This is the first book I've read by Jaqueline Snowe. Second chance, forced proximity, and he falls first are all included and some of my favorite tropes. The storyline is simple enough but they both come with their own baggage, don't we all, and have to find a way to work through it. I think I liked the internal monologue of Harrison as he slowly realizes that he truly likes Becca and what their life might look like in the future. An easy read with just the right amount of Christmas magic to make it memorable.

A Sorority Mom and the school Football coach get stuck in town after the worst snowpocalyse of the century. The cute, bubbly outgoing Sorority Mom Becca is so dedicated to the girls she tries to fix a broken window but gets hurt in the process and the sexy next door neighbour Harrison comes to rescue. They both become storm buddies and stay in Harrison's house together to wait our the storm. Becca is still mad at Harrison for not calling her back after their first date but he is able to win her over.

I so enjoyed this book. Becca and Harrison are perfect for each other but they both think too much and dont get out of their heads. Everyone should have a snow apocolypse.

This is a grumpy-sunshine romance trope book and instead of one bed, we’re getting one house and a snowpocalypse.

Becca is a sorority house mom and it’s just days before Christmas. The girls in the house are heading home and Becca is looking forward to many uninterrupted days ahead. But then, the blizzard of the century blows into town and the big drafty house she lives has lost power. Her very hot neighbor Harrison, who is also a complete grump, comes to rescue her and insist she stay with him to wait out the storm. He doesn’t have power either, but he does have a fireplace, and he knows they’ll survive if they stay together. But they have a slight history - they once went on a date two years ago, and after that he ghosted her. So with the attraction blossoming between the two, the decide to become Blizzard Buddies, because what could go wrong?

This book takes place mostly over just a few days as Becca and Harrison ride out the storm together, fighting through windows breaking, and negative forty windchill temperatures. Naturally they have to use their body heat for warmth, right? While I usually expect romance novels to be predictable and sometimes implausible, this one pushed past that line even more than normal.

But also, this book was so slow moving. The last 1/3 of the book felt super rushed, while the first 2/3 felt like it took forever. There were only so many more ways to talk about how they had to stay together to be warm and I was definitely ready for that part of the story to be over. I was tired of the repetition.

I did really like both of the characters. Becca was self-proclaimed as odd and different and apparently all of her past dates seemed to tell her that. Harrison was the typical grumpy male character with a heart of gold underneath. And their dynamic was really fun to read about.

I think it was just too Hallmark-y for me. I don’t like Christmas Hallmark movies because it’s all just too unbelievable and this definitely felt that way. The ending also had me rolling my eyes a bit, but I think the author also gave exactly what romance readers tend to expect.

So while it’s a good Christmas romance novel, I think there are others out there that I’ve enjoyed a lot more.

This was a cute book! The MC's were lovable and I liked the snowed in circumstance of the plot. There were a few predictable and unrealistic pieces of the plot that didn't bother me too much, but I feel like the last third of the book was rushed. I wished it would have unfolded like the first 2/3's rather than feeling like the author was just trying to wrap it up. I love a Christmas romance so I still enjoyed the book! Felt like a Hallmark movie! Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author for the ARC in return for my thoughts on the book!

I love the holiday season. I try my best to read as many Christmas stories as I come across. I was very happy to receive this ARC.

What happens when you take two opposites and force them into proximity because of a snow storm? Love happens that’s what.

The story was cute if not predictable. I loved both the main characters and truly thought they earned their happy ending. A perfect book to read on a cool cozy night.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever publishing for the ARC.

4 stars!

"Snowed In for Christmas" by Jacqueline Snowe is a super cute grumpy/sunshine, blizzard-induced forced proximity, second chance holiday romance with good humor, even better banter, family drama, hot cocoa, and even hotter spice. This has "Hallmark" written all over it, but I cannot deny that I love that about this story. I personally loved Becca and Harrison. Both of them have terrific backstories that are anything but surface-level. These are two fully flushed-out, realized characters. I found myself rooting for them both together and separately. Becca is nurturing, colorful, sweet, and quirky (but not in an annoying way), but is still a little insecure and human. Harrison is totally misunderstood. She does act a *tad* childish at times, though. His grumpiness is completely understandable once you know his backstory. He is seen on the outside by some as a dumb jock, but he is caring, sensitive, and socially awkward at times. He has been burned by his family AND his ex-wife, so he is guarded in any and all aspects of love. I love the circumstances that bring them together in the form of a massive blizzard.... oh nooOoOo, they need to snuggle together to maintain their warmth and make grilled cheese sandwiches and get to know each other and talk because they can't waste the battery on their phones! NooOOOoOo, whatever shall they doOoOoOO. *wink* I was entertained and engaged the entire book. The ending is a little cheesy and annoying, but I can forgive it since the rest of the book did it for me. It's full of emotion, silliness, inside jokes, sexiness, banter, and a massive spark between the two of them. Definitely put this book on your holiday TBR, along with a nice, roaring fire and a steaming hot cup of cocoa!

Thank you to NetGalley, Jacqueline Snowe, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for my review.

3.5⭐️ rounded up

Sorority house mom Becca Fairfield is no stranger to the dumpster fire that is dating men. She thought things were starting to look up after a great first date and steamy kiss with football coach (and next door neighbor) Harrison Cooper, but then he completely ghosts her. She’s tired of being “too much” for her dates so she’s focusing on her job and the girls under her care.

Now the holidays have arrived and a blizzard is on the horizon. The girls have all gone home for the holidays and the house is empty, but Becca is prepared with hot cocoa and plenty of books to keep her company. Unfortunately, she’s underestimated the severity of the storm and finds herself in a panic when the power goes out. That’s when Harrison swoops in with an offer to shelter together until the storm passes. She would be an idiot to refuse, but things get complicated when cuddling for warmth turns into something more.

A grumpy/sunshine, second chance, forced proximity love story that gave Hallmark movie vibes, this story was a quick, joyful read. Becca was incredibly relatable, especially when she starts her nervous ramblings. Harrison gives off grumpy vibes, but the chapters from his POV prove that he’s not quite as grumpy as one would think. It's clear neither of them has forgotten about the chemistry they once shared before Harrison made it awkward as hell by ghosting Becca.

Speaking of which, the history between the pair plays a prominent part in the story though we don’t see any of it unfold on the page. There is a lot of mention of the date and kiss that they shared, but I think the story would have been elevated a bit by some flashbacks to those moments rather just having the characters revisit them in their internal dialogue.

That being said, I don't think I could've handled more miscommunication so I'm also kind of glad we didn't get those moments on the page. As the pair get closer, they are also both trying hard to keep their feelings in check and a secret from the other. It all comes to a head in everyone's favorite trope to hate - miscommunication. It's made worse by the fact that you see the miscommunication play out from both POVs, which made me internally scream at them both for being idiots.

While the love story between Becca and Harrison was nice, I found myself loving their interactions with others more, especially when they both finally start standing up for themselves. There are definitely some toxic family members (and some toxic actions by loving family members) that needed to be put in their place and it was a joy to see both characters find encouragement from the other to be able to make their stand. Additionally, the love and care that both had for the kids in their care (the sorority girls for Becca and the football players for Harrison) warmed my heart.

I just finished reading this book while sitting next to the fire, listening to Christmas music and even though it's only October, the afternoon was perfect. I really enjoyed getting to know Becca and Harrison as they got to know each other. It was great holiday story about falling in love. Thanks #NetGalley

Sorority house mom Becca is used to being a little “different.” She goes on dates and the guys either don’t get her or it’s so boring she couldn’t imagine a second round. Harrison is the grumpy football coach who lives next door. They went on one date and he never called. When a big snowstorm hits, the two are forced together to weather out the storm and sparks fly. But is this just a blizzard fling, or is it something more?

I love the premise of a snowed in romance story. There’s something very Hallmark about it. I imagine being bundled in layers of clothing, in front of a warm fire, while sipping cocoa. And you definitely get that vibe in this book. BUT you also get some way too detailed steamy scenes too…

This book was kind of a mixed bag for me. I love a good romance story, but I definitely think this one could have used a little less detail. Some of the sweetness was lost for me and I ended up skimming over some of the more steamy scenes because that wasn’t the story I was looking for here.

In the end, I gave this book 3 stars. I love the idea, but I think I’m more of a sweet romance reader instead of a steamy romance reader.

Get ready for all the feels! Grab your favorite drink, settle into your favorite reading spot, make sure you have tissues nearby as you'll need them for tears and spills as laughter is sure to have you dribbling your favorite drink. The characters are very compelling and they draw you in and keep you invested in this story of opposites attracting with a tinge of second chances and heaping dose of close proximity leading to romance. The female lead is by far my favorite character as she truly lives life as she is and accepts that she is uniquely different. While a bit over the top at times, it really drives the message home that you need to be who you are and love who you are before you can find someone to fall in love with. So many times, people try to turn themselves into what others think of them or what they think others want of them and it rarely works out as you can only shutter your true self for so long. While I found inspiration from the main female character, make no mistake this book is absolutely an entertaining read that will have you giggle-snorting, tearing up and growling at other characters in equal measures. It has a nice level of spice to also get you heated up a bit and a lovely happily ever after to complete the picture. I truly found the story delightfully entertaining and look forward to more stories from this author! If you are looking for a great Christmas romance read, then you have found the right book!

Unfortunately I DNF’d this book. I’m not sure when it took a turn for me but I lost interest in the characters and their situation. I really liked the idea of this book but it wasn’t for me. I will still checkout future books by Jaqueline Snowe.

I have mixed feelings about this book. Honestly, if I had read it in December I might have been so in the mood that I just loved it so I don’t want to be too harsh. However, as cute as the romance was and as lovely as the characters were. I am just over the miscommunication trope. It’s especially bad when it is drawn out or repetitive. It just makes the relationship seemed doomed or makes the characters seem incompatible. It was decent, but definitely wait till December to give it a try.

This one was not to my taste, but I can imagine other people enjoying it. Becca is a sorority mom and Harrison is her next door neighbor, the college football coach. Over winter break there is a blizzard and Becca needs to stay with Harrison because she is unprepared for the harsh weather. They had a date two years ago but Harrison ghosted her afterwards. Becca is a kind of a manic pixie dreamgirl but in a very basic way; she wears mismatched clothes and likes to knit and knows random trivia. She has a hard time finding love because men think she's too silly or frivolous. Harrison, of course, is besotted once he gets to know her. It could have been good, but Becca reads like an actual child sometimes, and their interactions were just a little too silly for me at points. I'm sure this is someone's cup of tea but it wasn't for me. Three stars because it wasn't aggressively bad, just really, really not for me.

Thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun take on nonacademic adults in an academic setting. I loved how confident Becca was but at the same time let Harrison take care of her. I loved that he didn't think he was too much. I am not usually a second chance romance person BUT I was pleasantly suprised with this one. A wonderful cozy holiday book.

Y’all this one is just super cute 🥰 like grab a cup of hot chocolate, start a fire and settle in!

I was a little worried Becca was too happy but I found I loved her by the end! These two have to start over and the forced proximity due to a blizzard make it all come out! One bed anyone 🙌🙌
These two have chemistry and enjoyed the families on both side! Overall a wonderful Christmas book to start off the holiday read season 🤶🏻🎄

This was such a fun GrumpyxSunshine holiday story! I think this is one of the first snowed-in forced proximity romances I've read but it was so fun and done well. I loved the banter between Becca and Harrison. They were such a fun couple.

Read if you like:
- Dual POVs
- One bed trope
- Banter!
- Dislike to love
- Second Chance Romance

Snowed In For Christmas
Jacqueline Snowe

•Christmas romcom
•Super spicy

When a sunshine sorority mom (Becca) and a grumpy football coach (Harrison) get snowed in together, will their sparks be enough to keep them warm? Or will the ice of their long-ago date be enough to keep them apart?

This was an easy, fun holiday romp with the perfect winter setting. And while I do wish I'd felt a deeper emotional connection between Becca and Harrison, the spice was off the charts. 🔥 Though this wasn't a fave for me, it's bound to be a fan favorite this holiday season. ❤️

Thank you Forever for the gifted copy 💕

If you're in the mood for a heartwarming holiday romance (that is more romance, than holiday), look no further than this sweet and spicy debut novel that will have you feeling all warm & fuzzy. Featuring a life-threatening blizzard over Christmas break, along with many of our favorite tropes (second-chance romance, grumpy/sunshine, only-one-bed, and forced proximity), this book tells the tale of Becca and Harrison and the holiday they will never forget.
Becca and Harrison are neighbors who had one amazing date 2 years ago and have barely interacted since. They are brought back together by a freak blizzard that strands them together --- under one roof --- with no power. As they wait out the storm and finally get to know each other, they realize that the spark from 2 years ago is still there, and that maybe this holiday season is the perfect time to give things another shot.
With some homemade holiday cheer, heartfelt conversations, and a few deliciously spicy scenes, this book is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit. So, grab a cup of hot cocoa, cozy up by the fire, and enjoy this delightful holiday romance.

I received an advance copy of the book from the publishers. All opinions are my own.

This is a cutesy holiday romance, but there wasn’t anything particularly special about it that stood out for me.
