Overall I enjoyed the book. Becca was a fun, unique and strong character. I didn’t really like all the miscommunication but it moved the story along. I could see this as a Hallmark movie.

Ugh, this book.
I was so excited for this story.
A big snow storm with no power, forced proximity and a second chance romance.
Sounds right up my street.
The problem was that the writing didn't live up.
The characters come off much more immature than their age. You can tell the author was trying to add these deep cuts, but the emotional depth just wasn't there.
The other bit I didn't care for? The way it felt like I was reading cheesy 80s porn, not just the sex scenes, like the whole book reads with that superficial awkward you only really get when the pool guy or pizza delivery dude show up.
I appreciate NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) letting me check this out, just wasn't for me.

The dialogue seemed a bit off or clunky at times, esp for the students. I just have a hard time believing college girls would actually be that close with their house mother. Becca also felt a bit immature for the age she supposedly was, which made the spice scenes a bit awkward to read. This was definitely a case of insta-love, like much too short a time frame for my taste, but they were cute enough together to not have a problem finishing the book. The plot felt complete for the most part and the lack of side characters wasn’t too boring. Harrison was pretty sweet when he wanted to be, though his communication could’ve certainly been less frustrating at times. Overall, I’d give it more like a 3.5 but rounding up for decent spice!

This was a fun grumpy and sunshine holiday romance! Becca and Harrison are neighbors with a bit of a background, what will happen when they are snowed in due to a blizzard? I found Becca and Harrison to both be equally relatable. I also enjoyed their banter together. I enjoyed their story and couldn't put it down! Thank you NetGalley and Forever Pub for an advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

This is a cute holiday romance, with some fun steam, but it ramped up way to much in the last 10%. One minute Harrison would never seriously date again, the next he wanted to get married?

There was way too much focus throughout the whole story on their one date two years ago that never progressed. I love a snowed in romance, but it was hard to understand why Becca would even agree to be Blizzard Buddies with Benefits.

If you are looking for a steamy holiday romance with little angst, this might be the book for you.

A cute, fluffy romcom for Christmas. I didn't really connect with the characters like I wanted to, but it was an easy read, especially as I'm always on the lookout for holiday romances to recommend.

Thank you to Forever for making this available for review through NetGalley!

3.5⭐️This is such a fun winter read, I flew through this one on a plane ride! I loved Becca’s character- she was so quirky and unapologetically her, which was so refreshing! And Harrison.. a grump but you know he has that soft inside- I enjoyed getting to read about him with his sisters family and how the kids help him come out of his shell. The spice in this one was fun!

I do struggle with the miscommunication trope so ultimately this one fell a little short for me because so much of this could have been rectified with a single conversation 🤣 ultimately, I loved how this one wrapped up and would recommend for the holiday season!

After having just watched a sorority movie, writing this review is perfect! Becca isn't as vapid at the sorority moms in the movies, but she's still on the same struggle-bus. However, as the old saying goes, you tend to find someone when you stop looking. And Becca's life follows this plan - she's not looking and so being stuck in close quarters with Harrison is in the cards. I'm pretty confident they have enough smoldering heat to keep them warm!

This is a typical snow storm romance, but it's good. I loved Becca most of all.

This premise is so cute. Becca is a sorority mom. She loves living in the sorority house and loving on all her girls. Still, she is looking forward to spending the Christmas holidays reading and enjoying the quiet when the girls go home for break. Unfortunately, a blizzard rolls in and a broken window and no power forces her to team up with her neighbor, Harrison. Harrison is the university's football coach and not really into any holiday cheer. He prefers to spend time alone, especially after a losing season. He can't ignore Becca and her lack of power next door....even if he ghosted her two years ago after one date. Harrison invites Becca to stay with him during the blizzard.

I wanted to love this. Sadly, the writing just didn't work for me. It felt juvenile and unbelievably over the top. Becca and Harrison felt like caricatures instead of real people. The situations they found themselves in just didn't track for what you would expect of a blizzard. It was a ton of telling instead of showing and a lot of eye-rolling on my part. The setting was great and the premise could have worked so well but I just couldn't get past the author's writing style. That being said, this may work for someone else. It is both sweet and spicy at times and there is a warm, coziness to the story.

While this wasn't my favorite, it might be yours. I would recommend trying this one for anyone looking for an open door forced proximity romance for the holiday season.

First thought: Super cute wintery RomCom, that will have you laughing, blushing and grinning. It is a lighthearted opposites attract story that has a bit of spice. So grab some hot coco, sit in-front of the fire and find out what happens during the blizzard of a lifetime.

Becca is a sorority house mom who is walking sunshine, but she can’t find a guy who gets her. She has one amazing date 2 years ago but after a magical kiss he ghosted her. Since he’s her neighbor she politely smiles but avoids him at all costs. With winter break starting and all the girls going home she looking forward to a quite few weeks where she can read, knit and relax. However the weather has other plans.

Harrison is the college football coach, he’s divorced and is a bit of a grump. He has family drama and is struggling to get his team to take football seriously. He’s a good guy just doesn’t have space to date and he may of ghosted his crazy, colorful, cute neighbor 2 years ago.

The blizzard of a lifetime hits and these two are forced to bunker down in Harrison’s house. When power goes out they are stuck in the living room huddled in front of a fireplace to keep warm. Temps drop, flirting rises and these two decide to be blizzard buddies. But what started as a fling to pass time and to stay warm turns into more as they realize her sunshine balances out his grump.

Tropes you’ll find:

* Grumpy/Sunshine
* Forced Proximity
* One Bed
* Second Chance
* Opposites Attract
* Mild Spice
* Dual POV

I have read all of Jacqueline’s novellas and absolutely loved them. But this was my first full length book by her and I’m thinking novellas may be where her strength lies. But I will definitely give her full length books another try.

I struggled to connect with Becca. She was a bit too all over the place for me. She was so concerned with being prepared for the blizzard and then wasn’t prepared at all. I am still feeling the second hand embarrassment I got from her nervous ramblings.

I do think it is funny that Harrison thought Becca was high maintenance after their first date because after some of his internal dialogue I thought to myself “Wow! He sure is high maintenance.”

I was hoping the spice would keep me interested but after some perfectly average dirty talk I decided this book really wasn’t for me.

This is the first book I've read by Jaqueline Snowe. Second chance, forced proximity, and he falls first are all included and some of my favorite tropes. The storyline is simple enough but they both come with their own baggage, don't we all, and have to find a way to work through it. I think I liked the internal monologue of Harrison as he slowly realizes that he truly likes Becca and what their life might look like in the future. An easy read with just the right amount of Christmas magic to make it memorable.

A Sorority Mom and the school Football coach get stuck in town after the worst snowpocalyse of the century. The cute, bubbly outgoing Sorority Mom Becca is so dedicated to the girls she tries to fix a broken window but gets hurt in the process and the sexy next door neighbour Harrison comes to rescue. They both become storm buddies and stay in Harrison's house together to wait our the storm. Becca is still mad at Harrison for not calling her back after their first date but he is able to win her over.

I so enjoyed this book. Becca and Harrison are perfect for each other but they both think too much and dont get out of their heads. Everyone should have a snow apocolypse.

This is a grumpy-sunshine romance trope book and instead of one bed, we’re getting one house and a snowpocalypse.

Becca is a sorority house mom and it’s just days before Christmas. The girls in the house are heading home and Becca is looking forward to many uninterrupted days ahead. But then, the blizzard of the century blows into town and the big drafty house she lives has lost power. Her very hot neighbor Harrison, who is also a complete grump, comes to rescue her and insist she stay with him to wait out the storm. He doesn’t have power either, but he does have a fireplace, and he knows they’ll survive if they stay together. But they have a slight history - they once went on a date two years ago, and after that he ghosted her. So with the attraction blossoming between the two, the decide to become Blizzard Buddies, because what could go wrong?

This book takes place mostly over just a few days as Becca and Harrison ride out the storm together, fighting through windows breaking, and negative forty windchill temperatures. Naturally they have to use their body heat for warmth, right? While I usually expect romance novels to be predictable and sometimes implausible, this one pushed past that line even more than normal.

But also, this book was so slow moving. The last 1/3 of the book felt super rushed, while the first 2/3 felt like it took forever. There were only so many more ways to talk about how they had to stay together to be warm and I was definitely ready for that part of the story to be over. I was tired of the repetition.

I did really like both of the characters. Becca was self-proclaimed as odd and different and apparently all of her past dates seemed to tell her that. Harrison was the typical grumpy male character with a heart of gold underneath. And their dynamic was really fun to read about.

I think it was just too Hallmark-y for me. I don’t like Christmas Hallmark movies because it’s all just too unbelievable and this definitely felt that way. The ending also had me rolling my eyes a bit, but I think the author also gave exactly what romance readers tend to expect.

So while it’s a good Christmas romance novel, I think there are others out there that I’ve enjoyed a lot more.

This was a cute book! The MC's were lovable and I liked the snowed in circumstance of the plot. There were a few predictable and unrealistic pieces of the plot that didn't bother me too much, but I feel like the last third of the book was rushed. I wished it would have unfolded like the first 2/3's rather than feeling like the author was just trying to wrap it up. I love a Christmas romance so I still enjoyed the book! Felt like a Hallmark movie! Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author for the ARC in return for my thoughts on the book!

I love the holiday season. I try my best to read as many Christmas stories as I come across. I was very happy to receive this ARC.

What happens when you take two opposites and force them into proximity because of a snow storm? Love happens that’s what.

The story was cute if not predictable. I loved both the main characters and truly thought they earned their happy ending. A perfect book to read on a cool cozy night.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever publishing for the ARC.

4 stars!

"Snowed In for Christmas" by Jacqueline Snowe is a super cute grumpy/sunshine, blizzard-induced forced proximity, second chance holiday romance with good humor, even better banter, family drama, hot cocoa, and even hotter spice. This has "Hallmark" written all over it, but I cannot deny that I love that about this story. I personally loved Becca and Harrison. Both of them have terrific backstories that are anything but surface-level. These are two fully flushed-out, realized characters. I found myself rooting for them both together and separately. Becca is nurturing, colorful, sweet, and quirky (but not in an annoying way), but is still a little insecure and human. Harrison is totally misunderstood. She does act a *tad* childish at times, though. His grumpiness is completely understandable once you know his backstory. He is seen on the outside by some as a dumb jock, but he is caring, sensitive, and socially awkward at times. He has been burned by his family AND his ex-wife, so he is guarded in any and all aspects of love. I love the circumstances that bring them together in the form of a massive blizzard.... oh nooOoOo, they need to snuggle together to maintain their warmth and make grilled cheese sandwiches and get to know each other and talk because they can't waste the battery on their phones! NooOOOoOo, whatever shall they doOoOoOO. *wink* I was entertained and engaged the entire book. The ending is a little cheesy and annoying, but I can forgive it since the rest of the book did it for me. It's full of emotion, silliness, inside jokes, sexiness, banter, and a massive spark between the two of them. Definitely put this book on your holiday TBR, along with a nice, roaring fire and a steaming hot cup of cocoa!

Thank you to NetGalley, Jacqueline Snowe, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for my review.

3.5⭐️ rounded up

Sorority house mom Becca Fairfield is no stranger to the dumpster fire that is dating men. She thought things were starting to look up after a great first date and steamy kiss with football coach (and next door neighbor) Harrison Cooper, but then he completely ghosts her. She’s tired of being “too much” for her dates so she’s focusing on her job and the girls under her care.

Now the holidays have arrived and a blizzard is on the horizon. The girls have all gone home for the holidays and the house is empty, but Becca is prepared with hot cocoa and plenty of books to keep her company. Unfortunately, she’s underestimated the severity of the storm and finds herself in a panic when the power goes out. That’s when Harrison swoops in with an offer to shelter together until the storm passes. She would be an idiot to refuse, but things get complicated when cuddling for warmth turns into something more.

A grumpy/sunshine, second chance, forced proximity love story that gave Hallmark movie vibes, this story was a quick, joyful read. Becca was incredibly relatable, especially when she starts her nervous ramblings. Harrison gives off grumpy vibes, but the chapters from his POV prove that he’s not quite as grumpy as one would think. It's clear neither of them has forgotten about the chemistry they once shared before Harrison made it awkward as hell by ghosting Becca.

Speaking of which, the history between the pair plays a prominent part in the story though we don’t see any of it unfold on the page. There is a lot of mention of the date and kiss that they shared, but I think the story would have been elevated a bit by some flashbacks to those moments rather just having the characters revisit them in their internal dialogue.

That being said, I don't think I could've handled more miscommunication so I'm also kind of glad we didn't get those moments on the page. As the pair get closer, they are also both trying hard to keep their feelings in check and a secret from the other. It all comes to a head in everyone's favorite trope to hate - miscommunication. It's made worse by the fact that you see the miscommunication play out from both POVs, which made me internally scream at them both for being idiots.

While the love story between Becca and Harrison was nice, I found myself loving their interactions with others more, especially when they both finally start standing up for themselves. There are definitely some toxic family members (and some toxic actions by loving family members) that needed to be put in their place and it was a joy to see both characters find encouragement from the other to be able to make their stand. Additionally, the love and care that both had for the kids in their care (the sorority girls for Becca and the football players for Harrison) warmed my heart.

I just finished reading this book while sitting next to the fire, listening to Christmas music and even though it's only October, the afternoon was perfect. I really enjoyed getting to know Becca and Harrison as they got to know each other. It was great holiday story about falling in love. Thanks #NetGalley
