I read this without realizing this was the third book in a series and now my confusion makes sense! But I loved the writing style!! Definitely will pick up more by this author!

PERFECT SACRIFICES: an epic, in-your-face thriller of good and evil.
Edgy Christian fiction has always been a favorite genre, and Diane Johnson kicks the door open with this one, the(continuing) story of death-metal guitarist Alec Lowell, who started his journey in the first book as a Satanist, became a faith healer in an Evangelical community in the second one, and is now targeted by a Satanic cult. The story is graphic at times, with scenes straight out of horror movies. The supernatural aspect is subtle, with healing powers being present, and the evil is not cookie-cutter supernatural villain stuff, but gnarly human stuff. Diane Johnson is one to watch!

The Zealots Of Every Stripe Won't Stop Coming

I was already prepared to be a fan of Perfect Sacrifices, having read Perfect Prophet and Prophet Reborn, and I wasn't disappointed. I loved this third volume of the series too.

It has a number of surprises in it, big and small. The characters are unforgettable and it's easy to become invested in their survival, though caring doesn't necessarily mean that they will. Relationships and family are a big part of the story.

The book was suspenseful and kept me turning the pages, with adversaries plotting and attacking the characters out of nowhere. The author is skillful at making the more fantastic concepts of the story easily believable. I like the way she challenges knowledge and belief systems so intelligently without preaching.

I hope this volume won't be the last in the series!
