Navy SEAL's Innocent Italian is the fourth book in the Denver Men series by Leslie North. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone mystery or as part of the series.

I loved the action in the book! The suspense was awesome, and the storyline was so engaging! The characters were fascinating, with awesome chemistry, and were well developed. The romance was smokin'!

This book is a quick read that I could not put down!

Jake is tasked with keeping an eye on Bresi, the antagonist. However, he becomes infatuated with Alexandra, who’s accompanying Bresi to the US. Hoping to leverage his relationship with her to get to Bresi, Jake unexpectedly finds himself genuinely falling for Alexandra, complicating matters of disclosure. On the other hand, Alex, elated to be in America, is taken by surprise when she encounters the charismatic Jake. As their whirlwind romance intensifies, questions of trust and familial ties arise.

The book showcases palpable sexual tension and passionate exchanges between the protagonists. Despite their instant attraction, which some might find accelerated, their bond feels genuine. The narrative takes a twist when Alex discovers Jake’s true intentions, leading her to distance herself, focusing on her musical aspirations. Recognizing he can’t live without her, Jake devises a plan, with his friends’ aid, to win her back and reveal the whole truth

A great example of the genre with expertly executed tropes. Highly recommend for fans of romance suspense.

In the fourth book in this series Jake is to trial and get close to Marco Bresi the man who kidnapped Trent and Brianna’s baby. There is a history between Trnt and Marco that is explained in these books, but here as Jake begins his assignment he finds himself attracted to Alexandra Moretti who is a musician and they end up spending a lot of time together. Of course, later in the story, this comes out and he must somehow prove to her that he really does care for her and that she was not just an assignment. I really liked this book as well and the author spoke of a piano piece by Ludovico Einaudi which if you get a chance is a nice piece of music. A good story.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.

This final book in the Denver Men series is another good short read which is heavy on the romance. The story follows Jake and Alex who meet and fall for each other over a short period - but will this last when one of them is keeping secrets? This is a well written book, I liked the two main characters and I wish I could say that the story wowed me but it didn't. For me, the issues between Trent and Bresi when resolved felt very anti climatic, and fairly predictable. I enjoyed the epilogue which bought back all the characters from the previous books. Overall I felt this book lacked the action that I enjoyed in the first two books, although I'm glad I got to see how everything worked out for Trent, Brianna and the other characters.

I was hoping that this book would be more exciting than book three. It started out with great hope. I guess that after the first two books was expecting more suspense. That is what I get for assuming. I did enjoy the love story between Jake and Alex. The conclusion to this series was weak though. .

Jake is tasked with following Bresi around to try to figure out what he is doing back in the United States. Alex is moving to the United States from Italy because she is starting a new job. Jake shouldn't do it but he gets involved with Alex and finds himself falling in love with her. Will they be able to find their happily ever after?

SPOILERS AHEAD.....

Alex was interesting and I enjoyed learning about her background and why she decided to move to the United States. I think she is a good character. I didn't really love Jake that much. He talks about being great at what he does but the readers never get to see him doing anything great. The one storyline that has continued from book one is Trent and Bresi being at odds. Did the private investigators actually do anything to solve the situation? Nope. After the kidnapped baby was found in book two, the story devolved into standard relationship fare. It was disappointing.

I will read more from this author in the future because I have enjoyed other series in the past. This one just felt disjointed and fell flat in my opinion.

Another book that doesn’t add anything to the story. The series could have ended in book three since the way things are worked out between Bresi and Caldwell are rushed up.
