Decent book, but unfortunately could not make Mark Antony worthwhile. Would have been better if it was following someone else.
So finely detailed Anthony's journey is the start of what is set to be a great series. The gods interested me and I can't wait to see what happens next.
I was curious about this historical series about Mark Anthony. It's a well plotted and well researched story even if I've got some doubts about Marc Anthony's moral scruples as the Roman of his age were quite ruthless.
Entertaining.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
The beginning of the story of one of History’s most famous men, told from Anthony’s point of view. My problem with this book is at the beginning, when the author makes Anthony ashamed for his father’s actions in feathering his own nest as a Roman Governor. They all did that. Pontus Pilate did it, and part of the German tribe’s dislike of Varus was because he was robbing them into starvation to feather his own nest. What the Senate hated was stealing from Rome to feather their own nest.
