Thanks so much for the review copy. I’m so glad I gave Hawkins another chance. Her books keep getting better and better. This is by far her best one yet. I stayed up late because I just had to know how this book would end.

I absolutely LOVED this! I recently read The Villa by Rachel Hawkins and really enjoyed it so I was thrilled to get my hands on this one.
This was a fun fast paced thriller/suspense novel. I love rich people drama, then throw in all the crazy family members with tons of personal drama between them 10/10. It was just crazy plot twist after crazy plot twist. I couldn't put it down.

This book truly has it all - history, romance, mystery and murder? All taking place in the Blue Ridge Mountains? Sign me up. As a North Carolina native who went to college in those mountains, I really appreciated all the nods to NC places that were used to develop the story, The main characters were enthralling and the mystery had SO many layers, I loved this book and had SUCH a hard time putting it down! Definitely check it out!
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Omg what a story. The twist and turns even till the end of last page it was amazing. I loved every part of this book and I’ve loved this authors writing since the beginning. I can’t wait to recommend this to everyone I know and anyone walking on the street

At first I wasn’t certain if I’d enjoy this book. Then, the story got good. And even better and then the twists and turns started coming and in the end my mind was blown….Wow!
The characters were described in such detail and even though the story went back and forth in time I was able to keep up. Such a great book!

A family drama with faint Evelyn Hugo vibes, this has all of my favorites - multiple POV, mixed media, old money behaving badly, and dual timelines via letters. And the Lara Larchmont reference was a fun easter egg from The Villa. I really enjoyed the story of Ruby McTavish and this had enough secrets and little twists to keep it interesting but not convoluted.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital copy and a chance to read this early. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced digital copy.
Where to start? I love Rachel Hawkins thrillers. They are always easy reads and always fun.
The Heiress was fun and a fast read, However, it just didn’t have the same thrill as reckless girls or the wife upstairs.
The story was good. It had twists as one would expect from a thriller. But the unpredictable twists didn’t come until the end of the story for me. I did like the letter and news elements. I also liked the fact that it was set in the mountains of North Carolina. And end the end I did feel like I was starting to get attached to Jules.
Overall, it was a good story, but not my favorite. She is still an instant buy for me though.

This book is as a true thriller with so many twists and turns. I am a Rachel Hawkins fan and this book did not disappoint. It was a page turner!

The Heiress is so good! Camden McTavish inherited a literal fortune after his adoptive mother, Ruby, passed away. He left the money and the rest of the family behind and moved across the country. After his uncle dies, he is summoned back to the house and he brings along his wife, Jules. The chapters alternate between Jules' and Camden's viewpoints, with letters from Ruby and news articles interspersed. There's so much mystery and suspense. I did not want to put the book down. Highly, highly recommend! Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC.

A rich family in North Carolina, an adopted son who wants nothing to do with the family but comes back when his mother dies, another story of rich people behaving badly. There is mystery, and there are many family secrets. We learn about this family and the history of lies and deceit, and of course murder. #theheiress #rachelhawkins #richpeoplebehavingbadly #bookstagram #booklover #reader #bookblog #lovetoread #fictionreader #bookreview #bookrecommendation #readersofinstagram #bookloversofinstagram #takeapagefrommybook #readallthebooks #booksbooksbooks #booksofinstagram #bookwormproblems #bookaholic #booknerd #whattoread #readingtime #bookaddict #ilovetoread #ilovebooks

Ah, I loved this book! My favorite Hawkins novel yet. So many twists and turns of the best type. Any suspense readers will devour it. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

It took me a while to get into this book, but it definitely had me hooked at about 60% in! It is a story full of twists, turns, and a lot of corruption. It’s not necessarily a thriller, but aspects of the mysterious family kept me turning the pages.
I liked how the story was told through letters, newspaper clippings, and from different perspectives.

This story hooked me in from the first pages and held me tightly for the entire ride!
Ten years after the death of his adoptive mother, Ruby, Cam and his wife Jules return to the estate where he was raised -- and swore he would never return. Cam is the sole recipient of the massive estate and billions of dollars of family money, but he knows better than anyone that with all that comes some equally massive family drama. I loved learning more and more about the secrets and deception within this family as the chapters unfolded, culminating to a dramatic and satisfying finish!
I would recommend this to anyone who loves stories with complicated family drama and rich people behaving badly.

This was my 2nd Rachel Hawkins book to read and I enjoyed it immensely. This book is set in North Carolina and has unexpected twists. The story alternates between the past and the present though the past weighs heavily into the minds of the characters in the present. While some twists were easy to see coming, others I did not expect at all.
It was a captivating novel that made me look into Hawkin's work and read most of her books.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this one and the fact that it didn’t play out at all how I thought it was going to. I promise you, nobody is who you think they are and they all think they’re the kings and queens of trickery 😉 Can we also mention that Rachel Hawkins is the queen of having the most gorgeous book covers?! 4.5 ⭐️ rounded down.

This book is full of twists and turns. It grabbed my interest right away and held it throughout the entire story. I enjoyed the characters and the setting.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an ARC of this book.
I'm not a fan of Rachel Hawkins, didn't like The Wife Upstairs at all and I'm not sure why I read this book The Heiress. But I'm glad I did. One reviewer said her books keep getting better. This book is so much better than The Wife Upstairs. I loved how she organized the story. There were letters written by Ruby, who is the Heiress. There are newspaper columns. And narration by both people of a married couple. As these changing POVs progress, we are led down a creepy path of greed, murder, jealousy, hatred, and so many questions, many of which are left unanswered. Which is fine. By the end of the book, we, the readers, have a pretty good idea of what is what and can guess at answers.
There are reminisces of Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. I think there were illusions to some of Hawkins' other books.
All in all, this was a good almost gothic tale. Only the last paragraph was disappointing. It wasn't necessary at all.
This book certainly won't disappoint Hawkins' fans.

Oh-My-Lanta! This has got to be the best Rachel Hawkin's book to date. I devoured this book in one day, and was SO SAD when it ended. The twists, the turns, the messed up family.. It absolutely had me at the edge of my seat.
This is definitely recommended for all the other thriller fanatics out there. If you want a VERY well written story with constant plot twists --- This book is for you!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to preview The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins in exchange for an honest review. This was my first book by Hawkins. I was engaged enough that it won't be my last.
The story is well plotted with plenty of twists and turns. The main female characters, particularly Ruby, were the most interesting. I honestly didn't care too much about her son, Camden.
The main issue I had with the book is that there are too many perspectives and time jumps from chapter to chapter. It was a bit jarring and sometimes took a moment to catch up to the story. It would have been much better with only Jules, Ruby, and maybe the news articles telling their stories.
Overall, The Heiress is an intriguing family drama that shows how wealth is corrupting, especially in isolation. I'd recommend this to any fans of this genre.

This was so good. There were so many twists, turns and surprises. I couldn’t put it down. This family was crazy. I don’t want to give anything away but this is a great read!
