What a cute, fluffy romance. I have seen the other books but it didn't click this was a series. I am glad it was written to be read as a standalone. I loved the characters, the relationship development and the genuine feel of the whole book.

I wish I knew of this series sooner. The Hawthorne brothers are swoon worthy and I knew what Tatum's plan was going to be but loved reading her figuring it out for herself. I'm excited for the next story.

I didn't realize for a while that this book is part of a series and now I can't wait to gobble up the rest. Needless to say, I truly loved it and can't find any faults with this breezy, juicy read. Jenny Proctor is a brilliant author who knows how to make readers swoon.

The chemistry was sizzling from the very first page and I couldn't help but ship the MCs throughout. I mean, how can you not with a scene where Tatum's dog Toby chases a goat in the kitchen (her name is Penelope and she's famous)? Or how about sexy underwear flying everywhere? And my personal favorite- fighting over the delicious Parmesan cheese.

While being a light, easy-to-read book, there is great emphasis on relationships- especially ones with family. So if you're looking for strong and authentic connections, this read is perfect. The brotherly bonds are so damn cozy, and I totally get why Tatum craves some of this in her life.

Plot-wise, I'd say it is a predictable HEA, but I did enjoy the turn of events. Coz when you add an enemies-to-lovers/ academic rivals combo to the mix, the result is an irresistible novel. Proctor knew what she was doing with the amazing flow of the story, making it a single sitting read, or something you can read within a day at least.

Final thoughts- I need a physical copy of this book on my shelf ASAP, and I can't recommend it enough to you. Be sure to buy this for a feel-good weekend read, or maybe gift it to a friend, or even better, a family member.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Jenny Proctor for a complimentary e-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. I love you so much for writing this Jenny! You're a precious gem<3

Like many others, I didn't realize this was part of a series. It definitely reads as a standalone but I loved it so much I'll be going back to read the others! I thought Lennox and Tatum's relationship evolved naturally and I enjoyed that there wasn't a huge third act conflict to sift through. Overall this was a quick, fluffy book that will definitely turn into a comfort read for me!

How to Kiss Your Enemy by Jenny Proctor was a fun, sweet, romantic comedy. I didn’t realize it’s a book 3 in the How to Kiss a Hawthorne Brother. I felt like it stood alone. However, I do want to go back and read the other two brothers. And I cannot wait for Flint’s story. I’m not usually a big fan of chefs being the main character, but this one was very well done. I felt like I learned a few things and the chemistry between the two of them was very good. It’s a closed door romance. I always enjoy when one of the characters has a great family environment. and her dog Toby was a delight and caused some fun scenes. I thought the author did a fabulous job with the ending.

This was a light, quick read and didn't really have any major plot twist. The character development was *chef's kiss*. The relationship between the MCs felt very genuine. This is definitely a contemporary romance, with just that: romance Overall, it was an enjoyable read.

4/5 stars

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘒𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘌𝘯𝘦𝘮𝘺 is my first Jenny Proctor novel and I have to say, I was hooked into her little fictional world almost immediately. Although I haven’t yet read the other Hawthorne Brothers books yet, I felt a connection with the warm, loving Hawthorne family and it was easy for me to get lost in the cozy world of Silver Creek. Reading this novel was like diving face-first into a fondue platter; it was oozing hot, delicious cheesy goodness right from the jump.

The perfect feel-good book to help you pass time at the pool this summer.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lennox and Tatum had a very competitive and almost hateful relationship in college and now when she comes to work as the caterer on his family's farm, things take a turn for entertaining.

"You know what they say about he link between love and hate," Brody says.
"True," Perry adds. "Imagine channeling all the passion you guys put into arguing into something else."

Channel away! This book is all I could've hoped for in a RomCom. The wit and banter is present in every single chapter and had me swooning; The underlying romantic tension was sizzling in a saute pan; and the humor and sweetness was almost better than dessert! Jenny Proctor has created a relatable family with wonderful characters and charisma. I loved everything about this story, but especially:

🍝Toby the golden doodle
🍝 the food descriptions
🍝 the bear scene
🍝 the shift in feelings
🍝 the sleep kiss

Why can't they make movies like this book anymore? It was soooo good!

Content: mild romance (kissing, very light innuendo)

When Tatum Elliott moves from California to North Carolina to be a catering chef at Stonebrook Farm, she knows her culinary school arch nemesis Lennox Hawthorne will be working there too. Because his family owns the farm. Way back when, they didn't get along all that well, but she needs to get out and the farm looks like a great place for that.
Lennox on his part isn't excited either about the new hire. The thing is, Tatum is actually much more attractive than he remembers. And for some reason, they seem to get along better, too ...
This was such a fun, cute read! I finished most of it in one session. I enjoy a good enemies to lovers story, and I very much appreciate novel series that go through entire families/focus on characters we've already met in other books who didn't yet get to shine. It is because of the genre a bit predictable, but that's also the charm of rom-com romances in my opinion. I found the epilouge a bit annoying because that used a trope I absolutely despise, but I suppose not everyone would feel that way. I had my fun with this though and will for sure read the other books in this series!

A light hearted enemies to lovers story of two chefs who butted heads at school, but now find themselves working together. Liked this one, and found it an easy read for summer. Would recommend.

A fab read, the story of Tatum and Lennox who were rivals in culinary school, so why is she joining his family business. A great series of books.

I adored this book!

This book is everything you need in a small town romance novel. Beautiful landscapes, enemies to lovers, adorable dog, delicious food, forced proximity, found family - just perfect.

I loved how the characters had a past from their culinary school days, enemies from their past experiences as rivals.

Thank you to netgalley for a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I loved this book from the first few pages. The writing style is engaging and the minds of our characters are hilarious. You feel the simmering tension from the beginning and root for the characters the whole time. It's a different take on forced proximity and ties in workplace/forbidden romance and, of course, enemies to lovers!

This is a truly heartwarming book about the fact that love can grow once one realizes and understands the emotional and intellectual capacity that can occur when one is ready and willing to change. Both Lennox and Tatum came into this working relationship with a negative attitude based upon the attitude they gave each other in the criticism during their school years together. It is only when they truly respected each other and took the advice into account that their love grew. I enjoyed how thoroughly Tatum was embraced into the Hawthorne family. They were both lucky to find each other and it was evident.

It’s been a few millenia since I actually finish a contemporary read, and I blew threw this one in the best happy-swoony-romance-reader way!

My first read from this author, and this is definitely the kind of sweet romcom I can get behind: no monologuish telling-not-showing/ cringey forced dialogue, but great, straightforward dual POVs. My expectations were low on the “Enemy” title alluding to an actual Enemies to Love trope, and, yep, it’s actually former academic rivals that squabble over first pick of produce and prick each other’s pride for the first 15%, but it was great. As a historical romance reader always needing some form of escapism, I expected to lean on the farm/restaurant setting and the competence of two talented chefs to help me hang on, and so it was. Loved the setting, loved the professional kitchen dynamic, plus we get a hero who can simultaneously be Mr. Sophisticated Restaurant Owner, Mr. Cooks from His Heart for Family and Mr. Scares off Wild Predators and Hauls off Logs. He’s also Mr. Emotional Maturity so, yeah, Lennox Hawthorne and his mascarpone hot chocolate are keepers.

I stay in the Kissing Only romance lane and prefer heated interactions as longing stares across ballrooms, so my threshold for mentions of physical attraction and use of the term “sexy” is pretty low. There were some instances were this could easily have gone pre-marital closed-door, but, though they are very physically into each other, and it does take up a good chunk of their stream of consciousness, this sticks to non-descriptive make-out sessions, and I found it well balanced with their emotional progression and substantiated feelings. Also they make a great chefy team! Tatum’s crossroads situation arc was so well balanced in finding her own path but also learning to lean on a partner for support and mind-blowing Bolognese. And,
speaking of great team, though I chaos jumped into this third book, the Hawthorne family is great, and there’s nothing like a brothers’ group chat.

I would definitely read more from this author and recommend this for whenever one feels the pull to enter the 21st century and swoon in the present.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.

Content notes: kissing only, no inappropriate language, on page toxic parent, mention of parent loss grief.
