her sister and mike was all so fascinating. and the narrator was so good!
