DNF'd this book at 11%. The pacing was too slow for my taste, making it hard to stay engaged with the story. I struggled to connect with the main character, which further diminished my interest. Ultimately, I decided it wasn't worth continuing.

Some books are full of all things bright and beautiful. This isn't one of those books. This book is full of all things weird and wonderful.
This is a dark, brilliantly observed story. The author is merciless in her depiction of the cruelties inflicted on humans by one another. But she also maintains a perfect balance between melancholy and beauty.
When creatures from the mythology of Ancient Greece intrude into the modern age fear is unleashed. The theme.of Nazi atrocities inflicted upon the islanders and their children is particularly unsettling.
Fans of C.J. Tudor will particularly appreciate the author's talent of capturing fantasy within reality.

Sophie was formally a doctor but retired after a traumatic patient death. Now she's working as a journalist to find a more quiet peace in her life. When she gets the chance to interview infertility expect Tim Henderson, she feels this is her opportunity to write an important piece. She ventures out to his private island and is immediately seduced by the lux lifestyle. Amidst the strange hobbies of Henderson, which include timing his guests through his elaborate maze, Sophie is concerned but determined to get her project done, no matter the cost.

This was a bit of a slow burn as it really builds the tension to lay out the eccentricities of Henderson and Sophie's reaction. I really enjoyed how this one unfolded and it ends with a shocking twist!

This book started off slow and never really caught on with me. I had to force my way through it. The ending felt to me like a cliffhanger designed to make you have to read the next book.

It was interesting to start, then the history that was discussed seemed far fetched as well as the medical technology. I skimmed a lot of it.

This book is very good. It is very well written. The author crafts the book very well and is obviously very skilled at writing. As they draw you in from the first page until the very last. I enjoyed the setting of the book being in the Greek Islands, you really could feel like you were actually there. I also liked the nods to the Greek mythology.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In “Reap What You Sow” by Shirley Day, we are introduced to Sophie, who finds herself torn between regret and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The chance to write a personal history for the reclusive billionaire Tim Henderson proves irresistible, despite her lingering feelings for her ex-boyfriend.

As Sophie delves deeper into Henderson’s mysterious life on his private Greek island, she uncovers an ancient labyrinth with an ominous past intertwined with myth and legend. However, the present-day secrets of the island prove to be even more unsettling. With time running out, Sophie must navigate through Henderson’s delusional trap and fight to protect her own future from being irrevocably damaged.

Honestly, this book exceeded all my expectations! The writing is excellent, with skillfully crafted pacing that keeps readers engaged throughout. The atmospheric setting of the mysterious private Greek island adds depth and enhances the overall reading experience. The plot is engrossing and seamlessly fuses mystery and Greek mythology together perfectly.

Overall, “Reap What You Sow” by Shirley Day offers a captivating story that I can't recommend highly enough.

This is a hard one to rate. It was so slow. I started skimming. And then around 60 - 70% things picked up. The suspense was so high. And then it just ended. On a cliffhanger. In other words, the pacing was a complete mess. This story has potential but it needs an editor.

Reap What you Sow started off slow but picked up about halfway through. At that point I had a hard time putting it down. I would definitely read more books by this author.

Many thanks to NetGalley and BloodHound Books for my gifted copy.
