Wilde Love is the first book in the new series by Jennifer Ryan, 'Dark Horse Dive Bar'. This series is a spin off to Ryan's 'Wyoming Wilde' series and follows Chase, Hunt, and Max's cousins. In the original series, we were introduced to the big hearted Lyric, a song writer who co-owns the Dark Horse Dive with her brother and sisters, as well as Viper, a sexy motorcycle riding biker who is a member in the Wild Wolves MC. Viper keeps things close to his vest. Lyric sees that there is more to Viper than he portrays but she understands that there is more to him than meets the eye. When an obsessed fan follows Lyric home from a gig she performed in Nashville on New Year's Eve, Viper steps up to help keep her safe.
For most of the story, Ryan keeps Viper's true purpose a secret, it is what makes him so sexy and mysterious. Saying Lyric has a big heart is an understatement. Her willingness to step in and help those in need makes her incredibly lovable. She is truly beautiful inside and out. With all of Viper's secrets, a lesser person would have given up on him long ago but Lyric understood that Viper had a purpose and stood by him until the end. I fell deeply in love with both Lyric and Viper. Wilde Love is a fast paced read, with lots of action and incredibly steamy romance. Read it in one sitting and I whole heartedly recommend!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jennifer Ryan brings us the story of Lyric, a singer/songwriter and chef at the Dark Horse Dive Bar. She has her sights set on the mysterious Viper, keeper of secrets. When a fan follows her home and sets off her danger radar, her family and friends come to the rescue. Lyric and Viper must work on their present situations before being able to finally start their life together. Will Lyric be able to shake off her ardent fan and will Viper be able to put his life in order to start anew with Lyric? Will all the secrecy and sneaking around be too much for Lyric as she waits for him, or will she be able to trust in everything she feels for him?
Jennifer Ryan brings us the story of two very unlikely people who find out that opposites do really attract. Their story shows us the power of family, friends, and love.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon for this privilege.
FBI agent Mason is undercover as Viper, a shady but gorgeous hunk of a motorcycle dude. He’s trying to take down the local MC but is falling in love with Lyric, the town’s budding singer/songwriter. She’s getting national attention for her songwriting and it looks like she may have a stalker. Viper can’t take the guy out because 1. They have no real evidence and 2. He’ll out himself as undercover FBI. And Viper is getting pretty close to brining the bad guy down. As the tension grows over the FBI case and the maybe-stalker case the romantic tension burgeons as Viper and Lyric can’t stay away from each other. Still, they also can’t let anyone know they are together. Things are hot and their relationship is getting hotter.
Viper is noble and true and very protective. He’s trying to negotiate his job’s need for secrecy and his personal need to be honest with Lyric.
Lyric is a real caretaker. She watches out for the while town along with family and now Viper.
I found it a bit hard to take that nobody treated the stalker situation more seriously. Suspension of disbelief, important plot device and all, I still thought they were all stupid not to see the danger signs. The FBI subplot was nicely done, though.
Although there is tie-in to her other books this can easily be read as standalone. It has a lot going for it: it’s a Western, a thriller and a love story. Some explicit sex. I wasn’t excited about the writing there. But maybe that was just me and the mood I was in while reading it. I’d like to see what others write about that.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
I was expecting something a little different. This romance was super fast fast and sort of came all of a sudden. It was also a syrupy sweet type of relationship with a twist of drama. The suspense in this story was pretty good but the end seemed to drag a little once everything was resolved. I will definitely read this author again because I have enjoyed her work before. I can give this book a solid 2.6 stars
"Wilde Love" is the first book in Jennifer Ryan's new "Dark Horse Dive Bar" series. This was the first book I've read by Jennifer Ryan, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This book centers around Lyric, a singer-songwriter who works at the local bar in her small country town. She' meets "Viper", an undercover FBI agent whose real name is Mason. While there's an instant attraction between them, Mason is keeping her at arm's length due to his dangerous job. But when an unexpected music fan shows up to stalk Lyric and begins causing problems, Mason can't keep his distance anymore.
I thought this was a quick, easy read. There was romance and mystery in this novel, but sometimes I felt a little lost because there were so many characters. Overall, I thought it was a cute book. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
I absolutely loved Wilde Love by Jennifer Ryan. Wilde Love begins a new series that is set in a small town in Wyoming, Lyric is a songwriter and bar owner in her home town. Viper is an FBI agent deeply under cover in the local MC. They both feel drawn to each other when they meet, but Viper can't pursue anything until his case is closed because it could endanger Lyric and him. They are also dealing with a possible stalker situation with one of Lyric's "fans". This book hooked me and kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole book. There were a couple of times I had to walk away from the book to get my nerves back under control.
I also was very happy that once the case wraps up the book doesn't end abruptly. We get several more chapters that take us past the drama to the real HEA. Loved that. Excellent book. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series. I'm hoping it is Hawke, but would be happy with Nick's story too! Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyage for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the first book in a new series. Mason (Viper) is an undercover FBI agent in an MC. He frequents a bar in which Lyric is the chef/singer. Her family owns the Dark Horse Dive Bar. She is a songwriter, and has a pretty big fan base. One fan has become a stalker and inserts himself into her life. Luckily she has an amazing family and Mason to help her. It is pretty predictable. Lyric is kept in the dark about Viper being undercover-but she believes in him and trusts him. I look forward to the next story-wondering who it will about. This takes place in Wyoming. 3.5 stars I think most romance readers would enjoy this romantic suspense.
This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Dark Horse Dive Bar series. This book is all about a FBI Agent who is undercover with a MC, and he falls in love with the owner of the Dark Horse Dive Bar. I love the connection the two main characters have, and they made me fall in love with them. The characters in this book really grow on me. I loved the suspense in this book. This book has some dark stuff, but it does not get as dark as some MC books get. There are some steamy times in this book, but it is not super steamy. I loved the mix of romance and suspense in this book. I did not like the beginning I felt there was a ton of stuff dumped on us right at the beginning, but the more you read you slowly figured out what was going on. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Avon) or author (Jennifer Ryan) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is scheduled to be released on September 26-2023.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
Wilde Love was a fun, fast-paced, gripping read that immediately had me hooked! This was my first Jennifer Ryan book and I could tell that there were characters who must have been introduced in other books, but I didn't have any problem at all following the story.
I always love when romance books have the added component of some sort of mystery or action plot. I think it really adds to the pacing and overall storyline of the book. The addition of Lyric's stalker and the nefarious activities in the motorcycle club really make this book a page turner.
I also loved the cast of characters in this. Jennifer Ryan did a great job adding in side characters and giving them life and personality that makes you feel invested. I will definitely be checking out more books in this series to see what these characters are up to!
One thing that took me out of the book a little bit was some of the dialogue choices. There were a couple of times where dialogue between two of the characters would make me stop in my tracks because it didn't feel like a natural conversation.
Overall, this was a quick and cute read! If the synopsis interests you at all, you should check it out!
I received an advanced reader's copy of Wilde Love by Jennifer Ryan from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Overall, I quite enjoyed this novel and it made for a quick, easy read. The main characters - Lyric and Mason - were an interesting match. Their chemistry was hot, the banter was engaging, and the action moved along. All in all, this novel was well written and the plot was engaging and entertaining.
Loved this book! This is the beginning of a new series set in a small town Wyoming bar, but that still includes many characters from a prior series set in the same region. Lyric is a songwriter that also cooks in her family's bar. Mason is an FBI agent entrenched in the local MC. When they meet, they are immediately smitten, but Mason can't do anything until he finishes his case - not even tell Lyric who he really is. While they struggle with this, a potential stalker follows her home trying to force himself into her life.
This novel is quickly moving, with lots of twists and turns - it grabbed me from the very first page and kept me hooked until the very last page. This is a must read for fans of the genre. The author is on my must read authors' list.
This was an excellent story. Lyric was a singer/songwriter who sometimes went to Nashville to write with her partner, but really liked to live closer to home where she owned a bar/restaurant. Mason/Viper kept coming in giving her looks but never acted on it. Rick was someone that followed Lyric on line and figured that she would write with him and be with him. He was quite delusional. Viper was really an FBI agent that was undercover with a MC club but he couldn't tell her. Lots of drama, injuries, and romance. Each chapter brought something new. It was a good read
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review
4.5 stars! This story between Lyric and M was very enjoyable. After seeing each other in the bar where Lyric works for a long time Lyric and M have an instant attraction and fascination with each other despite barely speaking to each other. It gets complicated because Lyric has an obsessed fan wanting her attention, and Mason is an undercover FBI agent who can't tell her who he really is until his case is solved. I liked how open and honest their communication was despite the secrets. There was full trust between them which is rare to see. I did think there were times when Lyric was a bit dumb about how she went about things but at the same time she had a heart of gold. The start of this book made me wish I read the previous series by this author. While this is a standalone, I looked back and noticed a lot of people mentioned where in her previous series. This book also starts with Lyric and Mason knowing one another and I am curious as to what their interactions were in the previous books. That being said I will most definitely be going back and reading Jennifer Ryan's backlog of books. I also can't wait to read more in this series. I want to see all of their siblings get their happy ending. Potentially Aria and Nick! I also need a story about Hawk!!
Thanks to Jennifer Ryan, Avon and Harper Voyager, and Netgalley for the free eARC in exchange for an honest review!
I received this ARC from Netgalley and the publishers in exchange for an honest review. This is the first in the “Dark Horse Dive Bar” series. For the most part, I have really enjoyed reading Ryan’s books on the Wilde family. This is her latest, and it was excellent and quick to read. I found it very easy to get involved with the Wilde family. Lyric Wilde runs and owns the Dark Horse Dive Bar with her family. Not only does she cook, but she is also the bartender. Lyrics also has another job as a singer and songwriter. She has many online followers and meets twice a year with her partner to write songs for other singers or bands. She has one fan that she would love to get to know better: Viper, a tattooed and tough biker who is considered a bad boy. Lyric really has feelings for him that won’t go away. What she doesn’t know is that Viper is an undercover FBI special agent and is tracking down a drug smuggling and hitmen team of bikers working through the club that Viper belongs to. Viper also has feelings for Lyric but must wait until his job is finished before showing her he cares. If he acknowledges his feelings and tells Lyric, she could be in danger because of him. But when Lyric’s life is threatened, Viper tries to find out who is stalking her. Find out what happens with Viper’s case; can he save Lyric’s life? Do they get their happy-ever-after ending?
