I sort of liked this book. It was pretty good but 3/5 because it didn't live up to my standards. I am excited to read more of this author's books though, I just think this book wasn't up my alley!
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit Smuggler’s Cove in Alaska I love a good small romance and this didnt disappoint. Overall, fun!
I received this book for free for an honest unbiased review from Netgalley.
I wish more books were this well written. Characters were witty and the setting fantastic.
I am a little bit conflicted about this book. I enjoyed the writers style and voice, this author is clearly very talented, but I could not connect with it. I think this was in part because I thought this was more of A fish out of water return to small town romantic comedy and it was not. I did enjoy this book, the plotting pacing and writing were strong, the characters were.well drawn and spoke with great voice.
I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
This was a relatively fun read for me. I am a firm believer that too much sexual intimacy dominates the story, so I don't really care for more than a little spice in my reads. This was exactly that! A small amount of spice with the primary focus being on the relationship between Samantha and Noah.
I really appreciated the way that addiction was handled in this book, and the author did a great job with the setting. Three stars for me - absolutely a nice palate cleanser to help pull you out of a slump!
I adored this book! If you are looking for a fun summer read with a beautiful Alaskan view, this it it! Its a quick read and I flew through it. The romance was great, but the deeper topics were addressed as well.
Based on the cover / title I was expecting a light summer story. However, I struggled with the writing style. Despite a few attempts I did not finish the book. Thank you for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
This amazing story from the Smuggler's Cove series has it all; both emotional and humorous moments, character development, and most importantly...a HEA! What I love most is that Anna Lindgren does a fantastic job of giving us the details about why Sammy acts the way that she does. This really draws you in and helps the reader to connect with the characters on a deeper level! Add this one to your tbr ASAP!
Some Day Soon is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone!
✨ Tropes ✨
✔️ small town
✔️ forced proximity
Thank you to Anna Lindgren and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Admittedly, I have not read the first two books in this series, but I think it works well as a stand alone story. Sammy/Samantha has forged a bumpy path of self-isolation, and Noah is the first to try breaking through. I enjoyed their interactions and their development as a couple, though I feel the ending was perhaps a bit too much, too soon.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
The story of Noah and Samantha. He is back in town after a decade away, and she is the woman his family warm him to stay away from. All changes as he gets to know her and the secrets that have made her the way she is. You end up rooting for them to have a hea!
Some Day Soon is a romance book following couple Sammy and Noah. Sammy has a tough exterior and constantly pushes people away to avoid getting close to anyone. Noah is the local town star, everyone likes him and respects his family.
While this novel focuses on the relationship between Noah and Sammy, the plot is so much more. It deals with trauma, addiction, self-hatred and self discovery. It deals with how different people deal with difficult things in life. From building up walls to savior complexes, everyone deals with trauma differently.
In terms of plot, it felt a tad unbelievable how fast Noah fell for Sammy. I always love a slower burn and it felt like with the length of the novel, there could have been more build up to his feelings. Sammy’s feelings towards Noah felt more realistic and timed well.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and the addiction subplot hit home for me. Growing up with my grandparents due to addict parents allowed me to connect to Sammy’s upbringing in a way that was very therapeutic for me.
Thanks for the ARC!
I'm a sucker for small town romcoms and this one was just perfect. Their relationship, their dynamic, the town, the family, her backstory, I could go on forever.
I loved how wonderfully handled the subject of addiction was, I had to refrain myself from crying because damn it was well written and very real.
Sammy's character was so interesting, it's the first time I read a romance with the bully as the MC and I loved getting to know her and why she was the way she was.
Noah is so sweet and attractive. Period.
Also, one very important thing in my opinion is how much an author brings up the former couples in books from the same series. Here it was dealt perfectly, without too much insistance on the former couples and still keeping them around but as a real part of the story.
Last thing, I wish there had been more "saving" involved, but that might be just my "damsel in distress trope" obsession talking. Sammy is all about saving herself so it makes sense, but that's the ONLY thing I could criticize.
Anyway, thank you for this amazing read. As an aspiring writer myself, I can only hope to reach this level of fine romance crafting one day.
