I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A book about some animal trying to explain the concept of tomorrow. I thought the print was too small and wordy for little kids.
Admittedly, the concepts of "today", "yesterday" and "tomorrow" are pretty sophisticated, and difficult to impart to young children. There are ways to convey these concepts that are successful, and others which actually leave things confusing. I think this book is in this camp.
I did like the bold and blocky illustrations, and the animals are pretty cute.
Thank you to Netgalley and to Orca Book Publishers for this ARC in exchange for my review.

Thank you NetGalley and Orca Book Publishers for accepting my request to read and review Owl and the Mystery of Tomorrow.
This is a miss and incredibly difficult to read out loud, as if to a child. Following along was equally difficult. The mention of tomorrow in the title had me trying to make sense of the story.
The illustrations were not helpful. They were primitive. My problem was they were a nuisance.
The book needs a good editor. This may have translated better to a different language. It doesn't work in english.
Text is playful and thought-provoking. Illustrations striking, bright and quirky. Ponders and plays with the concept of time - yesterday, today and tomorrow. I love that this book by a Hungarian-born author/illustrator currently working in Finland - and that it’s been translated and made available to English speakers. How lovely to share our stories with each other without regard to borders. Definitely recommended. Thanks to NetGalley and Orca Book Publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own."
I found this book to be more confusing then helpful. The images were very cute and fun.
It was the illustrations which drew me to this beautiful book and the characters are a delight.
Owl and the Mystery of Tomorrow is a lovely picture book which teaches children about time and days. It will be enjoyed by children reading alone and parents who are reading aloud.
"Today is just another normal day. Or is it?"
An interesting question to open a children's picture book with, and one that sets up a fun tale with adorable characters.
This book is actually translated from the original Finnish (by an author originally from Hungary), and the spirit of that shines through in both the story and the illustrations. That might sound puzzling to anyone unfamiliar with this quality, but those who know will understand what I mean.
That said, you needn't worry about being able to pronounce any of the characters' names, as they are all simply called by their species: Owl, Rabbit, Hedgehog, etc.
The story and illustrations match up well, with cute forest animals decorating the pages. I believe the story would be easy to read aloud, with simple, easy to understand language, and a story that explains exactly what tomorrow is.
And even if that particular lesson is unneeded, the story is endearing and the animals are fun, so it's not an unpleasant tale by any means.
I would recommend this to anyone with a young child (under the age of 5 or so) in their lives who likes to be read to (or likes to read themselves), especially if they like animals.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and Orca Book Publishers for the early copy. This has been my honest review.
This was a cute book that does a pretty good job of teaching kids what tomorrow means. I really enjoyed the illustrations and my son wanted to read it several times.
This story is an engaging way to teach children about yesterday, today, and tomorrow. My son laughed and enjoyed the illustrations. This a unique story for young children.
This is a cute book to tell children what TOMORROW means.
I’d recommend it for children ages 7 and under.
The illustrations were really cute.
