This was the spicy Christmas romance of my dreams! It had all of my catnip: forced proximity, one-bed, cuddling, starts as a fling, etc. ALL of them. I'm in heaven right now.

Short summary: Becca is the house mom at a sorority on campus, and Harrison, the head football coach. They once had a memorable kiss after a wonderful date. (All of this is off page, except in flashbacks.) Then he ghosted her. Cut to two years later, and as campus neighbors, they barely smile at each other. But a really big snowstorm is about to force them into the same house--and bed--and then they have to start admitting feelings. Big feelings. And it is wonderful to watch happen.

Snowe does a great job with this romance. She introduces just enough side characters to keep the plot going, and she is the *Master* at forced proximity. Whew. The heat that was being generated by the two of them was intense. The sexual tension is excellent, and I think Harrison had a good character arc. I identified with Becca from the very beginning (I myself am blonde and eccentric LOL). She was such a great FMC. She was kind and loving and smart and vulnerable.

Btw, don't let the cover fool you. This book is HOT. HOTTTTT. When Harrison finally says "screw it," it's a thing of beauty. He goes from being tightly wound to softly touching her, and then he realizes he needs ALL of her. I loved that Becca was skeptical of him. It made the tension much more realistic. I love, though, that she finally gives in to him because she's a grown woman and he's what she wants. None of this running around the point, and I love that in romances.

I truly can't say enough about this novel! This is a new-to-me author, but I will definitely be reading more of her work. I love how well she blended spice and plot, and that's a skill a lot of romance authors today lack. Cocoa/cozy vibes meets grump/sunshine meets forced proximity goodness!!

The premise had promise. It was a cute idea of a snow storm, forced proximity, one bed, and a second chance at romance - all tropes that I generally like, but the execution didn't work for me. It's mainly the miscommunication trope that is heavy in this story. It's not my favorite, however, if it's done well, and incorporated into the story in a manner that it makes sense for the characters to react that way, then I don't mind it. I didn't feel it happened here. I couldn't get into Becca and Harrison as a couple, either.

While it didn't work for me, I hope it's a pleasant read for someone else.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this book thinking about the reviews I had read. And, I am so glad I decided to forget about the reviews. I LOVED Snowed in for Christmas! I started reading it around 10:00 in the morning and finished it by 3:00 in the afternoon. I was drawn in from the first page to the last page. Can you tell I loved this book?????
Main characters, Becca and Harrison, are so likeable and endearing in their own way. I loved the chemistry between them.
With reading Snowed in for Christmas, you will get:
Opposites attract
Forced proximity
Spicy/Hot romance
Family tension/drama
Sunshine vs. Grumpy
Miscommunication
Author Jaqualine Snowe’s writing is solid and engaging.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a cute, heartwarming holiday book to read.

I have to admit that I worried that a book about a sorority mom would be fluffy and silly and, quite frankly, too juvenile for me, but I played right into the stereotypes that plague Becca Fairfield. Instead, she is thoughtful, intuitive, and hard-working, so it’s no wonder that her girls love her and would do anything for her, unlike her grumpy neighbor, football coach Harrison Cooper who is in a major funk when it comes to his family, his players, and his love life. Until a major blizzard blows into town and forces Becca to move in with Harrison, at least until the power comes back on. With the memory of a steamy kiss teasing their every action, the two quickly decide to become Blizzard Buddies and keep each other warm throughout the rest of the storm. This spicy holiday romance finds a solid balance between plot, character development and STEAM.

This was a fun holiday read! It felt a little clunky at times. The FMC was quirky and fun - I didn't mind that she was a big personality. The premise was a lot of fun but felt rushed at the end. I wanted a little more of a reason for why the MMC didn't call her back two years ago other than that he just wasn't ready. It didn't feel like that explanation made a lot of sense considering how attractive she was to him.

After a blizzard forces Becca and Harrison into close quarters they have to come to terms with a past date.
Cute, romantic, Christmas

This was a cute easy read but I did not love the chemistry that was given between the main characters. It was a solid 3 star romance.

This was a cute Christmas/winter romance that had some really good spice but lacked a lot of character development. Becca is the house mom of a sorority and as much as she claims to love it, she is also very stuck on how other people view her and her job. Apart from her role as house mom and that her mom is desperate for her to settle down, we don’t really learn anything else about her. No mention of girlfriends or any adult colleagues. Harrison is a grumpy football coach who happens to live next door. He and Becca went on one date two years prior and then he ghosted her. He lives in the shadow of his younger brother, Hank, who also coaches college football. The timeline of their relationship felt rushed but for a cute, spicy Christmas romance, it worked.

A very sweet, quick read about a second chance romance. Loved the Christmas Hallmark movie feel with some added spice. The miscommunication between Harrison and Becca was frustrating at times, but the characters were easy to like and root for. Overall, I would recommend this cute holiday romance.

Snowed In for Christmas was a fantastic Hallmark movie of a Christmas book. It was a light-hearted grumpy/sunshine trope that took place in a blizzard situation which is my favorite. I did have to suspend belief at -60 and 2 houses with broken windows and 6 ft of snow all working out fine by New Years, but once I did that, I had an enjoyable time :-) I want Becca to be my friend in real life and I was rooting for her the entire time.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book!

I wanted to love this one, I love a steamy Holiday romance but I just couldn’t get into this one and ended up DNFing around 37%. The characters just seemed sooo petty. And the miscommunication trope was STRONG in this one. This made the characters communication seem so immature. Some of the language between characters made me cringe. It just overall had an awkward feel that I couldn’t get past.

If you want a Hallmark movie in the form of a book, this is it. I loved both characters and while the story was mostly predictable, it had some fun twists and a satisfying ending.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this novel.

Loved the main character but my god I just wanted to scream at them to communicate with each other. I cannot stand this trope

Who is ready for the holidays or at least some snow? Snowed in for Christmas is set during the holiday season and a huge blizzard is about to hit the town. Neighbors Becca and Harrison had one date, two years ago. Becca thought it went well, they shared a passionate kiss and then Harrison ghosted her. Now they are neighbors and after the blizzard hits Becca needs to stay with Harrison.

This was super cute and a fast read to get you into a winter mood. Even though it was set during Christmas, they felt more like a winter novel due to the focus on the blizzard and being snowed in. Read this if you enjoy:

❄️ Second chance romance
❄️ Grumpy x sunshine
❄️ Forced proximity
❄️ Only one bed
❄️ Dual POV
❄️ Open door romance

Thanks for Forever and NetGalley for the advance readers copy. All thoughts are my own.

This was SO cute. Sorority house mom and college football coach get trapped together during a blizzard - what more could you ask for? This has grumpy/sunshine, chaotic family dynamics, and a FMC who knows what she wants! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free advance copy.

3.5

This was a cute book. I liked the contrast between the sunny sorority house mom and the grumpy football coach next door neighbor. They had some great conversations. I wished that the storm had passed sooner and we got them actually working on what they talked about like his implementing ideas for how to connect the football team. Having a player get hurt was unnecessary and took away from the work he truly needed to do.

Over though I did enjoy this book and would probably read more from this author.

3.5 stars for Snowed in for Christmas.

This one is tough to rate, because I definitely enjoyed it. I found it entertaining and I read it fairly quickly. But it just seemed like it was lacking something and I can't quite pinpoint what it was.

I really liked the main character, Becca. She was quirky and different and unafraid to be herself. She was used to people, mainly men, not taking her seriously but she didn't let it upset her. She was a sorority Mom and really cared about other people and was super protective. I also liked that this book had a heavy dose of steam. Think Hallmark after dark! Could easily be the plot for a Hallmark Christmas movie but with lots of sex! I liked the grumpy versus sunshine trope and the fact that the two main characters were trapped in a blizzard with one bed and needing to snuggle together for warmth.

While entertaining, the plot was definitely a little bit predictable. But I feel like that's true of most Christmas romances. I enjoyed reading this one and I'm glad I picked it up. It had a lot of potential, but just needed something more.

Snowed In for Christmas
by Jaqueline Snowe

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (0-5)
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (0-5) I bump up for public-type places (his sister’s house—whoop).

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 Steamy holiday romcom.
🤩 All-the-feels of love, longing (ugh, they did almost wreck me during a very short time apart), lusty goodness, and laughs.
🤩 The gorgeous turquoise cover—it might be my favorite paperback cover of 2023.
🤩 The tropes: snowed in, neighbors, and grumpy/sunshine.
🤩 And, steamy like a snowed in should be, with a power outage, a fireplace, one bed, and the need to stay warm. Harrison and Becca are sizzling hot together.
🤩 He saves/takes care of her and more than once.
🤩 Second chance after one great date & one amazing kiss (right person, wrong time).
🤩 The jobs—Harrison is the college football coach and Becca is a sorority house mom.
🤩 The characterization is fantastic—they are who they are, they adore each other, they make each other better, and I just love them so much.
🤩 Families—sometimes they’re hard, but life would be so boring without them.
🤩 One of my absolute favorite parts is when Harrison is on the phone with his younger brother, who he doesn’t get along well with. The brother is being horrible on the phone and Becca shows her sunshiny colors. Quote copied from book: “Harrison, come back to bed.” Becca cupped her hands over her mouth, making her voice sound muffled. It was perfect, and I damn near proposed then and there.

What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 I was a little disappointed the audible audiobook had so many errors (parts repeated and others omitted) that I had to return it for a refund. I hope they have them fixed now because the narrators were quite enjoyable.
