My fellow readers. I liked the book. The thrill of the suspense was very exciting for me. The villain or shall I say killer was truly excellent. His character was written wonderfully for this particular story.
Is it odd that I found a very distinct dialogue voice for him while reading this book? I believe that it was his character and Adam who unequivocally moved this story. They caught me hook line and sinker. I was very delighted. The only thing that I must comment on is that the book did move a little slow.
I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!
This was such a fantastic read , didn’t want to leave it down, so well written and such an intriguing psychological thriller I wanted to get to the end which kept you guessing right to the end . The story unfolded leaving you shocked and wanting more at the end of each chapter with brilliant characters and a great story line. Would really highly recommend this book as a must read .
With its spine-tingling atmosphere and shocking revelations, this suspenseful narrative ensures you'll be captivated from the first page to the last.
I enjoyed this detective story. While you never have to wonder the whodunnit (the story is told from two pov’s), it’s more on the how they will resolve this. It’s a game of cat and mouse and you get both the cat and mouse point of view.
I really loved this book, by one of my favourite authors.
As always it was a brilliant read, full of twists and turns.
I found it a creepy, yet compelling read.
The characters were easy to connect with and pacing the story and keeping the reader gripped.
I highly recommend this book and also the author is one of the best around
I was intrigued my this title and description but this one fell flat for me. I didn't like the writing or the plot itself really, it started to fall apart for me unfortunately so I DNF'd at 44%.
YOUR COLD EYES by Denver Murphy is a dark, twisty and twisted novel about the hunt for a serial killer in Milton Keyes.
When DCI Adam Trent is partnered up with newby, DC Lu Sabbatini, to track down a local serial killer, he’s none too happy. But this pairing goes together like wine and cheese. As they both bring different perspectives and ideas to the hunt they are able to add up the pieces to complete the puzzle.
I loved their powers of deduction and the interplay between male and female ideas. Although brief, I also enjoyed their banter. This was a quick read that I really enjoyed getting lost in, and even though it wasn’t a big whodunnit, it was interesting to go along on their hunt. Although this is my first Denver Murphy mystery, it won’t be my last. I can’t wait to see where this author takes me next.
Decent book with a story that has been done before. I generally like a big plot twist at the end, but this didn’t quite keep me guessing the whole way through. Enjoyable, quick read.
Bodies of women are found, cruelly killed and callously discarded around the city of Milton Keynes. Detectives Adam Trent and Lucrezia Sabbatini of the Major Crimes Unit don’t know what to make of it.
Initially when I started this book I was not sure how I was going to feel about it, I had not heard of the author and was wondering if this was going to turn out be an enjoyable afternoon reading this book, I was initially drawn in by the cover. Fortunately, I was taken in right with the quality of writing from the beginning and that feeling was still there as I read the last page.
This is a difficult case for Trent and Sabbatini from the Major Crimes Unit. Firstly I felt that these two made a great team, they had not worked together before and I feel that Denver Murphy did an excellent job of realistically developing the relationship between them at this early stage (hoping they will feature in future books). After another victim goes missing, these two are not sure what they are actually up against but they both know they need to act fast or more women will die. This killer is not leaving a lot of clues and the whole team is under the pump trying to find anything to go on. Meanwhile our killer has free reign to conjure up more of his sick fantasies.
I will definitely be looking out for more books from this author as I very much enjoyed this book and am grateful to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy of the book, all opinions are my own.

This is the type of book to take on a long plane trip as it will keep you immersed from first page to last. It’s a true thriller with a strong focus on fast pace and a mystery which is complex enough to keep you working on the solution. Really enjoyed this.
I loved the cover of this book. Was a bit disappointed in the plot. A bit repetitive and sterile. I usually prefer shocking twists and characters and plots with more depth.
This is a pretty straightforward detective duo vs serial killer plot. Unfortunately, even the killer seemed rather benign to me.
The cover, title, and blurb really intrigued me. From the beginning, I was pulled into this novel. On the second page, it’s revealed a woman’s body is found. This event kicks off an investigation that by two detectives with varying experience-levels and approaches. Not long after, a second body is found, and the police must find what might be a serial killer before they strike again. The story is told from three people’s perspectives, which keeps it interesting.
The plot is good, and the characters are believable, but most of the story is straight narrative—recapping events, rather than exciting scenes. I skimmed a lot of the backstories and narrative to get to the action. Certain information the detectives discover is repeated when they sort through what they’ve found to come up with different ideas on how to find the killer. The repetition made me feel like I wasn’t trusted to remember the facts.
Readers starting their journey in detective and crime thrillers will enjoy this novel.
I'd like to thank the author, publisher, and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Thank you!

YOUR COLD EYES
creepy serial killer fiction
by Denver Murphy
If you love a bit of everything, no love story here, It had suspense, murder, serial killer, mystery, then this one is for you. It was so well written, I could not figure out who was the serial killer. That says a lot about a book. You have to keep reading. Forget what you had scheduled, this one will make you NEED to finish.
A very good book, I requested this mainly because of the cover but once I got into the book I knew I had made the right choice, absolutely brilliant from the first page and once I couldn’t put down
This is my first novel by Denver Murphy and I hope that it won’t be my last. After reading the blurb, I was hoping that this book would keep my interests long enough to finish it. I was enthralled from page one. This book is very well written with enough mystery and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time you are reading it. I had no idea The Who Dunn it part until the very end even though I pride myself on at least having an idea. The characters are so well crafted that you believe you are right there with them. The police work and detail is spot on and allows you to understand policies and procedures even if they were not true….you would have no idea. Very well written as the author definitely knows how to write a suspense/mystery.
5++++ stars out of 5
