I cannot even begin to tell you how much I loved this book. It was the best finale to this series. The witty banter, the love hate relationship, the spice....chefs kiss, all of it. While I loved the story I loved the way the author approached the idea of death and dying. While the four horsemen are biblical in nature the story wasn't overtly religious. I appreciated this series rawness and commitment to making the reader understand the horror that the apocalypse would bring. All four books drill into you how bad this would be for humanity. I know some people really didn't like this but I felt it was so important to the story that you understand how bad things are. Back to the romance though it was so good and I loved these characters so much. Bringing back the other horsemen was done so well and made me realized how much I had missed them. This series will always be one of my very favorites.

Mixed feelings. Death was too marshmallow for my taste and some things were repetitive of the rest of the series, but the final chapters were really good. I'm really looking forward for the next release of this author.

“Life and death are lovers, kismet,” he whispers, shifting my hips to align us. “We are lovers. It has always been this way. It will always be this way.”

Death, ironically, has made me come alive.
I want to preface this review by saying that I read this book out of order from the series and started with it first, which is totally my bad. But! What I liked most about this book was the presence of the other horsemen, even if I don’t fully know their stories just yet. The first ~20% was lacking because it’s essentially just Death and Lazaraus playing their weird game of cat and mouse with no other meaningful characters (literally anyone and everyone else dies). Having the other horsemen show up made this book a lot more interesting. My biggest gripe with this book is that the random baby made no real sense to me. It felt like it was just thrown in there, and I’m not sure it adds much substance in terms of character development. I almost would have preferred Death and Lazaraus’s relationship to come about more organically than forcing Lazaraus to seduce Death to save a random child she found. It was forced, and unnecessary.
I enjoy Laura Thlassa’s writing. It’s always easy to get into, even if the plots get a little wild and crazy. This book was no different. I read it quickly, I had a good time reading it, but it’s not a book that will stick with me or live in my head rent free. Overall enjoyable, but not memorable in comparison to the other books I’ve read by this author.
“Yes, but life and death are lovers, kismet. They always choose each other in the end.”

The final book in The Four Horsemen series by Laura Thalassa, this is the story we've all been waiting for. While this can be read as a standalone, i'ld highly encourage reading the first three books to get an insight onto the storyline of the other Horsemen and why they were brought to Earth.
Pestilence, War and Famine all failed in their journey of bringing the world to an end. These three brothers all found love and ended up seeing the good in humanity.
The only one left to bring the apocalypse is Death. He is by far the scariest and deadliest Horseman. Will he succeed where his brothers failed? Will he cross paths with his brothers in his journey to destroy humanity? Will he find love just like his brothers did or will he fulffill the task that god had set up for him?
OMG, Laura absolutely nailed it with this series. I loved reading the story of all the brothers and definitely appreciated how Death's story differed from the first three.
Death is ruthless, is and does exactly what his namesake says. Enter Lazarus Gaumond. Death decimates her town and is stunned when he can't get a read on her soul. He's never encountered anyone like her and every time they cross paths, his desire for her grows stronger but he refuses to fail and give in like his brothers did. He will succeed.
Lazarus has seen first hand how easily Death can destroy towns with minimal effort. She's determined to stop him any way she can. And so begins this game of cat and mouse. Except, what will happen at the end once Death has succeeded in his mission?
Fantastic story and series. I can not recommend this highly enough. If you are a fan of paranormal and have heard about the four horsemen, then you definitely need to read these books.

This is without a doubt one of the most unique series I’ve ever read and I am completely and utterly obsessed with everything about it.
Death, like I thought, did end up being my favorite. This man was just something else and I was head over heels in love with him. The emotions I felt with this book was something so unique to this particular one. Laura put crack in this book for sure because I just devoured this book and felt like I was tearing up so many times because of my intense amount of love for this book and this series. These characters were truly just so perfect for one another and I found myself swooning every other line I felt like. Just pure perfection.
I’m unbelievably sad this series is over but also overjoyed that this series was written in the first place because I loved every second of my entire reading experience with this series. This series as a whole was so incredibly unique and Laura nailed it with these characters and this world. I love love LOVE this series.

What is Life, if not love?
Death is given his own chance at love when the very embodiment of life emerges in Lazarus. She's everything he's not, and she wants to show him what it means to live. Unlike his brothers, Thanatos has no hate for humanity. Instead, he is bound by eternal divine command. But will he go against God herself to keep his love?

The finale of The Four Horseman series is such a bittersweet title for me. Laura Thalassa definitely sticks the landing for this one as well. She's basically the queen of enemies to lovers at this point right? The final climax of this book is what the series has been leading up to and it had me on the edge of my seat.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was a really good experience. The writing and plot were very original and exciting. Definitely recommend.

I do not know what to do now. How am I supposed to just go on with my reading life now that this is done? This was a series that I could just come right back to and reread again and again. This one broke my heart and put it together again!!

how did the exact same book get away with being written 4 times. I have to say this book probably feels the wrath of me becuase its the last one in sight. So the good of this book is that Death is like the nicest of the horsemen, the series ends, all the horsemen show back up, and ... the book ends
its done its finished...
and it was the same story with swapped out names and minor backstory..

I received this book for free for an honest unbiased review from Netgalley.
I wish more books were this well written. Characters were witty and the setting fantastic.

Love everything by this author and this was another example of why. Can’t wait to finish the series.

I had no expectations when I started this series, but I really enjoyed it. All four horsemen surprised me in different ways, and I think Death might have been my favorite! I was shocked at how sweet and romantic Thanatos was! Ok yes, he is Death and all, but he was completely obsessed with Lazarus.
She was the one person he couldn't unalive and all he wanted was to spend the rest of time with her. Laz was Death's perfect match (besides being immortal) in that she was his opposite - she was so full of life and strong and sassy and ultimately taught him what love was all about. It was very funny how she was teaching him about human things, like food.
The other three horsemen made a few appearances and it was fun to see what they were up to. Famine in particular had me cracking up. This the spiciest of the 4 books by far and there are a lot of very steamy scenes. I loved how each book had a different theme and this one was most definitely love.
“Yes, but life and death are lovers, kismet. They always choose each other in the end.”
I felt like this book did an excellent job wrapping up the series and it had a very satisfying ending. It was really touching and I found myself crying over the four horsemen of the apocalypse!
I would highly recommend giving this series a read!

The Four Horeseman Series by Laura Thalassa is such a fun unique genre-bending ride. It's a dystopian apocalyptipc paranormal spicy romance that skirts lightly religion for the frame work (managing to be a respectful and true to tradition), but spares no punches. While you can read them individually as quite a bit of time passes between each book, they meld together into an overarching story cherishing love and respect as central to each relationship.
Because they work so well together and when you finish one you will need to delve right into the next one I'm going to give you the four book run down. They are each similar in that you'll see an enemies to lovers arc. However, each woman and horsemen is unique in their background and worldview. We travel the world with them crossing continents and cultures.
The first to arrive is Pestilence and he is out to ravage the land.
Following is War, and it starts in Jerusalem. Appropriate. This couple is definitely different but I think I liked them even better than the first two.
After, Thalassa definitely mixes things up with Famine. In fact, it begins in a most unexpected way with a most unexpected character in South America.
Finally, Death. This one is probably best read after you've read the first three as the band does get back together to do some end of the world stuff. But, again, this book stands on its own as not only has Death come but he has found the one person who won't stay dead.
This series is completely additcting! Expect each book to be devoured in one sitting.

Neil Gaiman is, without a doubt, my favorite author. Needless to say, I was super excited to be explore his worlds in details with an academic twist. The author explored his short stories, screen plays (Beowulf), and his more popular works, including the Sandman Series and my personal favorite, Stardust. Her insights were eye opening and made me think of the themes with a new mindset and gave me more insight to the perceived world of Medieval life.
Despite not realizing when I requested the book it was the fourth in a series, I was still able to immerse myself in the book! The enemies to lover trope was very well done between Death and Lazarus. Despite the scenes full of action and suspense, Death was portrayed with a sense of dare I say, innocence. The romance had a sense of realism with both characters processing emotions and learning to acknowledge each other’s needs and wants. The spice was definitely there (and enjoyable to read). The supernatural aspects were outstanding and kept me glued to the page! It was an enjoyable read cover to cover!
Note: Now I’m super excited the read the rest of the series in order!

Sucked me in and made me cry. This story was so heartbreaking and the best one of the series.
The way death, as immortal, experienced food, laughter, blow jobs, and other mortal things was so funny.
The banter between the brother was rich and I can only imagine them at a family dinner in the future being the same.
The love story in this book felt like more. The character development was great.
I still love Famine and Ann the best.

I knew I would like this, and I did. The wrotting was honestly so fantastic. The author really knows how to craft characters and make them relatable even in a pretty unbelievable setting. If you like romance and female leads that feel real, look no further.
This was such a fun read.

I have enjoyed most of these series, but by this book it was very repetitive. The middle of the book went on for a loooong time, and I found myself speed reading through it to find out how the series ends. If you enjoyed the rest of the books you will probably enjoy this as well.
