Snow Place Like Home made me feel like I was watching a Hallmark movie which is my all favorite thing to do. This was a very good story and I truly enjoyed it. It bought back many memories of Christmas with my mom which was also her favorite holiday also. Ella was a very relatable character, her and Seth relationship was very genuine and relatable. This book also hit some of my favorite tropes which are second chance, enemies to lovers and friends to lovers. I felt like Seth and Ella fell into all those categories. I am hoping the author releases Seth’s sister story.

Cute, predictable. Would I read a 2nd time? Probably not, but its decent enough for a one timer. Decent for the holiday category.

This book wasn't my cup of tea. It started out too sad for me for this time of year. But, there are definitely plenty of people who love this exact type of story.

A very mild romance, kind of boring with bothe characters constantly overthinking their losses, talking about their losses, and dreaming about their losses. I was skimming so fast to get to the super boring end. I also did not appreciate the churchiness included in the story, nor all the meddling family and church members. Very unrealistic. Should be forewarned.

This was a beautiful book, a small town romance and just what you need over the holidays. It feels like a Hallmark movie. When reading the love story between Ella and Seth after being apart for many years they are able to come together. It was a very cute holiday read that makes you feel good.

Thank you Netgally for an ARC of this book to give my honest feedback.

3.5*
A hallmark movie in book form.
Snow Place Like Home is a Christmas, small town, second chance (closed door) romance book.
After her engagement breaks off and the gallery she works at closes down during the festive season Ella decides to finally go home for the holidays to visit her Aunt Addie in Bellepoint. While there she slowly begins to deal with her grief and past losses as she gets busy helping organising the towns Christmas tree auction where she runs into her old high school crush.
As the pair are working together they begin to reconnect and find they have more in common than they realise and help each other deal with their pasts and come together to learn to live and find joy in life again together.

The book was only short (around 300 pages) and was easy to read and follow which is sometimes just what is needed during the crazy holiday season. If you're a fan of Christmas in general you'll you'll this book.

This was just an okay Christmas book. I don't think it's one that I will be running to take out every time the season rolls around. It took a long time to get into the story and there didn't seem to be stakes high enough for me really to care how the story played out. I think you will like this book if second chance romance is your thing. The main character and love interest went to high school together and never got together, even though each of them had a crush on each other. Fast forward 15 years and now they're back in the same town organizing a christmas festival together while also trying despartately not to fall in love. If you love festive reading around this time of year, this book is for you. If you're more of a festive book or two kind of person I think you can skip this one.

I really enjoyed Snow Place Like Home, I read it during the Christmas season which made it better for me I think. I could picture the whole story in my head like a Hallmark Holiday movie, they should consider making this one into a movie because the story line is just too good. Lacey Baker has everything in this novel, from love, to heart ache and grief. She brings together two characters who both have their own grief they deal with, who can get through the hard times together. It felt very wholesome, and I was rooting for Seth and Elle the whole way. I though the jobs she gave the characters were different and interesting, not the typical jobs you'd read in other love novels. I connected with Elle and her artist side so much, it made me want to pick up a paint brush again. Great novel, would recommend to anyone who loves rom-com's, Christmas, and a second chance at love.

Snow Place Like Home is a holiday story with small town, seasonal vibes and definitely felt like a Hallmark movie.

Ella returns home after losing her job at a city art gallery and a recently broken off engagement with her fiancé, Ben. She hasn’t been home in years but wants to see her Aunt Addie, who wastes no time volunteering Ella to help with the community’s Christmas activities, including a fundraising auction. Ella reconnects with Seth Hamil, a former high school classmate she hasn’t seen for years, who is also helping, and the two realize despite their different lives today, they have quite a bit in common.

Though quite predictable (I knew what would happen very early on, and it did), Snow Place Like Home was a cute holiday read.

This is a holiday romance where the protagonist returns to her small town and finds love. Ella lives in the big city, working in an art gallery. When the gallery she works at announces its closing, Ella decides to return to her town to visit her aunt. While there, she bumps into Seth, whom she had a crush on in high school but whom she has held a small grudge against after an incident where he burned a hole through her bag. Seth and Ella are paired together to work on the Christmas tree auction, and their relationship evolves. It's a sweet holiday romance.

A sweet, cute Christmas story, along with some heavier topics of love and loss. Both characters have lost someone (or multiple someones) in their lives, so to come together to support one another (albeit a bit strangely at first) was a cute storyline. Ella has been through a lot and the last thing she wants is to work with her ex, Seth. He’s also been through a lot, but when push comes to shove, they both put their differences aside and come together for the sleepy, calm town of Bellepoint. The story flowed well, think Hallmark movie type of plot and story. It’s cute, definitely not something I’d pick up off the shelf (closed door), but it was cute! Thanks for the opportunity to read!

After losing her job as an art curator in the big city, Ella returns home where she finds herself taking part in a Christmas tree auction alongside a high school friend.

A sweet holiday romance, much in the vein of the beloved Hallmark movies that are popular this time of year. A quick read, with heartwarming themes of coming home, and rekindling faith.

A sweet small town romance at Christmas time, though it did tend towards a more predictable formula. A quick easy read, clean, and heartwarming!

A charming Christmas story. Ella and Seth both have baggage and must overxcome things in their past. can the magic of Christmas and home bring them together?

This was such a cute Christmas read. It had the perfect balance of cozy vibes and romance of a Hallmark movie. There was also some love and loss, which made the book even more heart warming. This is a great holiday read!

I liked this Christmas story! Ella and Seth were great characters, and I did love the small-town and it's characters. Teddy was a great addition; in fact, I would have liked to see more of him. The story was a little slow for me, but I still liked it.

This was such a cute Christmas romance! It is all about healing from everything that life throws at you and learning how to be vulnerable again, to love again after you got heartbroken in the past. I was a little bit concerned when the religious themes came up center in the plot but I was happy that it was subtle and not taking over the book. I found the book being a little bit slow but still a very enjoyable read, hence the 3,5 ⭐️ rating.
A huge thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC! All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.

Did you break his heart or did he break yours?”
“I like to think of it as a lesson,” she said. “Not a heartbreak.”

Snow Place Like Home is a heartwarming, small-town romance sure to give you all the feels this holiday season. Christmas is a time of giving, laughter, love and friendship, but sometimes it's also about being vulnerable and letting yourself experience love and all of those things again after a period of heartbreak.

This is a Christian romance so there are some more religious holiday and life aspects included, but they are overwhelming or preachy. They fit right in with the characters, their lives and why they are the way they are, and how they can grow and become something else.

Overall, this was a sweet, quick read that would be something perfect to add to your Christmas list!

This book was so overly cheesy and religious. If it had been a Hallmark movie that was over in 2 hours it would've been fine, instead I wasted a lot more time trying to read this book. I kept hoping it would get less cheesy and then I was almost to the end and might as well finish it.

Sweet, clean, emotional Christmas romance that is actually more faith filled than most things published by Thomas Nelson these days. I enjoyed it and the small town setting but the story felt a little dull and slow at times. This is my first by this author and I appreciate the focus around church and processing grief. It was enjoyable and one I will recommend to those who are looking for clean Christmas romance.

A heart-warming, small town romance. The story begins with young Ella and her mother sharing in a Christmas tradition of putting the star on the tree and making a wish. Ella's wish doesn't come true that next year and on top of that, her mother passes away. Ella grows up living with her aunt Addie and going to school with Seth, who she has a huge crush on. Seth doesn't know that and, in fact has his own crush on Ella. But, when graduation comes, Ella goes off to college and becomes an art curator. Now, Ella's job has come to an end, so she decides to go home for Christmas while she looks for a new place of employment. While home, Ella and Seth reconnect and she discovers that he was married and widowed two years ago. They each have some healing to do and their friendship can help them both.

This book is perfect for lovers of Hallmark Christmas movies. Just a sweet, feel-good story that'll make you smile.
