Overall I really liked this one, I read it all in one sitting! The chemistry between the characters was great, the storyline was exciting. The family feel, the cowboys, the setting all good. I can't wait to read more of the series.
An entertaining and spicy contemporary romance with a strong sense of place. I am now a fan of Jennifer Ryan and look forward to reading other titles in the DARK HORSE DIVE BAR series. TW: this book contains a plot element regarding a stalker as well as domestic violence. NOTE: I received a digital ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This was a good adult romance, that I would recommend to those who think it sounds interesting!
I received an e-ARC from the publisher
I love Jennifer Ryan, Periodt. (Not a typo)
I have been waiting for this story and it didn’t disappoint It’s a new series, but it ties to older stories so the characters are familiar. Lyric is such a good well-rounded, female, protagonist and Viper is just that bad boy alpha that you can’t help but be attracted to. Overall, this book was a bit predictable, but at the same time that never detracted from the general enjoyment of the story. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the first book in a new series – and I am definitely adding this to my look out for list, because I really enjoyed it! There is a good amount of world building, which has ensured that I need to know what happens to the rest of the Wilde siblings!
As the reader, we know pretty much immediately what Viper is, so the tension is lessened in one way and seriously heightened in another – which is a really effective tactic in this novel as the plot unfolds. I love how we get to understand the depths of frustration and psychological damage that Mason's role has on him, and we also get to see his desires for a new and fulfilled life.
Lyric is a talented songstress, but her life is with her family, and that suits her just fine. She enjoys cooking up a storm in the kitchen of the family bar, and then indulges her love of singing on the stage there too. She has such chemistry with Viper, but he is a man who holds himself back. She is more than grateful when he intercedes with an overly familiar (obsessed) fan. Rick is really the kind of character that you both love to hate and also pity – he is a stark reminder of how someone can spin a whole new reality in their head and how they damage their target.
I really enjoyed getting to know everyone and am looking forward to the next installment already.

Lyric and Mason/Viper have amazing chemistry together. I love how she trusts him even though she knows he's not telling her everything. Great story. Can't wait to read the rest of her siblings HEAs.
Wilde Love is the first volume of Jennifer Ryan’s A Dark Horse Dive Bar novels, stories about another branch of the Wyoming Wildes in Blackrock Falls. This story revolves around Lyric Wilde, well known songwriter, bar owner, and chef. Lyric was introduced before when she played a big role in Surrendering to Hunt, the second book of the Wyoming Wilde’s series, as did her mysterious biker love interest Viper.
After disappearing for weeks, Viper is now back taking his perch at the end of the bar and watching the crowd. He is also showing his presence at the motorcycle club and putting on the construction worker front. But what is he really all about?
As the story unfolds, a man who identifies himself as Rick Rowe who had briefly met Lyric when she last played in Nashville, first surprises her, then imposes himself on her, heading into stalking. As she tries to be kind, it would seem that Rick only feeds off it and is imagining his own story.
When the mystery of what Viper is working on and the drama surrounding Lyric and her “fan” collide, the story takes on new depth and meaning. With an intriguing plot and many twists plus a well told love story, this is definitely a very good beginning to a new series. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!
This is a good book. The two main characters are Lyric and Mason. They meet in the bar that Lyric’s family owns. Mason is an undercover FBI agent. He is undercover in a bikers group. He can’t give Lyric any information about him or the case he is working on. They each have their own issues but together they work them out and fall in love.
Summary:
Lyric Wilde is a songwriter who chose the life of a small town bar owner. She owns Dark Horse Dive Bar with her family. She is intrigued by regular patron Viper. She travels periodically to Nashville to write songs but wants to be with her family.
Viper is Undercover FBI Special Agent Mason Gunn. He regularly goes to Dark Horse Dive Bar so he can see Lyric. He is intrigued by her and wants to try a relationship but because of his job she only knows him a Viper, a member of the local biker gang.
My Thoughts:
I have been intrigues with Lyric and Viper since I read the Wyoming Wilde Series. I was glad they got their own book. Jennifer Ryan's story telling once again captivated me. This is roughly the tenth book by her I have read.
The chemistry between Lyric and Viper was hot and heavy. It has been building since the Wyoming Wilde Series. I liked how Lyric's passions, songwriter and running the bar, was a big part of the storyline as well as Mason's work as an FBI agent. Ryan made both a big part of the story without one appearing more important.
I can't wait to read book 2 in the Dark Horse Dive Bar series, Wilde For You.
I couldn’t put this book down. It has very relatable characters who are each strong people in their own way. Lyric has been waiting for the mysterious guy to really talk to her. She knows he is not what he seems but she can’t figure out what he is. She does know that her gut tells her he will be worth it. Mason is really tired of his job and the way he is having to live. He wants something he can’t have until this job is done. Will he be able to wait that long or will he go after Lyric and what he wants? I was given a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Jennifer Ryan has an uncanny ability to write stories that go to the heart of human nature. She unpeels the character so that you understand what and why the events happen in the book. Lyric and Viper has a simmering relationship that rose to a steamy affair. Lyric has cared for Viper for quite a while but he didn't seem to react to her attention in the right way. Viper had a job to do but tried to protect Lyric as much as he could without blowing his masks. But love sometimes happen and you can't do anything about it but act. I enjoyed how the case was solved and Viper could not abandon his feelings. I give this book a thumbs up review.
Wow! I was not expecting to love this as much as I did. I was invested in this from the first place. The plot was new and shocking. It was warm and engaging. I just can't say enough good things about this one.
The chemistry in this book is off the charts! Lyric and Mason are spitfires together. Lyric is a character who is self-assure, and Mason protective both because of his job and because of who he is. I love the setting and will be looking out for the rest of the series.
I love the chemistry between Lyric and Viper. Lyric has a stalker and Viper is trying to keep her safe plus do the job he was sent to do, working on a MC case. Fast read, with enough romance and suspense without one over shadowing the other. A very satisfying read.
Jennifer Ryan is one of my go-to authors when it comes to swoony romance perfectly blended with twisty suspense and her newest book, Wilde Love is a great example of why her books keep me reading way past my bedtime. I couldn't put this one down.
There's so much chemistry between Viper (Mason) and Lyric and a soul-deep connection that only gets stronger the more time they spend together. He's such a good guy even though he looks like a bad guy. I love his sense of honor, his protective nature, his determination to keep Lyric safe and separate from the dangers of his work. And I love that while others take one look at him and make judgments based on appearance, Lyric takes the time to look beneath the surface. She instinctively knows that there's more to this man who keeps secrets, who won't even tell her his real name, and she's willing to wait until he can.
Lyric is the kind of character I want to be friends with. She has a great relationship with her family, is caring and kind (sometimes a little too kind), a magician in the kitchen, and always ready to step in and help someone in need, even if it puts her in the line of fire. I was cheering her on every step of the way. She and Mason together make me smile. I love how she gives him the support, trust, and space he needs as someone who is dealing with the effects of too many years undercover. She brings light into the darkness of that life, changing his life for the better even as he brings trust, respect, and a deep well of love into hers. And kudos to an author who treats mental health therapy as a natural, accepted avenue to travel. It's an aspect of Ryan's books that I've always appreciated.
There's great family dynamics in this book too, both in Mason's and Lyric's. I loved the sibling relationships within Lyric's family and the rowdy but heartfelt relationships among the all-male siblings and cousins on Mason's side. I especially enjoyed the bonus of watching Lyric interact with Mason's cousins, one in particular. That man has hidden layers and what I expect is more than a little emotional baggage. I do hope we'll be seeing more of him - and the rest of them - in future books.

WILDE LOVE A Dark Horse Dive Bar Book 1 by Jennifer Ryan
This is the very satisfying start of Ms. Ryan's new series. Agent Mason is deep under cover as Viper and has been for quite some time. Lyric is the owner/head cook/singer/songwriter of the Dark Horse Dive Bar. Viper has been coming to the Dark Horse and is very interested in Lyric, and she is very attracted to him as well. These two have insane chemistry. This story has plenty of romantic suspense, danger, an engaging story line, wonderfully supporting characters in their families. I very much enjoyed this story.
This is 5 stars.
I enjoyed reading this small town story filled with suspense, intrigue and romance. I also enjoyed all the entertaining characters included in the story. I thought the two main characters, Lyric and Viper were good together and they shared a lot of chemistry.
Lyric and Viper meet under unusual circumstances and slowly fall in love.
There are people who try to interfere in their lives, but in the end, good overcomes evil.
Viper is rough on the outside but inside he is caring and loving. When Lyric meets Viper, she sees something in him that others don’t and she instinctively knows she can trust him. The way Viper treats Lyric melted my heart and I loved that he is willing to do anything to keep her safe.
When Lyric’s simple life is turned upside down, she learns the only one she can depend on is Viper. Viper and Lyric are good together and good for each other, but there are so many things going on around them and so much they have to get through, before they can be together. I was rooting for them the entire time and hoping everything would work out for them.
This was a great read. The first in the series. It had suspense, danger, yep, and romance, interwoven so well the book just flowed! I'd also like to go to the Dark Horse Dive Bar, it is a fascinating place—lots of heat between Viper - tall, dark, mysterious and Lyric, not so mysterious but fairly fiesty. The music was great :). Well, if I could have stopped by and listed in.....
This is going to be a great series, lots of good things coming from the Dark Horse Dive Bar.
Thanks to Avon and Netgalley for the advanced reader's copy. All opinions are mine alone.
Any time Jennifer Ryan releases a book, I am on it! And this one was no different. This is the first in a new series by Jennifer, Dark Horse Dive Bar, and it has absolutely left me wanting more! I'm not usually a fan of any of the lead characters being bikers but leave it to Jennifer Ryan to have me not only going for it anyway, but loving it. Viper had such a tough guy exterior but was the most loving character who so genuinely cared for Lyric. I also love that he is so much more than a biker. He has a lot going on under the surface and under his cover story.
Lyric was so sweet and she broke my heart with how scared she truly was. Her songs were written right from her heart and soul and to have someone target her for that is unimaginable. But she finds herself with a stalker who wants to write music with her and seems to think the two of them have a relationship. Lyric tries to handle things on her own at first, but it isn't long before Mason, aka Viper, enters the scene and isn't willing to let her face this battle on her own.
This was such an adventure from start to finish and is absolutely going on my shelf of books to be read over and over again. It can join all of Jennifer Ryan's past books there. I strongly recommend this book and I can't wait for the next one in the series to hit the shelves!
I can already tell I’m going to love this new series. We get twists and turns with this one, we have an FBI agent undercover at the local MC, we have a stalker for Lyric that brings a lot of drama. M can’t say much but wants to be with Lyric and she just trusts her gut. These two have chemistry and love. They work though the undercover part so well and as the bad. I couldn’t put this one down. Lyric’s song is also so sweet- we do get some good steam with this one!
Ryan set this one up so well with the families, setting of the bar and ranch, and small town WY. At the end we also get even more with Mason’s family - brother and cousins! This might be my favorite Ryan book so far! Can’t wait to see Hawk and Nick get their HEA!
