This is one of the best new Rom-Coms I've had the pleasure to read. I read this in one sitting and could not stop!! This was absolutely perfect. I loved every word of it.

Sophie is a research scientist and things go awry when Davy visits her lab and accidentally walks away with part of her research. She’s gotta get it back so she chases him down. Davy is quite the character- he’s living on a private island that he is turning into a wildlife refuge to house a clawless rescue cougar named Baby. He suffers from social anxiety and panic attacks so he’s also trying to be a hermit. You just love his odd, vulnerable- but sexy- hot self as the two negotiate some flirting. Sophie is ultra focused and also doesn’t know how to interact with people- especially men who are flirting with her. But Davy describes her as alive, snappish and vibrant, but also as vulnerable as Davy.

Very sweet and steamy. Lush and descriptive. I could see it all in my mind's eye like a movie. Likeable, relatable characters, one a PhD student who is devoted but miserable, and one a people-pleaser who finds refuge in living alone on a private island. A page-turner romance about falling fast and letting go of the sunk cost fallacy and choosing happiness.

This book was great!!! So fun, can't wait to read more from Opal Wei! And I am excited to see the cover
