This grumpy/ sunshine , forced proximity, second chance romance was such a fun read!

I loved Becca! She’s quirky, caring, and sweet. Harrison is her sexy grumpy neighbor with a soft cinnamon roll interior! Their relationship is just so fun!

When a huge blizzard hits, and Becca finds herself without power, heat, or enough fire wood, Harrison comes to the rescue. While trapped together in Harrison’s house during the storm, they’re forced to address the awkwardness caused by Harrison ghosting Becca two years prior.

As these blizzard buddies get to know each other sparks fly!

This was a three-star read for me. The majority of the conflict in this story was based on miscommunication and just a complete lack of communication, which is why I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Becca is the house mom for a sorority and Harrison is the football coach at the same college. They went on a date two years ago and Harrison said he’d call her but he never did. Now the students have left campus for the Christmas holiday and a blizzard is coming through. They both lose power and Harrison (being a good next-door neighbor) brings Becca to his house to ride out the storm.

If this same story happened with college students, I probably wouldn’t have been annoyed with it, but the heroine was in her late twenties and the hero was in his mid-thirties, so it was frustrating for them to flip flop back and forth in their own heads about how they felt and then just never directly communicate with one another. This was dual POV so you got to see them both do this. Also, the hero explicitly commented multiple times about how bad he was at communicating but then he was suddenly very articulate when it came to seducing Becca. And Becca kept saying how confident she was in quirkiness and she didn’t care what anyone thought about her but then two minutes later she was babbling nervously because she thought she said something wrong and was afraid Harrison thought she was weird.

I really loved the premise and I loved how Becca built Harrison’s confidence up with relating better to his athletes. I also loved the last 10% when he knew for sure what he wanted, but everything else in the story just didn’t work for me. I think it was meant to feel kind of angsty but it just felt immature instead.

Becca is a quirky, sunshiney, sorority mom and Harrison is the grumpy college football coach who lives next door that ghosted her after one date 2 years ago. The pair find themselves stuck together in his house for a few days as a winter storm knocks the power out.

I thought this book was really cute! Becca is totally sunshine personified and the way she brings out the best in Harrison is so cute to read. If you like Christmas books and the grumpy/sunshine trope- Snowed In For Christmas is a must read!

A sunshine sorority house mom and grumpy college football coach find themselves in forced proximity during the holidays when a snowstorm wipes out the power on campus. The catch is they went on one date a couple of years ago and have barely spoken since.

This is the perfect book for the holiday season. It is extremely bingeable (read in a few hours), lighthearted, and full of Christmas antics. While the story is very insta love, the two main characters had wonderful chemistry and banter, making it easy to find their relationship believable. Also, being someone who loved their sorority house mom, I found it easy to connect with Becca and understand her quirky character. This is definitely one to check out if you are a fan of holiday romances.

Overall- cute story. I struggled with some of the house issues during a blizzard (I live in ND with these conditions and have never heard of someone’s window spontaneously bursting) and craved a little more back story about both main characters. I would’ve enjoyed learning more about Harrison’s relationship with his team and his family issues seemed rushed at the end.

When I saw this book on NetGalley, I had to sign up. I was ready for a little Christmas in July. By chance earlier this week, my new Bookstagram friend @booksimperfectcondition invited me to join her Book-It Summer Reading Challenge. For July, we need a holiday book, and this one delivered on both accounts! Snowed In for Christmas by Jaqueline Snowe (could that name be more perfect?) is a perfect holiday read for anytime of year! It stars a grumpy, college football coach and then sorority house mom in a forced proximity, sorta enemies to lovers tale. Becca is our quirky, ray of sunshine. She’s our type of girl- her socks don’t match, she checked out 10 books for Christmas break, AND stored them in her favorite reading spot throughout her house. OUR TYPE OF GIRL! Two years ago, she went on an amazing date with her neighbor, Harrison, who is also the football coach at the same university. He ghosted her, so she has been avoiding him despite living next door. A huge snowstorm hits the campus and knocks out the power, and Harrison comes to the rescue. Together, they navigate the snowpocalypse, complicated family dynamics during the holidays, and the dreaded conversation about the ghosting. The story is cute and cozy and made me miss the holidays (that and the 100 degree weather). Definitely check this one out October 3rd!
Thank you to NetGalley and Jaqueline Snowe for the advanced copy! I couldn’t have enjoyed it more!

Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for graciously providing my complimentary copy of Snowed In For Christmas by Jaqueline Snowe. I'm leaving this review on my own with my own opinions and thoughts.

This was a fun Christmas read. I liked the forced proximity, single-bed, second-chance romance, and grumpy/sunshine tropes that Snowe incorporated.

I just didn't mesh with the MCs and found myself getting a little bored with them, which is why I am not rating it higher. Otherwise, I recommend this one to anyone who love the above tropes listed, and anyone who is looking for a fun Christmas read.

Thanks, Forever!

After sharing an awkward kiss in the past, quirky Becca and grumpy Harrison are thrown together over their holiday break, due to a blizzard and some unfortunate circumstances.

I truly wanted to love this book, I was excited to dive into a Christmassy romance in July. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I will happily indulge in a holiday romance any time of year. Unfortunately, I just didn't love Becca and Harrison as main characters. From the get-go they fell flat for me, even with Becca's character being described as being blond and quirky.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Jaqueline Snowe for the chance to review the eARC! All opinions expressed are voluntary and my own words.

This was such a fun read! I read it while on a beach vacation, and even though it's summertime, it made me long for snowy days filled with hot chocolate and cuddling up by the fire. This story was sexy and funny, and I loved Becca and Harrison.

Becca is a sorority house mom, and she is constantly being set up for dates by her mom. The dates never understand her job, and they think that she is too weird or strange. I loved that Becca didn't change herself for anyone. She was so funny and just herself at all times. When she gets snowed in with her neighbor, the grumpy football coach named Harrison, things start to get steamy for her.

Becca and Harrison went on a date 2 years ago, and they shared an amazing kiss.. but he ghosted her! As Harrison is forced to spend time with Becca, he realizes that he may have made a mistake 2 years ago. Their chemistry was so much fun to read about.

I didn't like the third act breakup, and I didn't like that instalove toward the end of the book. I loved how things developed for them, but it would have been better if it wasn't just an automatic love situation.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for an ARC of this book.
I recommend it if you love:
- forced proximity
- second chance love
- grumpy/sunshine
- a holiday romance with lots of snow!

Grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity and Christmas all in one romcom? Count me in. I loved this one, and could relate to both characters's less-than-perfect self-esteem and anxiety, and I loved that they found their perfect match in each other. The caretaking aspect was nice too, along with the only one bed (or mattress); some spice but not too much, and cute F.r.i.e.n.d.s references made this romcom really enjoyable!

“Fling. Fling. Flingy-fling.”
Even a fling can turn into more🤫.

This book made me laugh out loud so much! The best enemies to lovers romantic comedy! I always love how a sunshine can turn a grump around. Seriously the perfect holiday rom-com!

Becca is a house mom of betas. While she lives next door to the coach she kissed and he never called her back. Fate always has a way of playing things out.

Harrison, coach and divorcee has no intentions of dating anyone any time soon. But a blizzard will change all of that.

The sparks and chemistry between these two were off the charts! I truly enjoyed this book so much. Harrison was grey and Becca brought the sunshine. Getting to know these characters and seeing them both grow was beautiful to read. They were the perfect opposites attract.

Thank you, Forever of Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for the EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts.

Becca is a super quirky sorority mom and her neighbor Harrison is the grumpy football coach. Snowed in for Christmas after a failed date two years prior makes for some awkward moments. This will definitely be a great read for those winter months, and those warm months needing a cool down!

Thank you Net Galley, and Forever Hackett Group for an ARC copy of this book.

My personal thoughts were Becca was just a wee too quirky for me. Her lack of swear words made her seem a little too immature for who she showed as an authority figure. I did like her internal struggle for wanting to reign in her rambles. Her experiencing rejection throughout her life because of her anxious habits was something I haven’t read before; it was well written.
Harrison was a great grumpy/sunshine character, and I think he fit the role of protector/coach well. Him digging a little deeper (with Becca’s assistance) as to why he has such a negative outlook was great to read.

A very sweet and a gorgeous romance. The main characters, hero and heroine, were so adorable and loveable. I loved them!

Well that was just about the cutest binge-able holiday story ever ! I am not one for reading Christmas books in July, buuttt, when this came up as a read now I just had to have it.

What do you get when you cross a quirky headstrong woman, a broody man, Christmas and a looming snowstorm? Just about the best story ever. I really liked how Jaqueline wrote Becca as a strong, independent woman, but also knew when to let her step down and be helped. Harrison has his own issues, but I love how Becca shows him how to stand up for himself.

That ending made my heart very happy, so I will pretend the little misunderstanding never happened.

I was so pumped to be approved for this book because I was so pumped to see it finally land a home with a publisher. It takes place at a college in central Illinois, that if you do a little author look up and are familiar with Illinois, it's U of I. Which I absolutely, positively adored.

It's dual, 1st person POV, grumpy vs sunshine, almost second chance (if you count a first date and a kiss two years prior), open door. It's a little insta-lusty when you first meet each character, which makes the MMC's ghosting a little weird until he explains it at almost 40%. He comes off almost as a horndog because he's "reacting" with "tightness" and "need" and he "Couldn't leave her now if he wanted" but HE was the one who didn't call HER.

The writing is fun and moves at a great pace. It is a little show and tell in similar Rom Com peers' way, but I don't think it detracts from the story at all. I also don't think it was necessary, as I thought the author did a great job of showing a lot of what she was also telling. So it did feel oh-so-mildly redundant and unnecessary. The banter is realistic and engaging to read. The characters are well rounded and three dimensional with depth and well fleshed out backstories. The plot is fun--perfect for the middle of summer heat or dead of winter read!

The third act break up is miscommunication, so if you're not a fan, it'll irk you as you read. They resolve it quickly and maturely, but it's definitely still there.

I adored the sorority positivity in this novel! As someone who spent a good number of weekends at her sister's sorority house at U of I, it was so nice to read.

It's such a fun, quick, easy read that will have you wanting to turn the pages and get lost in a snowstorm. If you like Sarah Adams-style books, but want it to be just a little more better and with open door scenes, this is for you!!

I can't wait to see what traditional publishing does for this author's career!!!

WOW! This was like a spicy Hallmark movie!!

I read it at the airport and I couldn’t stop reading!! It’s not quite like any Christmas book I’ve read before. I loved the character development and the real life scenarios that were talked about.

I’ll be posting about this amazing book on my instagram (Bookmarkedfavs) this Thursday, July 20 as part of my Christmas in July!

I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I knew how this book was going to end before it even started. I mean, it's a fluffy romcom.

Misunderstanding troupe (you weren't interested in me?)--check
Sexual attraction and thinking the "we'll just be sex buddies because we can snuggle and get warm and not freeze from the blizzard"--check
Characters growing and bringing out the good in one another--check

Just what I needed read when it's 100 degrees outside--check

[ it is quite sexual in parts though ;) So certain audiences would need warning. (hide spoiler)]

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for giving me a digital copy of "Snowed In for Christmas" by Jaqueline Snowe in exchange for an honest review.

Sorority house mom Becca lives next door to Harrison, the college's football coach. They went on a single date two years ago, and although both supposedly had a good time and a steamy kiss afterward, Harrison ghosted her. Things have been awkward ever since. Why did he ghost her? His immediate reason was that because she's pretty, well-dressed, and friendly, she must also be high-maintenance. (Yes, I know.....Ugh).

Fast forwarding to present day, it's a few days before Christmas; all the house residents except Becca have gone home for the holidays and a blizzard strikes. There's a broken window in the house, no firewood, and then the power goes out. But you know who has lots of firewood? Harrison, of course! He trudges over and insists she hunker down at his place for the duration. Because the storm is predicted to have dangerously low temperatures, she has no choice but to get over her reservations and shelter with him.

Forced proximity works its magic, sorta. The first full day spent together is pretty dang cringe; they keep triggering each other but nobody explains why they're upset. He says something. She withdraws from the conversation. He makes assumptions about what caused that. Repeat. She says something, he withdraws, etc etc. After a full day of this, he gets around to explaining his ghosting behavior and apologizes.

By 3 am, they're curled up in front of the fireplace (because SHARING BODY HEAT is more effective than a million sweaters and every blanket in the house) and the naughty games begin. They then agree to a "blizzard buddy fling" which is just non-friends-with-benefits arrangement for the duration of the storm. Things progress from there. They have plenty of hanky panky, absurdly drive to his sister's house for Christmas (despite the roads not yet being cleared after a freaking BLIZZARD with 6 foot snow drifts but it's okay because he drives a big ole truck), and by the end of the book, they are in luuuuuuurve.

I spent so much of this book just being annoyed. Harrison's issue is that he has a deeply toxic family situation and that, in combination with an unsuccessful marriage a few years prior, has left him pretty messed up. Hence his assumption about Becca being high maintenance. He eventually confronts his terrible parents via video chat, and while that's a good first step, I just cannot help but think this guy needs some decent therapy before I can believe that he's going to be fair and present in any future relationships.

I just never really get the sense that Harrison likes or actually understands Becca. He goes from assuming she's too much work, to thinking she's Not Like Other Girls, to planning a proposal after spending three days alone together. It's just too fast, too superficial to believe. Another thing, and this is strictly a personal pet peeve, twice he calls her a "Good girl" when she agrees to something. The condescension of that phrase infuriates me. She's a grown-ass woman, not a golden retriever.

For her part, I found Becca slightly more likeable, but no more believable. She's kooky! She's colorful! She doesn't match her socks because she likes the surprise of looking down and seeing things jumbled together. Everybody likes her (except the million dates her mother set her up with after the initial Harrison fiasco). She knits because we all know that kooky, warm people like to play with yarn! She veers dangerously close to (but doesn't quite cross) the line of becoming a manic-pixie dream girl but only because she so gracefully handles the responsibility of being proxy parent to dozens of college students.

I hated the resolution to Harrison's professional issues. At the start of the story, the school football team is wallowing. Harrison believes it's because this bunch of players just don't have any drive, discipline, or desire to do what it takes. He has no idea how to engender team spirit, despite having played and coached the game for years. Ultimately, the team does pull together but only after one of the running backs gets into a terrible drunk driving accident and ends up in a coma. They all gather at the hospital and while the young man will never play ball again, the rest of the team is suddenly ready and willing to work together. So rather than use this as a chance to show real character growth on Harrison's part, he gets to rely on a catastrophic medical event to bring about the changes he wants to see. As a narrative device, it's cheap and gross.

I'll probably try another book by this author, because it isn't fair or accurate to base my opinions on just one sample. However, I am not looking forward to doing so.

Becca is a sorority house mom who is bubbly and vivacious and is constantly told by men that she is "too much". She's still smarting from being ghosted by her next door neighbor and the college's football coach, Harrison, two years ago. When they both find themselves snowed in alone during a once-in-a-lifetime storm, they hunker down together and end up finding out a lot more about each other.

I thought this was a really cute snowed-in holiday romance! For some reason, based on the cover, I assumed this was going to be closed door but it definitely wasn't!! I really liked Becca's character and her awkwardness and am glad that Harrison got to see beyond the bubbly personality to the insecurities as well. And as quiet as he is, he's also very supportive of her.

Read this for:
- Grump/Sunshine
- Holiday Romance
- Dual POV
- Forced Proximity
- Only One Bed
- Neighbors

The assumptions that both characters made definitely got a little old pretty quickly and the third act breakup was naturally all about a miscommunication which is one of my pet peeves. I really don't mind a third act breakup or conflict but I REALLY struggle with miscommunication when it's the only reason.

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever for the eARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
