This was an easy 5 stars from me! I love when there are dual narrators for the differing points of view! The story was riveting and kept me on the edge of my seat! I finished it in a day!
I enjoyed this audiobook!
The different voices really made this audiobook. I loved the accents and it definitely made the story more authentic. As far as the story, I felt there were pieces that were unnecessary. They didn’t add to the suspense and honestly I didn’t feel any suspense during this book. I also didn’t feel this was a thriller but more a domestic drama. I enjoyed the mixed media with the police reports and interrogation recordings. Honestly, I was back and forth a ton on who killed who. And in the end I was 50% right. There were characters I felt empathy for, but some that I truly don’t know why they were in the story.
I listened to this book on audio. It was quite depressing. Several couples where one spouse had died. Gambling addiction. Drug addiction. Infidelity. Complicated families. Everyone's life seemed very grim. The book basically involved around the deaths of a paediatrician and his wife. And all the people involved with them: the cleaner, her landlord, the lover, their friends etc. Though gloomy it kept me hooked until the end but none of the characters were at all likeable.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! No spoilers. Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to. Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Maybe even a book club pick. Our library purchased and our patrons have been checking out and and enjoying the book. I see it is a popular book club choice as well we hope to have more oppurtinies to support authors like them
3.5⭐️ When a wealthy couple is murdered in an affluent neighborhood, detectives set out to find a motive among a select group of seemingly random people with connections to the victims.
When I first started this one on audio, I was a bit confused as to who was who. There are quite a few characters, and some of the names and descriptors are very similar to one other. Once I started to get a handle on the premise and the characters involved, I found myself intrigued and invested in what was happening. While this is not the twistiest of books, and I was able to accurately predict most of the plot line, there were some really fun smaller twists that I did not see coming.
Thank you Macmillan Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.
This story was a little hard to follow, as the women narrator's voice seemed very similar to me. I did like their voices though, I just which there were a few more narrators to round out the story. The pace was a little slow for me, but I think it's what the story needed. I liked the book overall and will recommend it to my followers who enjoy Nordic mystery books.
I definitely enjoyed this read, better than others I have read by this same author. The book was engaging, and I really found this to be a great page turning psychological thriller. I would definitely recommend this author, going forward.
This book was based on an actual true crime. I've never read a thriller/mystery book where it was based on a crime! So this book was exciting, I don't like reading POVs from multiple characters. My max is 2, maybe three but this was a little more than that. But I did enjoy this book and recommend it
Thank you to NetGalley, M.T. Edvardsson, and Macmillan Audio for sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.
Family tragedy, justice, guilt, and betrayal combine to create an addictive character-driven thriller. My heart went out to Bill, the widowed father, and his sweet daughter Sally. I loved the way the author demonstrated their close loving relationship. I also enjoyed the connection between Sally and their lodger Karla. The tender description of their interaction was touching and added emotion. Intense, emotional, and suspenseful describe every minute as details are revealed about the murders. I was engaged from start to finish and the last sentence left me breathless. The narrators expertly brought the characters to life adding feeling and realism. Thank you, NetGalley, and Macmillan Audio for my audiobook. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a twisty thriller that kept me guessing! A wealthy couple is murdered in a nice area. A whole tangled mystery of lies and deceit unfolds. Definitely recommend.

This is my first read by this author, but overall, I enjoyed this book. It wasn’t anything too crazy, but I still had an enjoyable time reading it.
I did a combo of the audio and physical book. At times I did struggle with the audio, but I’m glad I had the actual book too. Otherwise, I would’ve been so confused with the characters.
We follow three different characters: Bill, Karla, and Jennica. While I didn’t care for any of them, I still found each one to be interesting. I always love when we begin with a death but we don’t know who it is… this was such a fun popcorn thriller in regards to that.
However, I did feel like the story dragged at times and was a bit too long. I was engaged early on, but it did lose me a few times throughout the book.
I did enjoy the intertwined storylines between all characters. I did predict the ending, but I do think it’ll be enjoyable for certain readers.
I honestly struggled so much with my rating on this book, but I feel like overall it was an average thriller. It’s nothing I’ll remember for long, but it was enjoyable for the time I was reading it.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the review ALC and Celadon Books for the physical review ARC in exchange for my honest review!
The Woman Inside is a thriller focused on the mystery of what’s happening behind closed doors in the house of wealthy couple Mr. And Mrs. Rytter. Mr. Rytter is a successful and well-loved pediatrician around town, but their house cleaner, Karla, suspects there’s more to the story the more she learns about his ill wife, Regina.
The depth of characters is where this book really shines - it’s clear that everyone in the story is shaped by their own set of experiences and trauma and it’s interesting to see how that affects their relationships. In particular, I really liked the relationship that grows between Karla and Sally, the daughter of Bill, who Karla is renting a room from.
That said, this is also one of those thrillers that wouldn’t have a plot if everyone just…went to therapy. Everyone has their own problems and continues throughout the book to make them everyone else’s problems too.
Story wise, the book was interesting, but missing a wow factor. I wasn’t quite on the edge of my seat, as there were no really good twists or turns. It wasn’t so much a predictable ending as an unsurprising one.
Overall, I think I’m learning that I’m not the biggest fan of domestic thrillers specifically, but if those are up your alley, you should give this book a shot!
I really liked the premise of this book! It kept me guessing the whole time. I would’ve given it 5 stars if the narrator was better.
This suspenseful mystery winds through three different stories that are connected and come together at the end to solve the crime. But who committed the murder? All of the main characters are flawed and I didn't find any particularly likeable, but I don't think they were supposed to be likeable. It comes down to which flaws combined with the right motivation make one capable of murder. An interesting storyline carried out satisfactorily. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the audiobook to life.
Bill, a single father struggling to pay rent, opens up his home to Karla, a college student needing a room to rent. The two are tangled up in a murder investigation when Karla's clients are found dead in their home. This is not my typical read, but Celadon Books were kind enough to send me an ARC/ALC so I gave it a go. I have to admit, I did not find a single character likable, but I think that was purposefully done. Overall, this did keep my attention but I wouldn't say it was in any way mindblowing as far as mysteries/thrillers go. The ending was kind of obvious but does still leave you with a bit of uncertainty and questions. 3.5/5
I found this one difficult to follow on audio, there’s a lot of characters/POVs. I really couldn’t keep track until the end. I will say I was pleasantly surprised by the ending and how everything came together. I am just not sure the journey to get there was for me!
Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC.

The Woman Inside is an interesting whodunnit about a wealthy couple being murdered and how it impacts their inner circle. Told from multiple POVs, this is a slow burn mystery full of police interrogations, media coverage, and interviews.
While I loved the narration and audio production, the mystery was a bit too slow for me. Listening on audio definition elevated the story. Overall, an intriguing mystery with excellent narration.
ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I cannot say enough on how much I truly enjoyed this audiobook.
The narration was easy to listen to and her voice was soothing and not pitchy.
The storyline was intriguing and kept my interest peeked.
I would highly recommend this audiobook. This is a new favorite author.
Thank you to the publisher, author and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and review this awesome novel.
A slow burn audio which may have been better had I been reading and able to flip faster through the pages. This was my first M.T. Edvardsson novel and the language, words I didn't understand, things I looked up because #thatshowmybrainworks, made this one an interesting read.
The premise involves multiples of characters, wealth, poverty, a drugged wife, bad choices, some intrigue.....all of that kept me listening and I finished this one in an afternoon and a morning. Here's the one catch which I cannot explain - despite enjoying the book, there was not one single character I liked or cared about. Even the kid annoyed me. How is it possible an author can create a world where I would have been fine with all of them dying, yet I still listened joyfully to the end?
This twisted tale starts with a wealthy couple dead in their mansion and keeps readers engaged with multiple viewpoints that you know will eventually converge. I read on audio and thought it was well done with multiple narrators. Although none of the characters were particularly likable, I was invested in how it would all play out.
