I felt like something was missing in the story it took a while for me to fully connect with Cass. And Tucker remained a bit of a mystery til the very end. I think what I wanted was a little more depth within the characters... I didn't necessarily feel the passion. And Tucker...we do not get to know him well as a person. And it made the story-lines come up just a bit short for me. Others may feel different, so if the summary sounds like something you would like give it a read!
Did not receive/read in time due to technical error on kindle/tablet. Not having left feedback has due to error has impacted my shelves. Leaving 4 stars.
WOW! I fully enjoyed this title. It was a brilliant look into a seemingly hopeless girl who is brought back to life by a first love. It's filled with drama, musicians, emotions galore, and heartache. All while you see that they share something very special.
UGH, this one was really a train wreck. Hated the main characters and their story. Disappointed in the story told in White Trash Beautiful. Surprised, since I mildly enjoyed the Honor Student series,
This book feels like modern Cinderella story — Cass being swept off her feet by a hot, tattooed rockstar ( better than a prince! )
This is my first from author, Teresa Mummert and I’d say , I like her writing style. She has a good way of letting her readers, like myself “feel” the characters and get into the story. Every emotion was felt and I love the dialogues.
Overall, a beautiful story!
I was never notified that I was approved for this book and didn't download it to be read. I'm leaving 3 stars for the book because 1 is too low for a book I haven't read and 5 is too high for a book that I have not read.
This is the first book in New Adult trilogy that has potential. The story was ok, but in the end it was a forgettable read.
I wanted to love this title, but I found it a little naive and cliche.
That being said, it seems to be the way titles like this are wanted. Women in particular, these days are searching for easy reads that are easy to relate to and this fits both of those boxes.
Well written, easy to read and a medium, steady pace all make this book an easy days read.
I wasn't a fan of this book. The writing and the characters were too immature for my taste and I found the setup too unbelievable. It made it hard to connect with the story and want to see it through to completion.
I remember starting this book years ago, but never finished. Couldn't get into it at all. DNF.
Some of the characters were okay but I felt like this could have been better. It had a good idea for a story but I don't think it was done as well as it could have been,
I wish that we had learned more about Tucker, but the whole time you root for the main character Cass.
**My thanks to NetGalley and Gallery Threshold Pocket Books, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
Things go really fast in this book in that you get insta-love especially on Tucker's side. Cass we find right from the beginning is the definition of trailer trash and has been working a diner job since she left school and basically pays for her boyfriend and mother to live.
Jax used to be a lovely person but has migrated to drugs and booze and now is the ultimate bad boy, but every once in a while the nice side comes out.
Cass's mother is also high on booze and drugs, thanks to Jax so Cass rarely gets any support from her mother.
Cass has a little too much internal monologue for my liking but the book is only told from her point of view.
Things change when Tucker basically starts to take most of her free time, and slowly things come to a head leaving one almighty blow out.
The story is written well, there are times you really feel sorry for Cass with her upbringing, but i never really got over the insta-love with the up and coming rock star.
