I received an ARC of this cookbook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great cookbook. It's full of recipes that I am very excited to try.
Ashley Craft has done another great Disney cookbook - what a fun way to relive Disney memories! There is a great variety and a balance between Disney World and Disneyland restaurants. I can't wait to try to recreate some of our favorite dishes.
Anyone who has spent time in Disney parks and enjoyed the food at the restaurants inside will be excited to pick up a copy of The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook: From Cafe Orleans's Battered & Fried Monte Cristo to Hollywood & Vine's Caramel Monkey Bread, 100 ... Dining Destinations, Ashley Craft’s second unofficial cookbook with recipes for the yummy dishes we have enjoyed and want to make at home.
This fun cookbook includes dozens of recipes that even those who haven’t visited Disney parks will actually want to make. The recipes are presented in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions. The recipes can easily be made by both beginning and advanced cooks. There are helpful comments at the beginning of each recipe, as well as the restaurants in the Disney park where each of the dishes is served. There are beautiful photographs of some of the recipes, but it would certainly be better if all of them were pictured. It would be nice to know what each dish should look like when finished.
All told, however, the recipes are for yummy dishes that many have enjoyed, and they can easily be made at home. Of course, eating them at home doesn’t quite capture the atmosphere of actually being at the park, but no one will complain about eating something good and fun to remind them of a fun Disney trip.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
Some interesting and worthy recipes but on the whole not the best Disney / Disney Parks cookbook.
The desserts are probably the best part of this, or maybe the cocktails, which don’t interest me personally but do seem worthy of including. The savory recipes are too focused on cheaper park restaurants, resulting in a lot of pages devoted to what is essentially chain restaurant food. Mozzarella sticks and an iceberg lettuce salad? Really?
And as always, I’m never going to be thrilled with a cookbook of this sort that doesn’t show a photo of every recipe. Charge more for the book if you must, but the photos are part of the fun and in some cases entirely necessary to whether I would consider the recipe worth trying.
Despite the above, there are plenty of fun and worthy recipes included, and that makes the book worth acquiring despite its flaws. I think it would be particularly good for those with limited experience in the kitchen, as most recipes aren’t terribly difficult to execute.
“The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook” is my third adventure exploring the food and drinks of the Disney parks here in the US with Ashley Craft. And once again, through no fault of Ms. Craft, I received this book a couple of months after my latest Disney trip, which just makes me look forward to the next trip!
This time Ms. Craft focuses on the park/resort restaurants and some of their signature dishes. It should be noted that these are from the restaurants, if you are looking for some of the classic snacks (hello Dole Whip!) you need to find the earlier “The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook”.
The book follows the format of the previous volumes: an introduction, a brief discussion of equipment needed (nothing too fancy or outrageous), and finally the recipes, organized by meal (starting with breakfast), and then by course from appetizers to main dishes to desserts and drinks. The handy maps at the end show the location where the originals can be found in the parks.
As in the previous two guides, the recipes range from the too simple (the warm glazed doughnut recipe has glazed doughnuts as one of the ingredients!) to the complex (Monte Cristos, beef tenderloin, orange chicken, and more). A great assortment, plus some more drinks that didn’t make it into “The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book”!
Another fun addition to the cookbook shelf, a great memory of family vacations to bring out in the middle of a cold winter day.
I requested and received a free advanced electronic copy from Adams Media via NetGalley. Thank you!
While I have not tried EVERY recipe in this book, I can tell you that the ones I have are so very easy and the results are definitely what I have been served in the Disney Parks, and I didn't have to plan a special trip to get them. So while I continue to work my way through the rest of these delicious recipes, you should grab a copy of your own and start your own kitchen into your favorite Parks treats.
The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook was a fun read. I think it would be exceptionally fun for annual Disney visitors or Disney fans. Each recipe comes with a short story and/or how it should be prepped which is helpful, however, this cookbook lacks of photos. The book covers from appetizers, snacks, main dishes to desserts and drinks, and tells you which part of Disney you can find the food from.
It was a first Disney series cookbook for me -- while it was enjoyable to read through, I'm not 100 percent sure if I'll be giving this cookbook to friends and family for this Christmas unless they are a serious fan of Disney.
The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook features well-known dishes and drinks from the Walt Disney World and Disneyland properties. WIth photos and simple-to-follow recipes, this book is a great way to bring some of the magic back home.
Who wouldn’t want to bring a bit of Disney into their own homes? With this recipe book, you can cook up the most popular delicious, and whimsical treats found at Disney’s main restaurants. With everything from breakfast and lunch, to dessert and drinks, there’s something for everyone. I love the mini intro for each recipe idea, and the maps of the parks at the back. The goldmine brownies looks sound amazing, and the famous Mickey Mouse pancakes are super cute. A fabulous range of recipes, with clear to follow instructions.
Would definitely recommend. Thank you to Adams Media and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.
Thanks to Netgalley and Adams Media for access to this Arc in exchange for my honest review.
I've never been to Disneyland/world and this book made me travel along. I really loved the stories along with the recipes !! From drinks to breakfast, main fishes, desserts, this book has it all ! If you're on diet, stay away 🤣.
I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I was excited to see an air fryer listed as kitchen equipment to have on hand. That was a short live excitement. When I read the recipes, all of the fry recipes were set up the usual way with using oil. There was no mention of how to convert these recipes with using an air fryer, and that was disappointing. I'd like to see something like "Air fry at 400 for minutes and shake basket or turn halfway through."
More photos would be appreciated.
Now onto the positives: This cookbook has a nice variety and selection of recipes. It includes some information about the Disney restaurants where these recipes are from, and that can be helpful for those who have not visited the parks yet. They recipes seem to be easy to follow. Although I was disappointed about the lack of air fryer information and quantity of photos, it's still a solid Disney themed cookbook.
Book Review: The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook
The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook by Ashley Craft is a delightful culinary journey that brings the magic of Disney’s restaurants straight to your kitchen. With over 100 recipes inspired by the hottest restaurants at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, this cookbook allows you to recreate popular restaurant favorites right in the comfort of your own home.
The book begins with a brief introduction, setting the stage for the culinary adventure that awaits. Craft explains that this cookbook is perfect for both Disney experts who miss the familiar flavors in between trips and fans who have never visited the parks but still want to experience the full restaurant ambiance. This inclusive approach ensures that anyone can dive into the world of Disney cuisine, regardless of their level of familiarity with the theme parks.

This additional context allows readers to feel more connected to the Disney dining experience and enhances their overall enjoyment of the recipes.
As for my personal thoughts on the book, I must confess that I am guilty of spending far too much time on TikTok watching people devour their way around Disney parks. When I came across The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook, I knew it was a perfect fit for me. And indeed, it did not disappoint.
The cookbook is beautifully designed, with colorful pages and a well-organized layout that makes it easy to find and follow recipes. The instructions are clear and concise, ensuring that even inexperienced cooks can achieve excellent results. Additionally, the inclusion of mouthwatering photos adds an extra layer of excitement and anticipation.
While I have not yet had the opportunity to try all the recipes in this book, I am eager to embark on this culinary adventure. The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook has ignited my passion for recreating the flavors of the Disney parks at home, and I cannot wait to indulge in dishes such as Tiffins Signature Bread Service or Satu’li Canteen’s Chocolate Cake.
In conclusion, The Unofficial Disney Parks Restaurants Cookbook by Ashley Craft is a must-have for Disney enthusiasts and food lovers alike. With its wide variety of recipes, easy-to-follow instructions, and enticing visuals, this cookbook captures the essence of Disney dining and brings it into your own kitchen. As a Disney lover and Disney adult who can't go to the parks all the time, I love being able to bring it home. Disney food is a whole new level of happiness right in my own home
This book has a good variety of recipes from the Disney parks! I liked that it included entrees, desserts, and even drinks.
There were a few things that I would have helped me like it even more. There are several images of the final product for many of the recipes, but I would have like that for most recipes. Disney is colorful, why not make sure the cookbook matches that. Adding some recipes from parks outside the US may have added some flair too for people that may never be able to get to those locations. Plus where was the Dole Whip and Beignets, those were sadly missed!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.
Fun book if you love Disney parks and the foot you get there. I enjoyed seeing how some of the most enjoyable foods are made and a story about where they are on the parks.
This is such a fun cookbook! It made me want to go to Disney so bad. I can instead make some fun Disney treats for myself. I cannot wait to try everything out in this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Adams Media for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
I'm so excited that Ashley Craft has written another Disney cookbook! This cookbook is so easy to navigate as it's divided into the following categories: breakfast, lunch, appetizers and snacks, main dishes, desserts, and drinks. Ashley Craft did not disappoint! These recipes are so delicious. I have tried four of the recipes so far and absolutely loved each one. So far I've made Slow Roasted Ham, Swiss, and Egg Croissants, Mustafarian Lava Rolls, Plaza Inn Specialty Chicken, and Lightyear Lemonade. I will definitely make these again and can't wait to try out more of these delicious sounding recipes. I hope to see more cookbooks from Ashley Craft in the future!
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and Edelweiss+. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I was so happy to get this book because I am a huge Disney fan! I felt this book was very well thought out! It seemed like they had things from all different areas! I loved the back stories as well! Definitely a must buy!!
I love The Unofficial Disney Cookbooks. This ARC had me very excited! I was very happy to see the addition of pictures, as you eat with your eyes first. Next time I would like to see even more. The BBQ chicken salad from Flame Tree Barbeque is delicious! Some recipes seem a bit too easy, like the "Warm Glazed Donut" or the "Candied Bacon". And think drinks-so satisfying. Hurricane and Yub Nub especially.
Overall, I think it's a fun book for even beginner skill levels. Looking forward to what Ashley has in store next.
This series of unofficial books has been fantastic - from the snacks to the drinks. In this third installment, we get the fine dining recipes from the US Disney Parks - signature dinning sit-down restaurant items. Unlike the first book (mostly of snack cart and quick service fares) and the second book of drinks, these meals are much easier to make/prepare and require less exotic ingredients or tools. Most of the recipes are very easy to whip up and give you that taste of the park you loved so much.
The book is broken down by type of recipe: breakfast, lunch, appetizers and snacks, main dishes, desserts, drinks. All recipes are cross referenced for the origin restaurant and there is a large map in the back telling you where to find the meal in the park. Newer restaurants such as Space 220 and Pym's Test Kitchen are included. Some quick service restaurants are there as well: e.g., Satu'li canteen. The only missing restaurants are resort specific such as the Galactic Starcruiser or Napa Rose (Grand Californian hotel).
Recipes include: Mustafarian lava rolls, ever-expanding cina-Pym toast, totchos, lobster bisque, Tiffins signature bread service, fried pickles, Plaza Inn specialty chicken, Ka-cheeseburger, Felucian kefta and hummus garden spread, St. Louis rib dinners, Wookie cookies, hazelnut cunchy Mickey pops, fichwa maji, yub nub, happy haunts milk shake, proton bunch, and many more.
Each recipe has a title, the restaurant/park location, and a brief introduction paragraph. No nutrition information is given, only serving size. The typeface is large and easy to read. Steps are numbered in short paragraph form. Ingredients are in bold on the left of the page. There are a few images of the recipes and, of course, there is always that missing 'magic' of actually being in the park to eat the food. I would have appreciated more photographs so I could see the recipe in completed form.
At the back of the book is a set of maps, index, and metric conversions. You may not have the ambiance of Tiki birds at the Tropical Hideaway in Disneyland or vintage movie projections from the sci fi diner in Hollywood Studios: but you also don't have to eat on top trashcans when no seats/tables can be found, battle off birds at Flame Tree BBQ, or smell chlorine at Blue Bayou. In all, another great book! Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
