Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to love this one I just couldn't push myself to keep reading it. I got around to the 43% mark and put the book down because I thought it was one of those "wrong time" situations and was hoping I could just find the interest to read it later on. After a month of waiting, I just couldn't find any interest to keep reading and decided to just move on from it. It wasn't necessarily the story or the writing style, I think I just had too high expectations and it didn't meet them. I desperately wanted to love this one but it just didn't work out.

Such a delightful read! The story built and built to a breaking point that was so good, it almost overshadowed the ending. There is nothing I love more than a good enemies-to-lovers, and this book uses the trope in so many different ways, it was incredibly fun to read and peel back another layer of plot and trope.

The supernatural elements are a departure from Rosie Danan's other (more grounded in reality) romances, but all her strengths as a writer are represented here: the characters are flawed but likable, and the misunderstandings and heat between them propels the story along. The Hallmark plot is probably the weakest aspect of this book, but there's something charming about the outsider solving a mystery in a small town too. Overall solid and marketable, but not Rosie Danan's best.

I read both The Roommate and The Intimacy Experiment by Rosie Danan, and I fell in love with her writing. Do Your Worst is her latest romance, and it is SO DIFFERENT from her other two, but OMG, I'm in LOVE.
Riley Rhodes is a curse-breaker. Her grandmother taught her all she knows, and now she's determined to make curse-breaking a profitable business, which is how she finds herself in Scotland at Arden Castle, a castle with a centuries old curse, dating back to the late eighteenth century. But she also finds Clark Edgeware, an archaeologist and supernatural skeptic who is convinced she's a charlatan. He's at the castle to redeem himself and his reputation after a scandal left his professional reputation in tatters. They share one perfect evening at the pub before they realize who the other is, and after that, Clark and Riley butt heads at every turn, determined to prove their own theories true. But like all good rivalries, this one comes with delicious tension, and they also get a helping hand from the curse itself. Almost like their love might be the thing that breaks it.
This book was ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. I feel like I say this all the time, but I literally couldn't put it down. I was out camping with my family, but I wasn't actually on the Oregon coast. Mentally, I was in Scotland, researching a curse and falling in love with a skeptical archaeologist and a spunky curse-breaker.
This book is delightful, a little campy, a lot swoony, and an absolute must-read.

There were a ton of fun, quirky moments in this paranormal rom-com. The MC's personal struggles were well portrayed. I struggled a bit with the love connection, but my biggest hangup was not getting more from the flashbacks. What happened with those two?? Did I miss that part?
Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for providing this advance reader's copy for an honest review.

this was such a fun romcom with a slight paranormal twist to it! rosie danan crafts characters with such fun & unique jobs and you can tell how much research she does into making it believable. those jobs evidently play a huge rule into how our two main characters, riley and clark, are forced together in the hopes of breaking a curse.
this starts off as an "rivals" situation that quickly turns into something more after not being able to deny their attraction to one another. rosie danan writes the best tension and build up between two characters as we've seen in her previous two books, but for riley and clark in particular, i found myself wishing for a bit more of that. nonetheless, all the moments that they do spend together in attempts to break the curse, i found just hilarious and wholesome.
overall, just a really fun and spicy read! needed something fluffy and this delivered.

Riley Rhodes has an unusual occupation to say the least- she's a professional curse breaker. As you can imagine, people have definite opinions about dabbling in the supernatural -either they're believers, or definitely NOT believers. When Riley gets the chance to go to Scotland to break a curse that's holding up the redevelopment of an ancient castle, she jumps on the first flight out. Her first night there she meets a handsome stranger and sparks fly for both of them. In the clear light of day, however, things take a decided turn for the worse when her crush tries to get her fired!
A fun enemies-to-lovers romance with a different twist on the supernatural, "Do Your Worst" was a book I thoroughly enjoyed. Very graphic, steamy love scenes make this one for adults only.

Rosie Danan has a gift, and it is a gift for writing believable characters, examining family trauma, and creating some of the most deliciously filthy sex scenes. Riley and Clark are a true enemies-to-lovers pairing, and I have never read such phenomenal hate fucking scenes in my life. However, by working together, they overcome their extreme reactions to each other, and fall in love. Because really, hate and love are two edges of the same knife.

"Do Your Worst" by Rosie Danan is a steamy and entertaining enemies-to-lovers romance that combines elements of the supernatural with a captivating love story. With its engaging characters, witty banter, and sizzling chemistry, this novel offers a delightful reading experience.
The story follows Riley Rhodes, a skilled occult expert, and Clark Edgeware, a disgraced archaeologist. When Riley is hired to break a curse on a Scottish castle, she encounters Clark, who is determined to protect his chance for redemption and discredit her expertise. The clash between these two strong-willed characters creates an electric dynamic that drives the plot forward.
Riley is a spirited and determined protagonist with a strong sense of independence. Her dedication to her work and her family's supernatural legacy is admirable, and her quick wit adds humor and charm to the story. Clark, on the other hand, is grappling with his own past mistakes and is initially reluctant to let his guard down. The evolution of their relationship from rivals to something more is engaging and well-developed.
Rosie Danan skillfully weaves together the paranormal and romantic elements of the story. The tension between Riley's belief in the supernatural and Clark's skepticism provides both conflict and comedic moments. As the two characters are repeatedly thrown together, their verbal sparring escalates into steamy encounters that showcase their undeniable chemistry.
The pacing of the story is well-balanced, with a mix of lighthearted moments, emotional depth, and sensual scenes. The setting of the Scottish castle adds a touch of mystery and atmosphere, enhancing the overall reading experience.
"Do Your Worst" is not only a tale of romance but also a journey of self-discovery and acceptance for both Riley and Clark. The characters' growth and development, both individually and as a couple, add depth and resonance to the story.
In summary, "Do Your Worst" is a delightful and engaging romance novel that offers a blend of witty dialogue, strong character dynamics, and passionate romance. Fans of enemies-to-lovers stories with a touch of the supernatural will find this book to be a satisfying and enjoyable read.

So much fun, so much spice. I'd read Rosie Danan's store list at this point. Absolutely buying my own copy, because this is one I'm going to want to revisit.

THIS WAS AMAZING. It was quirky, mythological, romcom with spice! This enemies to lovers is top tier and I will be reading this over and over again!

I loved this book! So much fun to see Danan delve into a new genre for her, since I've only read contemporaries by her so far. I love both protagonists, they both are the "my thorny pain ahh" type and I love that. Neither of them wants to be vulnerable, but they do find a lot of common ground and are trying to prove themselves. I hope there's a second book with his brother?

After reading and loving Rosie Danan's first two novels, The Roommate and The Intimacy Experiment, I was eager to get my hands on her upcoming release, ππ ππππ πͺππππ (Pub 11.14) It did not disappoint.
πͺπππ ππ ππππͺ:
-She's a tough curse breaker
- He's an uptight archaeologist in the street and a beast in the sheets.
-rivals to lovers
- Banter that had me laughing out loud
- Sexy AF
- light paranormal romance
- Scottish Highlands
- opposites attract
- chemistry for days
- Pranks, brooding and tenderness
Riley and Clark's story is both fun and believable with delightful layers to uncover. The castle's curse not only fuels the mystery but also their romantic feelings. I couldn't get enough of their fighting and flirting.
Thank you to Netgalley and Berkley for the early copy.

Feisty cursebreaker x stuffy archeologist in a steamy romance sounded like my personal blend of catnip, but I couldnβt get past the heroβs truly obnoxious behavior at the beginning of the book. I donβt like reading about men refusing to believe women and dismissing their concerns out of handβI get enough of that in real life, thanks! That being said, the sex magic ritual scene was *scorchingly* hot. Iβll give the authorβs other books a try.
Thanks to Berkeley and Netgalley for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I have been a diehard fan of Rosie Danan's since I first read The Roommate and then fell in love with her work even more with The Intimacy Experiment and I waited with baited breath for her to announce her next book. I was a bit apprehensive when I read the synopsis - I'm not really one for paranormal and curse breaking isn't really up my alley, but I would honestly read a grocery list from Danan.
Unfortunately, this didn't work for me quite as well as her previous work, but I still look forward to anything that comes from Danan in the future!

Do Your Worst is a perfect balance on the thin line between love and hate with main characters Clark and Riley.
When Riley decides to make her families work of curse breaking a legitimate business, I donβt think she realized she herself would be paying a price.
When on a job trying to break a curse thatβs at least 300 years old nothing could have prepared her for handsome Englishman Clark.
I absolutely adored this book and all the back and forth that comes with it.

I thought the love story was great, and the personal development of each of the leads was very satisfying. I was a little disappointed in the curse-breaking and the story behind the curse. I would've loved to have things more fleshed-out, maybe including flashbacks to the 1700s so we could see if Riley's hypotheses were correct about how the original lovers died. What did Phillipa do to her prisoner and why did he fall in love with her? I also would've loved more interaction with the fae and paranormal elements. Overall, it was a fun read. I would recommend to anyone who loves hard-hitting emotion, major spice and angst in their romances.

A Scottish archeologist who denies curses are real AND a curse breaker come to heads when they have the same assignment at a mysterious Scottish castle. It is another A+ read from Danan! I loved this. Rosie Danan is so good at the tropes and this is such a great enemies to lovers I canβt even.

Wowwww this was such a fun spooky read! The vibes were immaculate, the setting picturesque, and both characters perfectly imperfect. Emphasis on imperfect LOL.
I really enjoyed the way Riley and Clark were foils to one another--both working to overcome stigma to make something of themselves outside of their respective family legacies. I also thought it was clever of Rosie Danan to show us just how compatible they were at their core the first time they meet. We see the truth in that moment, only for extenuating circumstances (i.e., Clark being a dick) to ruin their small mirage of happiness. But as it turns out, Clark being a dick sets off a truly unbelievable sequence of events, mishaps, curse encounters, and the evolution of Clark and Riley's deep soul connection.
Their banter was hysterical, I laughed out loud more times than I could count. And every time something would go wrong because of the curse, baffling Clark, I couldn't hold in the giggles. Riley is tough as nails and doesn't let Clark get away with anything, despite his best efforts, but he meets her hit for hit as they work together. Their chemistry was palpable and their connection, like the curse, made its presence very known.
I highly recommend this if you've enjoyed Rosie Danan's previous works, or are just looking for a spooky steamy good time.
