This was a fun, small town, dual POV, paranormal romance between a librarian and a new witch slash ghost hunter who inherits a haunted house and is tasked with freeing spirits trapped in magical objects.
Equal parts humorous and heartfelt, this was good on audio and perfect for fans of books like The ex hex or the Fix it witches series.
I loved all of this one, from its idyllic Michigan lakes island setting and the sweet female friendships that formed.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

Great mixture of witches, mystery and romance. The book was the perfect length. The side characters were a delight.

This paranormal mystery with a subplot of romance was a fun witchy read to kick off my fall TBR!

When Riley inherits Shaddow House in Starfall Point after her aunt’s death, she is shocked to discover that the home is full of ghosts attached to items in the home, and that she is a witch. Starfall Point is on an island, and she quickly learns that she feels ill when she goes off island, and that her magic awakens when she is in her new home. She finds her coven, a new man, and heaps of trouble during her first year at Starfall.

I found the book to be much more focused on Riley developing as a witch and understanding her new powers and duties rather than on the romance. I loved the concept, with Riley communicating with ghosts and helping them to move to the other side. The mystery was fun too, and easily set up for book two by the epilogue of this story. The ghosts were zany, unique, and sometimes scary.

I loved Riley’s coven members and thought they made for a fun group. As for Edison, the romance felt a bit rushed and I didn’t really feel their connection due to the focus on other things. The pacing felt slightly off at parts as well, with weeks apparently flying by in between chapters.

Ultimately it was a fun read set in a sweet small town, and I’ll look forward to checking out more from the author in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. I’d give this one 3.5 stars.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

After learning that her late aunt has left her the family home in Starfall Point, Riley Everett never expected to find herself embroiled in magic and mystery. She's always tried to deny the Denton part of her family, but she can't any longer, and has to embrace the magic which has always been in her veins. Now the custodian of the Shaddow House, Riley needs to protect the secrets within, especially as it seems that there are forces out there who want to exploit the power within. So when the local librarian, Edison Held, wants nothing more than to peek inside, Riley needs to work out whether her growing feelings for Edison is worth the risk, or if trusting him could be the key to their downfall.

I loved this book, and it's kick started a craving for witchy novels in me that I never thought I'd have. Riley and Edison's romance was so sweet, and so honest that I was nearly swooning reading it. Riley was one of the best heroines I've read in a while, funny and witty, with a strength that was unparalleled, and who cared for her friends and wanted to help others so much. The dynamic between her, Caroline, and Alice, was epic, and I can't wait to see how their friendship is developed in the series. The mystery was breathtaking, and there were times when I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what came next. There was a plot twist that completely took me by surprise, and the cliffhanger has left me desperate for book 2! My first book from this author, but definitely not my last!

As SOON as I felt a gentle fall breeze one semi-chilly August evening (which rarely happens in the South), I felt that fall was upon me. Therefore, I immediately looked at what I had on my Kindle and selected this witchy romance.

Witches Get Stuff Done was an adorable opposites-attract romance with a charmingly slightly-sentient house full of ghosts. I loved all of this one, from its idyllic Michigan lakes island setting and the sweet female friendships that formed.

Perfect for putting us in the fall spirit!

**Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca & NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. I received this book for free, but all thoughts are my own. – SLR 🖤

Overall, Witches Get Stuff Done was an entertaining read that had a fun setting and community of characters.

What I enjoyed:
- the Nana Grapevine, it was an interesting way to show the way knowledge and information spreads in small towns/communities.
- the friendship that formed between Riley, Caroline, and Alice. I liked how they worked together based on their strengths, were supportive, and complemented each other.

What gave me pause:
- I couldn't really buy into the relationship/romance part of the story. It seemed more focused on Riley learning about herself and her family stewardship so the relationship between Riley and Edison didn't really get a chance to flourish and develop. Which for a romcom this should be the focus.
- The ending/epilogue seemed out of place and leaving it on that sort of cliff hanger didn't work for me as a romance focused story.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casa for the e-arc!

The cover pulled me in with this book. It is definitely for those looking for light romance and a quick read. The story wasn't exactly what I thought it would be but that's ok. Every book isn't for everyone! I know there is plenty of people who would enjoy this book a lot. Interesting characters and plot just wish there was more romance but again thats just my preference! This is a low angst, fun small town mystery/romance!

I wasn’t sure what I was expecting going into this book, it was a romance but also a paranormal mystery, in a lot of ways I think it was more of mystery and then the romance was a subplot. I’ve definitely been on a romance kick this year and mysteries aren’t normally what I gravitate towards, but this one worked for me. I enjoyed following Riley‘s discovery of her mothers past and learning about her aunt and the mystery of shadow house. I also really enjoyed Riley, finding her coven informing relationship with the two girls. I liked the message of not doing everything on your own and taking help when you need it.

I enjoyed Edison as a character, he was a cute main male character in a nice counter to Riley. I also enjoyed the small-town antics that happened on the island on a regular basis. Those that love story was definitely more of a sub plot in my opinion it it was fun to read both Riley and Edison’s point of views throughout the story as they went from their initial misunderstanding to falling in love.

I did struggle a bit when trying to connect to the writing of this book, I’m not sure what it was, but something about the style took me a bit to warm up. I think I would have preferred a bit more time taken to build the characters up and showing us then rather then just telling the reader who they are.

This one ends on a cliff hanger and I do think I’m going to want to know what happens next!

Thanks to NetGalley, SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and the author Molly Harper for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest opinions.

Witches Get Stuff Done was a pretty cute witchy romance, and while I did enjoy it overall there were a few things that bugged me. The romance itself between Riley and Edison is a bit rushed and too insta-lovey for me. Other than that I really liked it!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance reader's copy of the book. I love love Molly Harper and this book doesn't disappoint. The first in a new series and I'm absolutely in love and cannot wait for the next book. Harper has done it again with another entertaining book that balances humor, romance, and mystery all at once. I will recommend this book to everyone and I cannot wait to have the physical copy in my hands.

“There is magic in your blood, Riley Denton, magic older than you can even imagine.”

Witches Get Stuff Done was a lighthearted paranormal read that was a lot of fun. When Riley travels to Starfall Point to meet her aunt, she doesn’t expect to inherit a haunted house and to learn that she has magical powers.

“There was a rightness about Shaddow House that she’d never felt before, a bone-deep certainty that she belonged there.”

Riley is a little bit lost when she arrives in Starfall Point, but she finds a sense of home and purpose when she begins her employment at Shaddow House. It was entertaining watching Riley navigate her newfound powers while also becoming part of the community and falling in love with the head librarian.

“Riley was…something else. There were times when spending time with her was comforting, and others when he felt like he was just holding on for dear life. He never knew what she was going to say or do or what they were going to face when they saw each other.”

Edison was the perfect match for Riley. They seamlessly blended together and understood each other. Add in the addition of Riley’s coven, the numerous ghost encounters and the underlying mystery and this story was a wacky good time. I can’t wait for this series to continue.

2.5
This book just did not do it for me. The insta love was really hard to get past, and the language seemed to me like purple prose which in and of itself is not bad per say, but a romances book like this it seemed out of place. The premise of the story was really cool and I liked all the interesting ghosts, but the non ghost characters and the romance just did not work for me.

Riley Everett travels to Starfall Point to meet her long-lost Aunt Nora, and discovers that not only has her aunt died before she can meet her, Nora has also left Riley her enormous house, her entire financial portfolio -- and a magical legacy. Edison Held, the town librarian, has long wanted to get inside Shaddow House to learn more about the town's history, but since he was always thwarted by Nora, he hopes her niece will be more amenable to his request. Unfortunately for him, they had a meet-disaster on the ferry to the island, and it's going to take some time to thaw the chill between them. But Riley's legacy is one she needs a little help with... and Edison really is just too good-looking to resist...

I was intrigued by the premise and the setup of the book, especially with how Riley is introduced to a magical legacy she never knew existed. But the book's short length doesn't really do enough justice either to that plot OR to the romance, and while it's obvious that the stage is set for the next book in the series, this book felt rushed and underdeveloped in the quest to get there. Interesting characters, interesting setting, but I wanted more. 3 stars.

Thank you, Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley, for providing an eARC of this book. Opinions expressed here are solely my own.

Riley arrives at in Starfall to see her lost aunt following the death of her mother but she discovers that her aunt has just died and left her everything. Riley discovers the ghosts that haunt the mansion and her family duty. I don't really know what to think of the story, the romance was really in the background and therefore not the central point of the story as you can imagine. Then I found that the characters accepted ghosts and magic far too quickly. Some passages could have been more developed. I'm a little disappointed with my reading because I was expecting something else

A woman inherits a haunted house on a charming tourist island and discovers she’s a witch? And she’s got a ghost butler and a new librarian love interest? I’m in!

This a light mystery, but touches on the trauma of loss and moving forward. The characters were quirky and likeable, and the house was a character in its own right. I already can’t wait for the next in the series!

Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC!

Riley's mom just passed away and she finds out about an Aunt Nora asks her to come to Star Point, Michigan. After an interesting ferry ride, Riley finds out her Aunt Nora passed away and leaves her the Shaddow House filled with secrets and ghosts. There's a sexy librarian, Edison he believes the house is filled with historical artifacts.

I loved this book. A witchy romance with ghost whisperer vibes. Yes, please.

#NetGalleyARC I usually really love this author's works but for some reason, this one just didn't stick with me It was a good story, maybe I'm just switched out but this one just didn't hit with me. The characters were fine, the story was fine (if not a bit overdone) but there was just something missing. I don't know, not my cup of tea this go around I guess.

A fun story involving ghosts and witches with nice, light romance mixed in! However, the timeline was pretty fast and I felt like I missed a lot of the relationship building between the characters and wanted to read more about the ghost shenanigans instead of them being slightly glossed over. I think if the whole book was set over a couple months rather than closer to a year, that would have been better!

But still a good, light read for those looking for a paranormal story!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
