I was lucky enough to receive and ARC is this book and, as always, it’s nice to see the story take place from Hades’ perspective. I like to see the reasoning behind his broody and sometimes harsh demeanor, no matter how much we know he loves Persephone and things do get explained in her books. His dark and sensual nature never gets old and his protective streak is hot. As are all oh his dark thoughts and dirty deeds. But the end was definitely stressful and I look forward to seeing ho things resolve out of this mess!
I love these Hades POV books, his perspective is so different from Persephone’s, and it adds so much to the story. To me though, the best part of Hades POV is the look at the other gods and players, particularly Hephaestus and Aphrodite. I am dying for their book, the more we see of them through Hades eyes just makes me more excited. I’m very excited for the finale of this series!
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I received an arc of the audiobook upon its release for my honest review through Netgalley.
This was one of my most anticipated releases of the year. I am a huge Scarlett St Clair fan and an even bigger Greek Mythology fan. I love a good myth retelling, especially of Hades and Persephone. But they're not all good and you can tell when someone does or doesn't know their mythology...
Scarlett knows her mythology. It's apparent in the way she writes not just Hades x Persephone, but the entire world of gods and their world. I am so impressed with how Scarlett can take modern situations and incorporate them into the mythology and still give the mythology its true voice within the story. I love seeing how she takes multiple myths and gives them a timeline. Something I know can be extremely challenging with how often myths contradict each other.
I really enjoy Hades side of the story, more than Persephone's. Don't get me wrong - I love Persephone, but all the behind-the-scenes that Hades is a part of is much more what I enjoy reading. The backstory of the Underworld, Olympus, and all the other really interesting things that go with being God of the Underworld. Did I mention how much I love the way Scarlett writes the Underworld? It's hauntingly beautiful.
Anyways, I like that we have been seeing both sides of their story in separate books because it lets both of them really shine and build the story fully. But I am glad that the finale is both POV (especially after this cliffhanger) so that I can see both their reactions in the conclusion. (Touch of Chaos, 2024)
I love Dionysus & Ariadne's relationship and their side story. I have always loved Dionysus and I adore the way Scarlett writes him and his madness. You can't forget Hermes' quick comments, Aphrodite and Hephaestus' broken love story... and the redemption of Apollo. I really love the growth of Apollo in these books... a lot. And of course, Hecate and Thanatos. Honestly, even the Gods and Demis that we're supposed to hate - the development is so good. Even Demeter.... !!
I am so excited to see how this story concludes! and for Apollo/Hyacinth & Aphrodite/Hephaestus' stories if they still happen. Honestly, I could read just Hermes tease Hades all day and that would be so entertaining for me.
This book is the third installment of this series. This story takes a different route by including multiple POVs and a new romance.
The plot moved at a good pace until the halfway mark. The rotating of characters POV continued to about the halfway mark then it reverted back to being Hades POV for chapter after chapter. Then the movement of the plot falls away and it becomes smut scenes on repeat.
The alternating characters doesn’t reduce the smut. As both Theseus and Dionysus’ perspective described their desires and bodily arousal in detail. I felt sorry for them as it is chapter after chapter of their bodily arousal.
The author introduces a new love interest and it is honestly a breath of fresh air. The love interest kept this reader intrigued and a much needed break from endless smut scenes from Hades and Persephone. But at the halfway mark this took a back seat and was forgotten to the Hades perspective.
Overall, this story is better than the second story, but I will probably not be continuing this series.
I love this series. I'm a little late to the party; I started A Touch of Darkness a couple months ago and have worked my way through all of them pretty quickly (side note-- very excited for A Touch of Chaos). I don't often like when a series has separate books from the other character's perspective because it tends to feel super repetitive, but it doesn't feel like that with these. I feel like there's a lot of research done on Greek mythology and the way it's woven into all of these book is fantastic. That being said, this wasn't my favorite book in the series. I think A Game of Fate will always be may favorite of the Hades saga, but I did really like the Dionysius and Ariadne's bits in this one.

"Are you well?"
Sir.... with you I never am!
It's like stepping back home after a long vacation. As a reminder this is the third book in HADES POV, this is his POV of a Touch of Malice. But this is so much more than Malice this is continuation of the Hades side of things.
Scarlett's character feel like home, feels like family. You fall in love with the character again, every twist and turn and battle that brews. We explore more of Dionysus and Ariadne and we are begging for more of them. The story expands more and gets you ready for what is to come in a Touch of Chaos. Yes, my heart broke all over again. Leaves you impatient and waiting for more.
Always will say too, I love my Hecate and my Hermes. That is all.
Always fun to see what's been going on from Hades' POV, but the added POVs from Dionysus and Theseus kept things fresh. Looking forward to the finale!
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy of A Game of Gods,
I liked this book and it was a good close to the series. I needed a good ending and I had a lull in the middle of the series but this was a nice ending.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy of A Game of Gods, I thought this was very good and was the last book in the series. I havent been super involved in this series before but this was a great close out to it.

He would marry Persephone no matter the consequences, because in the end, a life without her was not a life at all.
A Touch of Malice from Hades (and others!) POV. I enjoyed this peak into Hades’s mind, but I actually think I enjoyed Persephone’s better. I liked the addition of Dionysus’s POV and it was interesting to have a break from Hades and Persephone’s well-established love to have something newer and fresher. It was also really great to get more of characters I really love like Hermes and Hecate! The dedication says that this series is a soap opera, and it absolutely is. I love it so much.
This… it went beyond love. It was devotion. It was worship. It was the power that began and ended worlds, and if he had to, he would do so in her name.
To be fairly honest I both loved and hated this book at the same time.
This story is essentially a reread of all the major events that happened in A Touch of Malice - book #5 in the Hades x Persephone series, except that this book is told in Hades' pov. Originally when Scarlett St. Clair announced that she was going to make books in Hades' pov to unmask his secrets and adventures that go alongside Persephone's pov I thought it was going to be great. But after reading the first book it was all a little disappointing.
Each book in Hades' pov is just a reread of Persephone's pov but from a different viewpoint. Sure, we get to see some of the things that Hades does that Persephone doesn't know about which does add to the story but only about 30% of the plot is new, everything else down to the smut scenes are the exact same. Also the fact that Persephone is constantly in the dark about everything that Hades does just makes him untrustworthy no matter how much he loves her and tries to protect her.
This book is a little different compared to the other two books because we get to see the povs of Dionysus and a little bit of Theseus so there's definitely some originality. I did like that because it felt like something actually worth reading to develop the plot further and introduce some meaningful characters on a deeper level.
In all honestly, Scarlett St Clair could have written both Persephone and Hades povs together from the beginning. There could have been some overlap with the povs but at least it wouldn't be two separate books describing practically the same romance plot. Just make one book that's slightly longer.
That's not to say that I will be reading book #6 the second it comes out. Hopefully that book will have Persephone and Hades povs together so we can finish the series in one great book. I'm not excited about the potential idea that there will be a book #7 in Hades pov recounting everything from the previous book.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
We’re almost to the end of this series, and the books just keep getting better!
Content warning: There is explicit, on page, attempted (but ultimately unsuccessful) sexual assault in AGOG. There are also flashbacks to sexual assault, mentions of human trafficking, and the general death, murder, and alcoholism that Hades brings along for the ride.
AGOG is book 6 in the series, and the companion to A Touch of Malice, and boy oh boy, did Hades get up to some stuff while Persephone was off working.
Side bar: Hades needs a therapist. Like…badly.
AGOG was such an emotional and dense book, but I still zoomed through it. I loved it, it made me feel all the feels. From crying, to heart bursting, to raging, all of it.
If you haven’t yet, you really need to read all 6 books in order before A Touch of Chaos comes out in November! The stories from Hades & Persephone’s worlds collide and we get multiple POVs in ATOC.
I can’t wait for the conclusion to this amazing series. It’s bittersweet; I want to stay forever.
“I will give you the world,” he whispered, his mouth hovering over hers.
“I don’t need the world,” she said. “I just need you.”
🖤 An incredible precursor to the finale of Hades & Persephone's series!
🖤 It's been a while since I read A Touch of Malice and so everything felt completely fresh! I forgot some things and was like omg wait what's happening?! I didn't remember this! I was shook.
🖤 I love Hades. I love how in love Hades is with Persephone. Man's is really down bad for her and completely obsessed and I just love to see it! I love how fucking excited he was to get married to her. The God of the Underworld was straight up giddy to be her husband. I fucking loved it!
🖤 I love seeing Persephone through Hades' eyes. It's really interesting to see how he sees her.
🖤 The Dionysus and Ariadne storyline was cool to see as that was completely brand new. Dionysus was kind of a puppy with her. Idk how to explain that vibe but he was! I'm excited to see more of their story in A Touch of Chaos!
🖤 Theseus is a sociopath and he's disgusting. Very impressed with Scarlett for even being able to write his chapters.
🖤 I didn't forget how bad the end got me in terms of cliffhanger but this one still hit me hard and I'm looking forward to A Touch of Chaos!
🖤 Highly recommend if you have read all of the books before this one! You will need it before A Touch of Chaos!
This book is one of my absolute favorites by Scarlett St, Clair.
The growth that the characters showed during the duration of this book was spectacular. I laughed, I cried, and I loved so hard with these characters. I cannot wait to see what comes next
I love all of Scarlett St. Clair's books and this is no exception. I really enjoy reading the Hades x Persephone story from Hade's perspective. While I don't thing this is quite as enjoyable as the original series I still really like it. I think that getting Hades side of things makes him a much more likable character. Reading this really got me ready for the last book, which is for both series as it will be dual perspective.
I have forever preferred Hades POV to Persephone's and that stays true in this installment. My only gripe is the additional character arcs. Personally I could have doe without them in this book. But the Hades portions were everything I wanted from this book! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoy this series and hades pov is by far my favorite! Scarlet continues to impress me with her writing and I can’t wait for the final book in this series .
Scarlets Hades is pure perfection ! He’s exactly how I would picture hades to be .

Alright, I need to start by saying it was so hard to choose just a couple quotes for this review, because our New Athens and Underworld loves WENT OFF! Okay, anyway! Gods, (no pun intended😜) this one left me even more heartbroken than A Touch of Malice did, and yes, I did, in fact, yell at Scarlett when I finished it. And I just keep telling myself she always writes HEA. There were so many layers to this, layers that you would never know were there if you only read Persephone’s point of view. Hades’ emotions and how he feels during his times with and without Persephone are so raw and vulnerable and unabashedly him that I found myself feeling them along with him. There are many sweet moments that we explore from Malice, but does anyone remember the ending of that? Because this just deep-dives further into the mystery of the who, what, and why, introduces us to even more players in this chess game, and raises the stakes even higher (plus, we get a little glimpse of Aphrodite and Hephaestus and I am here for it!). Aside from Hades, we are introduced to two new points of view that, and I know I sound like a broken record at this point, you NEED to understand what will happen in Chaos. We see events through the eyes of Dionysus and *cringe* Theseus. Bet you didn’t see that one coming. This just adds more fuel to the fire that is the pressure cooker of New Athens, both above and below, and the stakes are higher than ever. I love that we got answers to some of the mystery from Retribution whole simultaneously seeing Ariadne (and the crew, of course) stumble onto new trials as the loose ends and tangled webs Scarlett left us throughout start to come together in the most deliciously evil way. I am on the edge of my seat for the conclusion of this epic series after reading this one!

4.25✨ okay. St. Claire’s writing has 1000000% improved from Touch if Darkness and I am here for it. I absolutely love Hades perspective and thing that it adds so much more nuance to the storyline we’ve already seen in the Touch strand of this story. The addition of Dionysus and Theseus’ perspectives was really interesting to read and I am intrigued to see how it will play out. All of that being said, a lot was fucking happening in this book for the length of it. I firmly believe that if you are going to have multiple perspectives, do them justice. I wish we would have seen Theseus more, because the chapters in his perspective almost felt forced, like “we need to fill these plot holes” without actually adding true depth to his character (which I know he’s a sociopath, so how much depth do we want? But if you’re going to give us his mind, then we should see more of him.). Overall my favorite in the series so far and beyond excited for Chaos!
Massive thanks to NetGalley and BloomBooks for giving me an ARC for Game of Gods!
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.
Well Scarlett St. Clair has done it again! I don’t think there will ever be a book of hers that I won’t read. Somehow she manages to suck you in from chapter one and keeps you hooked.
I am one of those people who have read the whole series and I think I actually prefer the Hades saga for his POV, but I absolutely loved the other POV’s as well! I usually get bored with one or more POV but I found myself interested in every single one this time.
Very well written! 5/5 stars and will be buying a physical copy for my shelf!
