The Maple Sugar Inn had been her husband Brent's dream, not hers. Though she had her doubts, she went along, letting him make the decisions. Now he's gone, killed in a freak accident. Hattie is left to run the Inn and raise their young daughter on her own. As her last tie to Brent, she has tried to continue to run the Inn as he wanted it. Trying and frustrating as it is, she isn't willing to let it go.
The only people Hattie has to lean on are her neighbor Lynda and Lynda's son Noah, who have been there for her since Brent died. Until Erica, Claudia and Anna checked in to the Inn. The three women, friends for years, plan a meet up once a year, usually in the summer, but this year circumstances had them meeting at Christmas time. Hattie is immediately jealous of the close friendship the women share. Then Hattie finds herself unwittingly drawn into their circle. When trouble strikes the Inn in the form of an angry housekeeper and a temperamental chef, it's Erica, Claudia and Anna who step in to help out and present Hattie and her daughter with a special Christmas miracle.
I'm a sucker for a feel good Christmas story and this one fit the bill perfectly. Ms. Morgan's language paints the picture of an exhausted young mother struggling to create a life for her and her daughter. After Brent's accident, Hattie is afraid to let anyone in. Anna, Claudie, and especially Erica, don't give Hattie a choice. They force their way into her life. Through them, Hattie starts to gain the confidence to let go of the past, to stop trying to do what Brent thought was right and to do things her way. And along the way, she gains much more than confidence.
I read this story almost as an after thought. I'm glad I took the time. It's a great feel good story, perfect for the season. Sit down with a warm blanket, light a holiday scented candle, grab a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy a visit with Hattie and her new found girl group.

The Book Club Hotel is a great cozy holiday read about female friendship. It's such a great read for the holidays. I have to say this really surprised me. I didn't know what to except but I loved every second of it.
First thing I loved were the characters. You get to go in the lives of Anna, Claudia, Erica, and Hattie. Each woman is dealing with their own emotional baggage. I feel they each have something going on that whoever reads this book can relate to. Plus I think it's great to see how they come together and handle their situations. It was inspiring to see.
The second thing I loved was the multiple perspectives. This was so well done. You get four perspectives. I feel multiple perspective can be repetitive, however this one wasn't like it. You get insight on each women's problem. Plus you got to see what they were feeling as well. I thought this was such a nice touch from the story.
The third thing I loved about this book was the setting. Omg I would love to visit the Maple Sugar Inn. It sounds like such the perfect place to unwind and turn off your phone for a bit. Plus, the food at the hotel restaurant sounded incredible. There were a couple scenes where the food was talked about. It made me hungry. Also, they have a library were the girls were going to host their book club meeting. Plus there's a bookstore near the inn. I mean that's perfect! Go out and buy a new book then snuggle up in the library reading that new book. I've done the relaxing tropical vacation but never the relaxing snowy vacation. Now, I really want to.
Overall, I found this to be a great read. I can see myself buying this for my friend's that like to read. I can see them really enjoying this one. It's a great read for the holiday season. I've never read a book by Sarah Morgan but I plan to pick up another one. I did see someone mention that Sarah Morgan came out with a summer book earlier this year. The book is about Catherine Swift. Her book is the one the girl's read for their book club. I love the crossover. I can't wait to eventually pick it up.

Erica, Claudia, and Anna, devoted college friends, meet each year for a Book Club Reunion. This year it is at a charming country Inn in Vermont, owned by Hattie, a widow with a young daughter. As they become enamored wit the Inn and the friendly town, they begin to evaluate their lives, and what truly makes them happy. A small mystery is the reason this parting was chosen. Sit in front of your fire and cuddle up with this charming read .

Gilmore Girls meets a comeback story in this charming, perfect-for-winter book by Sarah Morgan.
With a backdrop of the swoon worthy Maple Sugar Inn, this charming book introduces characters you’d love to befriend. Innkeeper Hattie Coleman is trying to keep the inn - a shared dream with her late husband - afloat as she navigates life as a single mother with her precocious daughter and a kind, tight-knit community.
When Erica, Claudia and Anna select the Maple Sugar Inn as the destination for their annual book club retreat (and opportunity to catch up on their fast-evolving lives), they are thrust into Hattie’s world and the larger town around them as they work through their own griefs, big and small.
This was both a light-hearted and serious read about friends coming together, transformative resilience and, yes, delicious food descriptions.
Thank you to Canary Street Press for providing me an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this Christmas book! It’s a book lovers dream come true! Pick it up today and read with a cup of hot cocoa!

This was a sweet book about friendship and the way life changes as the years go by. I loved the setting and the relationship between Erica, Claudia, and Anna but I found all the talk of turning 40 to be annoying. As someone turning 40 in just a few months, I felt like these characters were having mid-life crises better suited for mid-life, like 50s or older. It became laughable how many times they mentioned how old they were and how they were 40 and life was basically over. I’d love to see novels focusing on each of the friends more in-depth, like Erica and Jack and Hattie and Luke.

This was a cozy Christmas story with all the characteristics we have come to expect from Sarah Morgan. The characters all have their issues to work through, and the end is satisfying. I loved that at least one of the characters was only partly solving a romantic issue, and was just as much solving a professional transition. I think in so many books women characters are focused on finding love while the rest of their life just magically happens. It was great that this book had several aspects of transition. Highly recommend.

This book was super cute! A fun quick read. I like the mystery aspect of it too in not knowing the full story behind Erica and trying to figure out her secrets. I desire to have friends like Claudia, Erica and Anna.

I adore this author and need to read more by her. This is a perfect festive read full of friendships, family, romance, teamwork, and books. All set in a beautiful hotel surrounded by snow. The story is told through each different character. Meet frienship trio Erica, Claudia, and Anna, who are reuniting for a book club holiday. Each are facing big things in their own lives, which becomes known throughout the story. We also see a lot of the Inn owner Hattie who soon becomes close to this trio but more so to one particular lady. An uplifting, festive, heartwarming read. One for your Christmas lists this year. A well-deserved four stars from me.

Life changes for hotel owner Hattie when lifelong friends Erica, Claudia, and Anna arrive for a book club holiday.
This was one of the nicest, sweetest friendship stories I've ever read! I loved everything about this book: the enduring friendships, the book club, the mystery (out of all the hotels they could have stayed at, why did Erica pick Hattie's?), the way the women supported one another, the humor, the romance, the empty nester syndrome, and the holiday setting. If you're looking for a light, but powerful, festive read, then this is it!
Location: Vermont
I received an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

If you’re into Hallmark flicks, epic Book Club shenanigans, and those super cool mystery-packed romantic getaways, this book is your vibe! Dive into the pages and get hooked on this story of friendship, family, and chasing your dreams.
Picture this: a second shot at life, love, and all the crazy stuff in between. This novel is like a burst of energy, with its awesome plot, cool setting, and characters you’ll totally want to grab a coffee with. It’s so good; I’m already planning a resort trip with my book club or just a solo vacation there. Trust me, your book club crew will be obsessed!
This story is an absolute blast - entertaining, heartwarming, and totally charming. Meet the widowed hotel owner, the book-loving trio, and the surprise sisters who find each other. The whole “found family” thing, the awesome friendships, sweet secondary characters, and the cozy winter wonderland of a small town – it’s all there! 📚✨
4 stars !

I really enjoyed following Erica, Anna, and Claudia as they stayed at the Maple Sugar Inn. They had been friends since college and tried to get away one week a year for their girl's book club.
It was so interesting to discover why Erica had chosen this inn and to meet the owner,Hattie and her daughter, Delphi. This was a beautiful story that focused on all the women, their lives, hopes, and insecurities as they faced life. I loved the idea of the book club hotel where friends go and stay at a hotel for a week's getaway, catch up with each other, and discuss a book. They also visited a bookstore. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

3.5 rounded up! I always really enjoy Sarah Morgan books, so this one was hard to rate for me. I ended up really liking it, but it had a pretty slow start for me, hence the slightly lower rating.
I found the story entertaining, heartwarming and charming. It was about a widowed owner of a hotel, three friends who bond over books and two sisters who didn't realize the other existed until later in life. I like the found family aspect, the friendships, the sweet secondary characters and the small town, winter wonderland.
The beginning just started off a little bit slow and I felt like it took a while to get into the heart of the story. There were also a number of characters and it took a while for me to get used to who was who. But once I got into the story, I ended up really liking it!

The Book Club Hotel is a heart-warming Christmas story set in a snowy boutique hotel in Vermont. Erica and her friends Anna and Claudia missed their annual book club meeting getaway, and Erica insist they go a week before Christmas. Anna and Claudia are suspicious of Erica's motives, but go along with the idea because they both love the idea of being at the hotel. Widowed far too young, Hattie feels overextended trying to run a boutique hotel the way her husband would have wanted her to, raise their daughter, and fight her attraction to her neighbor. When Erica and her friends check in to the hotel, they all three appear to have it all together. Hattie encounters some challenges, but she makes some decisions on her own and likes how she feels empowered. The women all have their own secrets and Hattie soon becomes close to them all in ways she would not have imagined. The Book Club Hotel is a charming, fast-paced holiday story that kept me engaged and curious about the secrets that are discovered.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for the opportunity to read the ARC of The Book Club Hotel.

This was such a feel good holiday read! Though there was some romance, the story was mainly about friendship and family, which I loved. I enjoyed all the characters--Hattie, Claudia, Erica and Anna. I absolutely wish the Maple Sugar Inn was real because I want to go there and sit in that library and read all day. Though a bit predictable, I didn't care because it was such a hug of a book!

Sarah Morgan has a ton of novels, so I was excited to read her newest release, The Book Club Hotel. I have also seen covers for this saying the title is The Christmas Book Club, so I am not sure if they are different based on country of release or just two names for the same novel in all countries. Either way, this story seemed like a fun holiday read and it delivered its promises. The story takes place in Vermont, which is an amazing location, especially for the holidays. Hattie and Brent Coleman decided to take the plunge and buy the Maple Sugar Inn. Unfortunately, Brent passes, and Hattie is left to run the inn and their five-year-old daughter, Delphie, alone.
Erica, Claudia, and Anna, who are lifelong friends, all live in different places, but are coming together for a book club holiday at the Maple Sugar Inn. With the addition of these three characters to Hattie’s story, there are four characters to follow. Each has their own journey along with the ties that bring them together. Friendship is a central theme of the novel, and it is done well. Hattie is running the Inn, dealing with grief, and raising Delphie. Anna is preparing to become an empty nester. Claudia lost her job as a chef and her long-term relationship ended. Erica is trying to figure out her relationship. There is a lot with the four characters, so some are a little more developed than others. It was still easy to connect with them, but it is difficult to have four balanced. The atmosphere of the novel adds a nice layer to the story, and I love how everything ties together. Overall, I enjoyed this novel a lot and cannot wait to read more from the author.

If you like Hallmark movies, Book Club adventures, and special get a way resorts, with a splash of mystery, and romance, you’ll find this novel intriguing. I had so much fun reading this story which centers around friendship, family, and what following your dream looks like.
The idea of being granted another chance at life, love, and everything in between is at the heart of the story. The novel, the setting, and the fun loving likable characters are well rounded. It made me want to go to this resort with my book club and/or go there on vacation. This is a fun escape and one your book club will adore.

Three friends check into the hotel for their annual book club holiday. Ver good book. It is told from three points of view.

This was a slow start but once I got into it, I found it heartwarming and endearing. Quick read and really enjoyable.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It had the typical emotions. Fun, laughter, romance, loss, and starting over. i just loved Delphi, i thought she was too cute. She was really smart and was really loved by her mother. I think this was the best book that Sarah Morgan has written so far this year. I am grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
