Emily Wilde’s research adventures continue in this sequel—and I adored it just as much as the first installment. The writing is lush, prose-y, and Emily is a delightful narrator with her snark and no-nonsense approach to life and love. Wendell is just as frustratingly charming as ever, and I loved the addition of Ariadne to the cast. Looking forward to book three!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced digital copy of this book! Opinions are my own.

Thoroughly enjoyed this! Didn’t love as much as the first book but excited to continue in the series!

This one was not for me. I tried so hard to read it but the writing is dry and I can't get past Emily's gruff exterior. I don't like her and even Bambelby couldn't save this book for me. It was a DNF.

This sequel was so strong! It has all the magic, faerie lore, and wit of the first one, but the plot was more engaging. Each character had a purpose that drove the story forward. This book does the romance well because it's subtle, but so obvious at the same time. I can't wait for book 3!

Thank you onto the publisher and NetGalley for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

A perfect follow up to Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries! Getting to see Emily and Brambelby's relationship continue to develop was lovely, and it was fun to see Emily get a taste of her own medicine with her headstrong, foolhardy niece who kept barreling into dangers in the world of faeries. Love, love, love this series.

Hi, it's me, writing a review months after I devoured a book netgalley gave me.

Anyways Emily Wilde is my mother and I'd die for her. This book was just as charming as the first one with all the same little quirks, the academic style, the very autistic-coded girly. Wendell is so funny and casually bloodthirsty. Heather does such a good job at portraying the fae as enchanting, ethereal, and deadly. The prose is sharp. This book manages to be the rare sequel in a trilogy that lives up to the first installment. The stakes are higher and I can't WAIT to see how everything concludes in the third one!

I thought this book was very well written! It was a cozy read after many of the other books I read and I cannot wait to dive into the next ones. I think the author does a fantastic job of world building and creating magic!

Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands follows Emily and Wendell on another charmingly chaotic adventure. In this sequel, the two scholars seek a faerie door in the Austrian Alps. This book absolutely did not disappoint delivering the perfect balance of cozy vibes, faerie elements, and romance. I loved it just as much, and maybe even a little more than the first book! I can't wait to read more books from this author in the future!

Sorry for the late review, I was dealing with some health issues the past few months and I'm currently catching up on all my reviews and arcs!

Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries is a captivating blend of whimsy and sorrow, a book that lingers long after the last page is turned. Fawcett crafts a book that will stay with you, reminding you of the power of imagination and the importance of embracing the complexities of life, even in the face of loss.

This was a great follow-up to the first book, which I loved! I really really like this version of fey/fairy and the rules of their world. It almost feels like reveling in fairy tales tinged with darkness around their edges. Definitely recommend this series.

Book #2 of this magical realism book is just as good as the first. Emily, Wendell, and a few other cohorts go on a quest in Fae to find a missing professor, and Emily decides to track down Wendell's evil stepmother queen who poisoned Wendell. The throne rightfully belongs to Wendell, after all. Emily is a great academic and the fantasy elements are so easy to visualize. I can't wait for the third book!

I love Emily Wilde. She is what I want to be when I grow up - strong, brave, confident, smart, and true to herself. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. I enjoyed following Emily Wilde as she gathered research for her second book. Not quite as good as the first, but only barely behind. I hope the author writes more books in this world following this character!

I enjoyed this as much as the previous Emily Wilde book and will continue reading the series. I enjoyed Wendel's world particularly, and the relationship between the scholars, and I'm definitely curious to read the next one. At times I found the pacing a bit slow and the worldbuilding of the time period a little vague, but overall an enjoyable book with a unique world.

This is the second in the amazing Emily Wilde series and I think it was even better than the first! This time we travelled with Emily to the Alps and adventure ensues. I love that we were able to bring more people into this expedition and that Wendell was a more major character, since he was a favorite from the first book.

Emily Wilde is back in Emily Wilde’s Map Of The Otherlands and it was just as charming as the first one. I loved the journal entries and Wendell has my heart. Emily grew and found she was stronger and more confident in this one! Recommend! I can’t wait for the next one!

Emily Wilde is off on another adventure with Wendell Bambly! It all starts when Wendell is poisoned on his birthday on the orders of his stepmother who then sends assassins to finish the job. So the duo accompanied by Ariadne, Emily's niece, and Prof. Rose set off to find Wendell's missing door to his Irish kingdom by visiting the Austrian Alps. They are following in the footsteps of Danielle de Grey, a dryadologist who had disappeared 50 years ago. Now all Emily and company must do is solve the mystery of her disappearance, figure out how Wendell was poisoned and find a cure while stopping the stepmother and help Wendell take back his kingdom. Has Emily bitten off more than she can chew? Will she manage to get herself lost in Faerie again or will this be the time she rescues Wendell? How will she answer Wendell's marriage proposal this time? Read the book and find out!

Thanks Netgalley for the chance to read this title!

This sequel lived up to my expectations after reading Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia. Often, a sequel can fall flat; however, I really enjoyed the trip into the faerie lands. I felt this had more action and I loved that change in pace. Fawcett creates and describes these new creatures in whimsical and terrifying detail, as we race to help Wendell reclaim his throne.
